Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.
Clues:
Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet
Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul
Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

hmmm - Meeing DURING the hunt. Nature lovers meet /greet
http://www.stpaul.gov/depts/parks/construction/images/070117%20BVMRTC.pdf
The park is older, and the mounds themselves are really old, but they'd never directly mention them in a clue or people would be messin with em.
Plus, it was the park where Kirk Condie found his first medallion (if I remember correctly). Maybe if the cluewriters don't mention him in a clue, they'll relate this hunt to him in a different way.
On a personal note, it would just figure for me, as I used to work less than half a mile from there, now this year I don't..
Then again, it's only the 2nd clue, so I'm sure I can be proven wrong.
For clue 2, I believe it's telling us it's parked in a St. Paul park. Simple.
not me, too far away now:(

ANYWAYS...
ICE RINKS AT LANG. -NOT IN MAPPYS BOOK
COLLEGE...SAME OLD STORY.
HORTON --THIS TRIGGERD SOMETHING..
PLAQUE -"ST. PAUL COMPANIES"
"THE ST. PAUL" IS NO LONGER THAT...ITS NOW "stpaultravelers"
That is too bad :frown: I couldn't make the PDG because I was sick all of last weekend, but now I am better for the hunt (and for school)!! I am sure I will see you eventually, though.
(CONNECTED TO THE BRUCE VENTO PARK?)
clue 1: there's relevance to "where nature lovers each other greet". could mean crosby, since it is a nature area, and rumor has it there's plenty of "greeting" that goes on there, although i doubt very much ma press would use that particular variant on a theme for a clue.
clue 2: good old st. paul is an obvious limitation on location. "boreas' vast realm can overwhelm even diggers used to the long haul". could well mean that to find it there's gonna be a long haul, perhaps from the parking lot, or other parking space. could be a reference to the "vastness" of the park, immediately ruling out smaller parks.
