Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!

I just wanted to put that out there because I really don't think there's too much in these first three clues that narrows anything of real value. As much as I like to noodle, I don't want to wear out what few brain cells I have left on overnoodling the earlier clues.
With that, it's nap time.

And that vagueness - non-transparent, opaque - is on the level part near the high part.
I think Boxmeyer's writing The Clues.
I was talking to Camo Terry at the Pre-Dig Gig. He mentioned Boxmeyer was supposed to come with him to said event, but then wasn't able to...
These Clues are good.
"So here's advice to put your hunt on(to) [sic] Ice [sic]:" Doesn't mean "on ice" as to put on hold, but means "on to" as in "I'm on it!"
Was that Chair-O-Key? I don't know, but there was some kind'a boundaries/moved/added land talk.
Regarding the "each other" that refers to two people or what have you. As in "one or the other."
swoops in, grabs it all, dashes away quickly, trips on the ice and makes the long haul back home.
The following is my general 5 rule list we tend to go by when seeking the treasure. These are simply my basics, after 25 years of searching. I have drawn some basic conclusions that may or may not help you along the way depending on if you believe my observations to be genuinely fact or simply coincidence.
1)The Medallion has never been hidden in the same park in consecutive years. Although it has been located in Como two out of three in 2001 and 2003, prompting some to now refer to it as the “Como Park Treasure Hunt”, they were not consecutive and will continue not to be. Conclusion, you may cross last year’s Park, Battle Creek, off of your list of contending Parks for 2007.
2) The park where the treasure lies will be open after dark so hunters can conduct their search. I know this sounds a bit simple but in years past as I drove from park to park trying to make all the clues fit one location, I found that some of St. PaulÂ’s largest parks were actually closed, gated and locked! This was true the last couple of years for both Phalen and Hidden Falls. Now I was at Phalen in 1983 and at Hidden Falls in 1993 when the treasure was hidden at those locations and you can bet there were no locked gates at the entrances of those parks in those years. Conclusion, If the park is locked and itÂ’s only 9:00 PM, it aint there!
3) Treasure hunters tend to drink a little bit and when they do, well we all know it can sometimes be difficult when those back teeth are floating and there aint a rest room or Porta-potty in sight. Or is there? If the hunt gets to the later clues, the organizers at the PP realize there may be several thousand people converging on one park as the search narrows. In years past I have notice an unusual amount of portable out houses suddenly appearing near general parking areas of the park that the medallion is hidden in. This was the case in 1993 at Hidden Falls. On Saturday (clue 7) we were there. There were only about 5 other people in the whole park that day so I really wasnÂ’t all that confident we were in the right place. Until, that is, my buddy John glanced over and saw the row of out houses! We both knew right away they are not normally there and immediately the goose bumps pop knowing youÂ’re on to something big! Conclusion, if you see the BFI truck cruising the park, dropping off rows of out houses, you may be in the right spot.
4) State Fair Grounds, public land or private land? It depends on who you talk to over there. I have been told different stories by different sources at the Fair Grounds. One person may tell you that it is in fact public land while another will tell you it is not. In either case they will always tell you that if it was there, they would know about it so therefore it must not! Every year the clues will seem to fit perfect for the Fair Grounds and every year my friends think IÂ’m goofy for considering it. But consider this; the Medallion was there in 1953 and again in 1967. Often times you can read right into the first clue and it will tell you to stay within the city limits of St. Paul there by eliminating the rest of Ramsey County and the State Fair. Conclusion, some years that first clue will tell you that all of Ramsey County is in; at that point you have to keep an open mind to the Fair and the other parks in the surrounding suburbs of St. Paul.
5) Come properly equipped! I donÂ’t know how many times IÂ’ve seen people out there with no hat, no gloves, nothing to move snow with, but they have their clues in hand and their ready to rock! It is imperative that you dress warm and bring something to dig snow or move brush with. Here is my list of survival items for proper treasure hunting:
A) Maps, a general overall map of Ramsey County with the city limits of St. Paul easily identifiable. All of the public land and parks should be shown in a shaded color on the map. Also, print out a map of the individual parks you intend on visiting. A couple of great sites to visit with lots of information about individual parks are: http://www.friendsoftheparks.org/parksearch.htm and http://www.ci.stpaul.mn.us/depts/parks/userguide/ or just enter the park you are interested in on Google and you will find plenty of sites with maps of the park.
 Bring a dictionary and thesauruses. As you sit in your vehicle staring out at the park you have arrived at, you will start to go over the clues as you look visually at the park. Suddenly, it will dawn on you that there is a clue with a word that may have several hidden meanings. You need to write those meanings down as you are going over it. It may come in handy later.
C) Flash lights, head lamps, lanterns, compass, leaf blowers, cell phone, GPS, lap top, and new this year, vehicles built at the St. Paul Ford plant equipped with Medallion Navigation.

help others you can think of??
Sur = south in Spanish. South in the cities, or in the south zone of Hidden Falls?
and Tim
You deserved to fall. HA!
I want to add a safety tip:
If you have a head lamp on an elastic band, and you are going to adjust your hat, when you pull the head lamp away from your forehead, hold on tight, and then re-place it GENTLY against your head.
I think I gave myself a little concussion (in addition to the bleeding cut!) at Newell Park several years ago, in my haste to adjust my head lamp!
Woodsman Bob (may he rest in peace) was highly amused.
Surly will begin by brewing two beers for the Twin Cities market. We're not gonna tell you what the beers will be like; you'll have to find out for yourself. We also plan to have a rotating seasonal beer.
anagrammed out, it gets us "lever", which starts us down a long twisted path of vagueness that leads us to the medallion, buckle your seatbelts folks, this may get bumpy...
Lever- Lever 2000 is a popular brand of soap which brings us down 2 seperate paths: 1) 2000 (from the brand name) when the treasure was at Newell and 2) 2001 when it was hidden at Como in a dove soap box
So you have Newell and Como, which one to choose? Why choose, just split the difference and find a road that is midway inbetween the 2... Energy Park Drive, which just happens to bring you to Midway Stadium (coincidence, I think NOT).
so we have energy park drive, but there is another way to split it up... mathematically! 2000 and 2001 split it halfway and you get noon on July 1st, 2000 (by my math). Written out that is 07/01/00 or 70100 if you remove the leading 0. type in "70100 st paul minnesota" into google maps (is the best) and see what you get... I'll tell you: the 2nd result is The American Academy of Neurology on Montreal near (nigh?) highland park, the 3rd result is The Veterans Affairs Medical Center which some of you may be saying "hey that's in minneapolis" touche, it is. draw a line between the 2, it goes right through HIDDEN FALLS.
"but tim, you can't believe that we are going to follow this abstract line of thinking, you seem to be just making the clues fit the park."
Fair enough, my friend let me bring you back to Energy Park Drive... and midway stadium, go straight south on the map from midway stadium, and you will end up midway between hidden falls and crosby. which one would you choose? I choose the one with the line through it.
I CAN'T RECALL HOW..HECK FOR WHAT CLUE EVEN...
SO...
WAS IT #1 OR #2 ??? :goofy:
But then again there are some that have to go with #2 as well.
:goofy: :pbpt:
now one of my favorite noodle of all time ....at least that I can remember at this very moment ---
I think you're on to something! :eyeroll: :goofy:
