Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Clues:

Clue No. 1 (Sunday, Jan. 21)
Welcome ice and snow and temperatures low
There’s no time for cold feet!
For searchers’ pleasure we’ve parked the treasure
Where nature lovers each other greet

Clue No. 2 (Monday, Jan. 22)
Boreas\' vast realm can overwhelm
Even diggers used to the long haul
So here\'s advice to put your hunt on ice:
Look no farther than good old St. Paul

Clue No. 3 (Tuesday, Jan. 23)
Hunters can be surly but in clue-time it’s early
Be safe, friends, and in the hunt revel
Near land that is high the treasure is nigh
Vagueness rules and that’s on the level

Since Jake is eligible, we need to all go together and pitch in for some booze and a new hoe. They could then keep Jake busy for the next nine days.

You know? Can I tell you? Now that there's a new Hunt, I'm actually getting really super giggly and pleased that Jake beat out all those morons. Someone we know, someone we've Hunted with. GREAT JOB, JAKE!

Jake dedicating the Find to Kirk Condie makes me cry. That's really nice. It's fitting Jake found it this year.

Yes.. they said that the second hunt can only go as long as the first hunt could.

I want to thank Jake for letting me see the treasure and be a part of it all. It was so crazy, the people who came to see him and call him. I am glad to have seen things firsthand and be a part of it.

I'm almost glad i missed the KIRK reference...

I tear'd up when jake and his mom hugged....

I don't think I could handle the Kirk comments...

woohooo.

Kirk..how about some freezing cold and a boat load of snow!!!!

Yeah, green.. I think Jake was really humble about everything. He kept bringing brassmonkey into the picture and making sure his contribution didn't go unnoticed. The Kirk Condie thing was nice, too.. it was nice seeing someone with a really strong sense of the hunt's history and tradition up there talking... although PP might see the the hunt as a failure on account of its length, I hope that they also see it one that rewarded their most dedicated hunter.

I sent an e-mail to Mom Press thanking her for the second hunt.

They didn't have to do that...

It is going to be very interesting to see how this second hunt plays out. I wonder how well it is going to be hidden and how good the clues will be.

I bet that they will really try to push this second hunt to the last clue.

I also wonder how it is going to start. Is there going to be another "it's in a park" clue, or is the first clue going to be closer to what we would typically expect from a fourth clue?

I'd encourage you to express those thoughts to the powers that be, at the PP. Just a thought...

I just went to Rosedale all down and out to get a new outfit for the WC coronation which I was struggling to even go to b/c it was Friday night prime hunting timeÂ…I kept telling myself that I was thankful that it was one of you guys and not some bozo off the street that just jumps out of their car Â…yada yada yadaÂ…Â….so when I got back I hoped on hoping to see some pics from the press conference and get some more detail and what do I see a Second Clue? OMG the PP really redeemed themselves. I am so excitedÂ…I love this site and all that you guys put into it. I am glad that we get to chat a little longer.

I'd predict the first 5 clues of the 2nd hunt are gonna be extremely vague.

Something to the effect "Okay smart guys, it's somewhere in the county, the rest is up to you"

Heh, classy act to setup a 2nd hunt. How'd they talk Soucheray into the lunch thing? Ahhhh... I knew he was the cluewriter. That's his pennance for the first hunt

If I find the Med, sumbuddy can have my lunch with Joe.

Unless I can parlay that into lunch with Boxmeyer and Millett...

I am so honored to be part of such a great group of people!

Jake and Brass Monkey were so gracious at the press conference.

And to hear the first comments about Kirk Condie just brings tears to my eyes.

Jake, you are so right that Kirk must have had something to do with this. I've got an idea that Kirk orchestrated you two happening to greet one another this morning!

Congratulations Jake - its great to see your hard work and dedication pay off!

Congratulations Brass Monkey - great noodling!

Could anyone clarify how the PP #1 knew he found it and then mandated he show up by 6:00PM?

Congrats to Jake

Not knowing for sure... But I can almost be certain that he called or stopped in first... pretty sure it was a phone call, as this is his life's work, per se, and he would want to go home to cherish the puck for a while.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Jake told the PP anything until he got there. The 6pm time was just the time Jake said that he'd be turning it in. He wanted to give us all a chance to see him and the medallion and be around for the press conference.

queenmalley-

PP is doing a second hunt with $5000 on the line. There will be clues every day in the paper starting with tomorrow's paper (or tonight's, depending on how you look at it.. basically, they aren't missing a beat with the clues). The last day of this hunt is the day the 12th clue of the first hunt would have been released, so it looks like there is a maximum of 9 clues.

Its all good just curious earlier in the night when someone stated "it had to be turned in by 600pm" Can we expect to here some details to where exactly it was located from Jake?

Seeing Jake with his mom was special. You could see what it meant to Jake with them hugging and the moment they shared.

As far as the PP knowing that Jake had it, Jake called to tell them he had it. There was a writer from the PP who went to Jake's apartment to do an interview with him. I suppose the PP had some idea of Jake's passion for this hunt, and that coupled with the fact Jake knew what it was hidden in and where it was hidden helped them know that he had in fact found it.

don't know when they will issue the clues answers due to this new hunt -

someone mentioned the 6 pm thing to us over the phone--- they just wanted to get him to the Press and get the press conference moving because of all the cameras and newstations that needed to be there. Also he wanted to get it in before the deadline of being the person who found it the quickest - something about IN 3 CLUES --- even though someone found it in 2 days but 5 clues? or something like that. So it wasn't to take prize $$ away or anything like that.

see you downtown OR in the parks

heading out soon

WCCO had better footage of the interview than KARE did. Maybe they'll run it again tomorrow on their noon broadcast.
