Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

Nice anagram, Bear!

Way to keep me in my favorite park. Now all I have to do is find the zoo over there. :pbpt:

But seriously....I think a lot of clues fit Cherokee.

"smell pretty"=Baker St.

"hunting shoes"=Chippewa Boots/Chippewa Ave.

"brother and sister"=Shakespeare's Isabella and Claudio/Isabel St.

Ok, so Isabel is spelled differently. I don't care.

nusbaumer is considered the father of st. paul parks - a german immigrant and flower god.

I think marley was tying "never a bummer" in the 3rd line to nusbaumer.

USBAUMER DRIVE

Frederick Nusbaumer (1850-1935) was called the "father of the St. Paul park system" for his work as superintendent of parks from 1889 to 1922.

Born in Baden, Germany, he attended the polytechnical school in Freiburg. Upon graduation at 17, he went to London to work in the famous Kew Gardens, after which he traveled to France, where he worked in its largest nursery. In France, Horace W. S. Cleveland, then recognized as one of the world's leading landscape gardeners, urged him to come to the United States.

Nusbaumer immigrated to St. Paul in 1878 and did contract landscaping for 12 years until becoming superintendent. His skill earned Como Park a national reputation. This street within the park was named in his honor in 1967.

WHY WAS THE NAME SPELLED 'USBAUMER' ON THIS SITE??

Comment on Matty B's: They have been very good to us. They've reserved the bar area for us and will continue to do so. They have drink specials if you print out the think Me2 posted a while ago. Hell, they printed in the PP that they were our home base.

GW has never welcomed our business. They have snarled at us, over charged us, insisted on combining the tickets of various dispersed tables, sighed when we entered. And, most of all, it isn't a bar. It is a restaurant. When we enter, they want us to sit down to an assigned place. They do not want us to mill around.

I know the drinks at Matty B's can be slightly more expensive if you don't take advantage of the drink specials, but it would be very difficult of me to continue to give money to GW when they treat us (as a group) like crap.

I get it. I am cheap too. I just don't like giving money to people who don't really want our business.

Egram Me2 for the drink specials thing.
