Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

Ohhhh, the handy locating device!

Definitely Central. But three street names in one clue? They must think they've hidden it well or that people are stuck in Como.

Sermon on the Mount info didn't give any information about loaves and fishes.

Loaves and fishes were multiplied on a hillside.

Still searching.

By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.

But he answered, “You give them something to eat.”

They said to him, “That would take eight months of a man’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?”

“How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.”

When they found out, they said, “Five - and two fish.”

Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand. -- Mark 6:35-44

Were the people by a lake? And is it a sundial or compass that is on the eastern shore of Como?

It's a compass I guess as it points out the different directions.

The feeding of the five thousand, as the miracle of the loaves and fishes is also called, is the only miracle of Jesus to be recorded in all four Gospels. This should be an immediate tip off to us of its importance. All four evangelists give an account of it and the details supplied by each of the four Gospel writers are revealing.

The miracle occurs just before Jesus goes up to Jerusalem and to the events of Palm Sunday; his triumphant entry into the city. By this point in JesusÂ’ life, he was enormously popular and extremely well known. Word of his miracles and his preaching had spread throughout Palestine and people were following him wherever he went.

A huge throng of people--5,000 according to John--gathered to hear him. Matthew adds that that number did not include the women and children and if they are added in, the crowd probably exceeded 10,000. They had been there the whole day and were hungry and there was nothing for them to eat.

In John’s version of the story, it is Jesus who first realizes that the people are hungry and that something would have to be done about it. In Matthew’s version, Jesus says to the apostles, “Give them something to eat.” He wants the disciples to be involved both in the problem and in the solution.

The apostles don’t know what to do. They have no food to give the hungry people and Philip tells Jesus that they don’t even have the resources to buy any food. “Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each one to get a little.”

Finally, Peter’s brother Andrew says, “There’s a boy over there with a couple of fish and a few barley loaves.”

Then the miracle happens. Making use of what is available, the few fish and barley loaves, Jesus raises his eyes to heaven, blesses the food, and, enlisting the help of the apostles, tells them to distribute the food to the people.

The story is rich with meaning.

The first and most obvious meaning is that this miraculous distribution is a symbol of the Eucharistic food that Christ will give his people. We know that from the particular way the story is narrated, using the same gestures and the same words that were later used by the early church in the celebration of the Eucharist.

“And taking the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied.”

Larry Ho monument, butterfly shap shelter, doesnt' jump out at me. Located in center of the park. Mounment to Larry Hodgson. There is a rock in the middle of trees.

Think I'm going to hit the sack and try to get some rest and beat this head cold. Maybe something will come to me in my sleep!

How again does Central fit with the menagerie and flora with growing pains?

The Soucheray article in the paper is interesting. He talks about Jake finding the first treasure so quickly.

And dang it was hard getting down to the paper tonight. There was some concert going on that was letting out about the time we were going down there. By the time we got there the paper was released, so I just ran in quick to get it.

If Dale is the brother, I imagine Victoria could be the sister. The flora would likely be the arboretum, which would have growing pain in the winter. Or someone told me they were actually trying to expand the arboretum at one time but ran into some trouble which does ring a bit of a bell now. I think the menagerie in this case just means a collection of fun things to do.

That's what we figured. There were some crazy people who were running with no coats on. Some girls had basically tank tops on, running out in the cold.

I have thought that it was hidden in an Avon compact or something similar.

The PP always refrences this big balls along the powerlines somehow. As a kid, I remember sitting in the back seat of the car, going up the bridge on Victoria street, and I always said that balloons got stuck to the electric pole. But if that is already said, how would of that been refrenced in the clues, because in the past they always refrence the balls on powerlines somehow.

I'm betting the cluewriter thought mentioning "the bard" would be an obscure reference and was shocked that everyone immediately zoomed in on Avon and so they put out the next clue just to lure everyone to Como instead.

thought the possibility of a avon container but for me this clue confirms that it means avon street and the tame and wild would be animal crackers

also right of victoria a few blocks away from the park is comcast pay center and cat tv

Animal cracker packages are quite colorful which is why I figured that wouldn't be the case, but one never knows until it's dug up.

guess thats seill possible too bit i think wild and tame tends to be the meat of the clue over quench your thirst... not evey line means somehting we have to decipher which has meaning and which is filler hust to make the clue.

But Rob if i see a gatorade label (which is an untame reptile) I will pick it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
