Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm not surprised by this clue. I was searching in that area on Sunday and, again, this morning. Not too many trees around but there is trail that seems to lead down a "channel" or creek. There was one man searching that area thoroughly on Sunday. Huh!

That's YOU, OT!? Thanks for the clue!! You are famous over there!!

Thank you- I just wanted to make sure it was the one strange they give us a street, espically one that is at the other end of the park.

OT, Sorry I didn't realize you were one and the same. Thanks for the nightly clue updates!

Good luck to those going out. Still sounds like folks will be straying to and fro.

Goodnight and SCDs!

I've been posting the clue for four years over there, Queen. That's all it takes for them to like someone. :sheepish:

It's actually pretty silly.

Okay, so where are we talking... Behind the Legion's ballfield? I'm trying to make a mental picture here. I know there is a trail and a canal or channel of some sort right there (The neighbor kids have a hockey set-up nearby.) There are also lots more ball fields down the path. This would be accessed from the arboretum's parking lot, I believe.

I know its off subject, but whats the deal with Amaco having protolium lines running under the park?

queenmalley

No, OT, it's a very important job. Seriously, they trust you. Posting clues is a big deal! Too many fakes out there, you are the real deal.

Night Terry!

The ballfeild off of lexington I beleive is completely dug up. The only woods within site of the ballfeild are the ones by the train tracks, and under the bridge.

What the heck, Tom? that might affect the digging? How did u find that out?

Marley, Could you help me clarify the area?

You see these white pipes sticking up all over the park saying not to dig or remove on them.

OT

I think that's where they're hunting now. At least that's where my boys are and they said lots of people are there now.

Tell them be carefull as they go up the hill (because at the very top its a sharp drop down to the train tracks.) You can see the tips of the cell phone towers up at the top,

Just our of coursioty, could this flag pole not be a pole in the park, but more of a flag pole a nearby resident has?

Living in Wisconsin makes it a "long haul" plus it's passed my bedtime.

Thanks wolf. I feel bad for Cole over there who posted it first. People were giving him crap about it and he was right.

And it doesn't mention a pole, either, just a flag. I may be reading too much into, it. I, also, thought about "spirits" as in alcohol which lead me to the Legion! lol
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 9:48 PM Permalink
tom

hmm lemme think, I have a feeling the flag pole they may be talking about is not in the park, but in view of the wooded area along the tracks.

Could a flag mean a mark of grafitti?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 9:49 PM Permalink

I don't know if you read my post over there but I hate posting there because of all the negativity. I posted that there was going to be a 2nd hunt and I got grilled wanting to kow how I new. Man, it was terrible.

I know, OT. I read some of them, No one believes anyone but you

You should have gnarled your teeth at 'em, Wolf!

And why does it say BIG flag? I saw a normal size flag in the area... I really am starting to read too much into these clues. I guess I should be out there looking but I just don't feel it this year. That and I don't have anyone to call me with the clue.

I think the trying to fool us has stopped and every clue now means what it says.

The clue says into the trees, not into the woods. Maybe just a couple of trees.
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 10:00 PM Permalink

Wolfpac, then why does it say BIG? Why not just FLAG? And where are you, as I am in WI, too.

sorry suit, I was talking about the lexington side of the park, near that parking lot.

Basically next to the Lexington parking lot is a big flag, which is a monument to veterans. I hid my mock hunt treasure at the base of this flag. There are a number of woods/trees around in the area, so it's hard to pinpoint where to go exactly.

I've never been there, but is there a liquor store you can see from the park?

BTW: thanks for posting your mock hunt clues and explanations, i found them very helpful in "getting to know" the park.

No problem. I found them helpful as a refresher for the park.
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 10:17 PM Permalink

Son says you can't see a liquor store, but maybe the "spirits" are the Holy Spirit, or the church.

I was going to say "Kids say" but I didn't want to put words in your mouth, TMK.

Yup, what Kids said. However, if the Hidden Falls hunt is any indication, they may take us around the south side of the lake and to the woods over by the little bridge. Who knows? Remember Phalen? Clue 11 gave us the general area, but clue 12 took us quite a way from the little brick building.

There are (or were) a lot of CC members at the park when the clue came out. Hopefully, one of them finds it tonight!

tons of coolers in the park .....

is part of the reason we forgot to call here with the clue.

leelabel, mucky, med, and kitch calling coolers with clues....

reports from the park.

about 300ish...spread out the entire south side of the lake....

from the flag pole to the bridge.

me2...says people showing up still.

tim....says "the rush is wearing off"

being at the paper was fun....might do that again....still not sure....

good nite gang...i got a full day of work and a long nite 2mrw...

Nobody's found it yet? Comeon, Central Park isn't that big

I think some of the non geocachers oughta get out and try it, I know all kinds of parks in Posenville, err, Roseville.

Good luck to everyone! Might be interesting to hear what a 12th clue rush will be like out there, but I don't think I'll go for the experience. Kinda want to forget this year's, no offense, but it's been too troublesome for me to get out at all.

aaaaargh...thats exactly where we were digging today, if it makes it through the night we'll be out in the morn, if not at least we were in the right area.
