Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.
Recent Clues:
Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes
To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched
Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey
Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet

Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice

Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot

Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek

I am hanging up the shovel this year as this hunt has reached the infamous point where it becomes a mindless free-for all.
For those still out there--here is what I got (could be dead wrong).
1) Cell phone left at home = when standing at home, the cell phone towers that are visible in left field.
2) "Come on down" - the price (and the prize) is in right field.
3) Anagramming the last line of today's clue got me close to the following:
a. Hook ten feet
b. Ten meter hook
Perhaps this is in reference to the diamond dinger (4 of the baseballs that I found at Central were labeled as "Diamond" (the brand). My wife and I dug up a large part of the fields near a "Fisk" homer pole.
4) Famous Singer/Diamond Dinger: Referencing the flagpole and the flag at the Legion field. The famous singer (not a noun, but a verb) = Star Spangled Banner. The Diamond Dinger relates to the fact that the flag pole is just outside fo the centerfield fence. This flagpole could put you "oh (say can you see) so close" to the prize.
I am exhausted and not going out tonight but will take pride (if I am correct) in nailing some of the clues.
At this point, it is a free-for all and any one of the jackasses that have been posting can win. My other hope is that the winner is not one of the jerks that are posting in here, should give some of the $ back to the PP so that they can beef up their monitoring of the site to clean out the people that don't have the brainpower to discuss/analyze the clues but instead pick on others and threaten others.

Definitions of transit on the Web:
revolve (the telescope of a surveying transit) about its horizontal transverse axis in order to reverse its direction
cause or enable to pass through; "The canal will transit hundreds of ships every day"
passage: a journey usually by ship; "the outward passage took 10 days"
A surveying transit is a simple, rugged theodolite, often equipped with a compass. It gained popularity during the 19th century with American railroad engineers pushing West.
The TRANSIT system, also known as NAVSAT (for Navy Navigation Satellite System), was the first satellite navigation system to be used operationally. The system was primarily used by the US Navy to obtain accurate location information for targeting submarine launched ballistic missiles SLBMs, and was also used as a general navigation system by the Navy, as well as hydrographic and geodetic surveying.
Transit is when a smaller body passes in front of a larger one (for example, when an object passes between the Sun and the Earth).
sophisticated optical surveying instrument similar to an alidade, except that it is mounted directly on a tripod, rather than resting on a plane
A surveying instrument similar to a theodolite that measures horizontal and vertical angles.
Or maybe mean to hit the trail that has a handy navagational device like a sign with a map of the park on it? Or trail near sexton or transit?
ME THINKS COMO NOW :goofy:

I am talking in reference when you are looking at a map.
If you are up north and asking someone to come where you are
Are you going to tell them to come down to you?

WHERE ARE THOSE LYRICS...
TLC - Come On Down Lyrics
Ooohh yeah yeah yeah
If you need a little tenderness
Can't find it no where else
If you want a little something sweet
You just come to me
If you're hungry for some love at night
I'll fix you up just right
There's a tender place just down the way
Where you can stay and I'm singin'
[Chorus:]
Come on down
Where the water tastes sweet
Dive into my ocean
Bring your love to me
Come on down come on down
Where the lovin' feels right
Door is always open
Open all night (come down baby)
Baby won't you come on down
I can take you where you need to go
Take you there nice and slow
To a place where feelings run so deep
You just run to me
I can lead you to a special kiss
Fulfill your every wish
There's a place I know just down the road
Where you should go and I'm singin'
[Chorus]
Oooooh
I can take you to where the love flows like wine
I can show you my deepest secrets inside
And if you take a chance where I wanna be
So come here and get close
And baby gimme what I need the most
Come come down
If you need a little tenderness
Can't find it nowhere else
If you want a little something sweet
You just come to me
If you're hungry for some love at night
I'll fix you up just right
There's a tender place just down the way
Where you can stay and I'm singin'
[Chorus]
They're both TLC. LMAO!
