Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

I love reading here. Read y'all at PF too! Glad one of y'all found the Medallion. Way cool!

Thanks for letting me lurk. Wish I knew something about your parks up there. Would love to be able to noodle from afar!

Thanks for letting me lurk! I really DO enjoy reading this!

From the PP site.

Saw some dude at Central, in camo, east side of the lake, scurrying away from Central Park at about 2:45 today. Looked like he had places to go. Very secretive. Got into a white pickup and took off. Headed south... to the newspaper? Wouldn't doubt we get the announcement any minute.

It was enough to send me to the hotline. No word yet.

I was right on top of it too!!! Again!!!

I think you're right. I didn't even know you could access those old boards. It sure clogged up the "unread messages" though.

I'm late replying to this because I just woke up from a nap. I dreamed that I killed someone while hunting in the dark, but they let me go because it was a man and he looked threatening. :worried:

I think my noodle is overcooked.

Thanks, Kitch! I'll have to read and (attempt to) learn.

A couple years ago I donated $10 to your pool for the "after hunt" (or whatever you call it.

Fascinating that ya'll are so into this!

Thanks again!

Thanks, green. I think we met a couple years ago on PF.

Glad to see the migration to this site.

Like I said, I don't know anything about how y'all do this, but the City of Roses thing just seemed to obvious to me.

I started google searching "rose" and "plot" and "ST. Paul" -- strange stuff you can find! LOL. Thanks again!

FYI...

If you see somebody digging on the lake, tell/ask them to get off.

We saw (and yelled to) a couple of guys actually digging on the lake - following footprints, like they might have been left by the hider...

when its clearly marked as thin ice, and there is open water on one end of the lake...

we dont need somebody falling in....

I KK! I read and post occasionally at Atlantic Refugees and enjoyed reading about your gardening prowess last summer. How are those roses holding up?

Central is huge, some were talking about one of the side parks. I really don't think they hid it on Bennett lake itself. Crazy people! But i could be wrong, its been a strange hunt this year, but fun as heck.

Nice to "see" you. The roses are holding up. Everything else froze. We'll see how the perennials hold up -- here, the "ground" really never freezes...just the top! We had an ice storm here in San Antonio, that had us shut in for 2 and a half days (not prepared for that stuff, here).

LOL, thanks re the hairdo! So funny to see someone here reading that!

Green...remember ED?

Where I used to work, we manufactured products for the treatment of ED. These devices were for people for whom things like Viagra didn't work...

Anyway, there were lifesize cardboard cutout guys, all named ED, who were all over the building where I worked. Especially when working late, those damn EDs could about give you a heart attack!

I x-country skied in SA in...'84? '85? City was shut down for like 3-4 days. We were able to get around just fine, that you very much. Even went to the Pink Palace (what's that place called)? That was when the guy that went to Washington was gov.

Los Barrios still going strong? I'd KILL for some o'their chimmichuri sauce...

Ro is from St. Paul originally too. Don't know if she was a hunter, but I'm sure she's aware of it.

Heh! You know my town!

That was January of 1985. I had just moved here (had only been here 2 weeks) and it snowed 13 inches. I'm from Ohio originally, so it was fun to watch the Cowboys in their pickup trucks slide down hills, while I, in my little 1977 Honda Civic, drove just fine. Only hit one guard on the side of the road (metal guard, not human).

LOS Barrios still rocks. They actually opened another location.

If you ever get back here, try a restaurant called "Jacala". Very good Tex-Mex food.

Skiing in San Antonio. OMG, that's priceless. I hope you saved pics of that one! Cracking me up!

Hmmm...yet another internet source for next year's hunt?

Actually, I may have folks up there that I went to HS in Germany with. Am going to have to check on this.

Come On Down... referring to the Barker Gang? I am trying to see if they have any association o Roseville (not just St. Paul). One of the gang members was "Fred Hunter"

LMAO=== wonder if he's the grandaddy of the scary one on the PP boards.

I wasn't at Central. Mr. KT (as always) has picked a different park, and thinks I don't love him if I don't hunt it with him....

"wrong park Dan" strikes again. He's using a combination of numerology and the words of a poem to assemble the GPS coordinates of the exact spot.

Oops west of Dale I ment to say...

north of the aborudem and south of the field would be the wooded area thats runs west/east and is where Alladin Rose Fisk dead end into the park right?

Central has been at the top of my list since Saturday, but even after three hours there this afternoon, can't truly feel like I've found just the right spot in the park.

Whites of their eyes kept nagging at me too. I'm starting to think this thing is stuffed inside a potato!

Hey KK!

You are welcome to noodle with us anytime. Sometimes, someone with a fresh outlook nails something the rest don't see.

And yes Eags...I remember the stories about ED. There were plenty of stories from that job you had.

We were out at Acorn and Central this morning. Actually moved some snow at Central. Wish one knew what section of the park is "the" section. Only saw snowmommy and her son - the one that had the folding shovel several years ago. He's all grown up now!

I'm not getting a good feeling about any part of Central. Starting to wonder if it is really out there or if its at another park in Roseville.
