Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

I just got back from digging for 5 hours in central.

I found a white cap 3 inches in diameter..

An intertube, a Giant mushroom and signed a geocache.

I say Marley, Me2, Kop and a few more.

No puck though :frown:

That could be. Or it could be OVER by DALE. Sexant's over that way. As is Brooks for your miracle on ice.

Where's the Lion's Shelter (heed siren, seek shelter)?

I'm telling you, San Antonio has what we call "Fiesta" every year.

We really need to do something like this here, in San Antonio.

What do we hide? An enchilada? A sombrero? A Spurs basketball?

...hmmm game tickets...

Nah, I like y'all's idea better.

Dinero.

We (me, Wicked, and LAmommy) were just screwin around and saw a big guy diggin, so we yelled out "Hunter Fred!" The guy stops, looks right at us... we just figured it was some other guy named fred so we kept walkin.

Got home and nick checked the PP boards... Hunter Fred had posted "Part of the afternoon, I spent over near the lake.

I heard someone yell "hunter fred!"

who yelled my name?

Who was too chicken to step up?"

is there a faster way to check this board? If I hit the number of the last post, or come in from the menu, I have to scroll down past all the clues and other header info, and then sometimes there's not even anything new to read.

thanks for any help you can give me with this!

It's kinda weird how many of us were out there for most of the day and only a few groups found each other. That's how BIG that place is. I thought you would have heard Jake and I driving around during a warm up cranking Brass Monkey to see if you would pop up somewhere.

I think I saw about 20 of us out there today. In two different groups though. I'm taping Ch. 9 news to see if a couple of cooler kids make it on there. I still like where we were digging most of the day. There's just too much to clear to let it go. We'll see tonight.

Speaking of the header, there is a link there to a board to discuss the location of the rehash bash this year.

As an explanation, there are a couple of reasons being considered to break with tradition this year. That tradition being having a potluck picnic in the park that hid the medallion.

The first reason is that this year there will be two different parks. Which park do we ultimately choose? Jake certainly provided some history to this hunt season, but the finder of the second medallion is also important to the history of this hunt.

The second reason is that this Sunday's forecast is for bitter cold and windy. Remember Phalen and how incredibly cold it was there? Standing around shooting the breeze is different from moving and digging to stay warm - and children attend this event each year. I for one would feel terrible if we had any little ones with frostbite.

Allison Wonderland has graciously offered the use of his lodge for the afternoon's festivities. Then anyone wishing to go visit the spots where the medallion laid could do so.

Please take time to post your thoughts in the thread linked in the header here.

Thank you!
