Doug, I don't even have a clue who writes the clues, etc. And I've been there for nearly six years. It's a closely guarded secret. :)

The only parks with both Picnic and Pavilions will rule many out here are the ones with BOTH pic/pav; cherokee, como, hidden falls and CROSBY,highland, mounds, newell, Harriet Island(closed to public)and last but not least and my fav=PHALEN

what i dont like about this year PP, is the clues are too vauge, and just weird, 2 years ago, they were damn hard, but i could ponder all day about them to stay busy, then when solved we knew it was solved. we just have no idea if its solved

1. SWEDE HOLLOW Too small

2. BATTLE CREEK off 61 Could be

I think we still need to make sense of "well-trained eye"

not just "eye" but "WELL TRAINED"

This was chosen for a reason. I think it's the key phrase of the clue. But haven't figured it out yet.

I LIKE WHAT U ARE SAYING BUT WHAT DO U WANNA KNOW

Isn't the north end of Phalen (up where the ice castle statue thingie is) in Maplewood, therefore not being in St. Paul?

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:30 AM Permalink

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:30 AM Permalink

Well-trained eye mean that we that there is something to see that maybe we are not seeing in the clues. Telling us to look harder? stretch

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:31 AM Permalink
WestSide Will

well-trained eye? Think of bows and arrows

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:31 AM Permalink

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:31 AM Permalink
DiggDugg

They haven't even pinpointed a park yet and it's already clue 6...I think a small park is more and more likely.

I'm thinking newell, phalen, swede hollow, battle creek...

haven't really considered linwood or highland, have to think about that

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:32 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

well trained eye, sniper, eariler a reference to an ace, and a chase, witch is the riffleing groove in a gun muzzle,

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:32 AM Permalink
Corkmeister

Iris Park is in the midway area - just south of University Avenue just west of Fairview.

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:32 AM Permalink
Austin

I thought the well TRAINED refered to train tracks?????

I'm gonna go with the 'well-trained eye' to mean the same as 'read this well' = look closely at this clue. What's the thought about the key to #6 being HUNTER or ATTACK?

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:32 AM Permalink
MedallionStallion

I don't think we can count parks out that are "to small"

that's what everyone said about Conway last year until it was obvious

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 12:32 AM Permalink
Medallion Sleuth

well trained eye = in red wallet

Pie, we keep telling them, and telling them. Show them picture #6. I'm going to bed.

STALLION.....'well trained eye'= KSTP channel 5 eye in the sky> KSTP tower which lines up directly north(boreas) with the theory of clue 2'the loot'=DULUTH street

Why not Mounds park?

JUst a Hint but I think if ever it was apparent that there is an anagram or a word puzzle within the clue(s) it is here and now. I dont know what yet, but then again, i just printed the clues out :) Oh btw, hi GoldenBoy :)

They will never do Mounds park again. To many morons were digging on the mounds. Native American got quite upset.

Because there's not enough clues left to pinpoint a spot in a huge park. Usually if it's a big park they let you know early, then they can string you along in the park for a while.

If we go 1 or 2 more clues without having a really good idea of the park, i'd say it's almost definitely a small one.

You can't even narrow it down to 2 or 3 parks yet...there are at least 4 or 5 that it could POSSIBLY be...

Treasure Hunter's Guide - I've seen picture #6 - great start to a helpful sight - labelling the pictures for those of us newer to the area would be a tremendous help. Throw us a bone here - where is that bridge? PLEASE
