The Perseid meteor shower has begun. Although the display will not peak until August 12th and 13th, sky watchers are already counting as many as a dozen meteors per hour (including some nice fireballs) during the darkest hours before dawn. Rates could increase 5- to 10-fold when the shower reaches maximum on Sunday night and Monday morning. Advice: Get away from city lights. While many Perseids will be bright enough to see from light-polluted urban areas, the shower's full grandeur is reserved for places with dark and starry skies. This is a good weekend to go camping.
We are just in from watching some meteors shooting across the sky. That sure is fun to watch. We are now getting some thin clouds and lightening from some approaching storms. You just know it would cloud up on a night that would be perfect otherwise for sky watching.

Hi all sorry I have been away for so long, Been very busy at work and with Bella growing like a weed ( almost 3 )she is demanding 100% of our free time. Very sorry to read about all the saddnes that has been going on this year.

I saw an interview on TV when everyone was talking about people getting married on 7/7/07 and how 7 is an important number for a lot of people and how to figure out if it for you. It was based on birthdays. My birthday is 6/17/43 6+1=7, 7 stands alone. And 4+3=7. Oh, maybe that's why I have seven children! Just lucky I guess. Ha!
the east side of lake como is frickin trashed - on my way home from work last night I actually saw RAMSEY CO SHERRIFFS running chain saws - weird.....
arlington at como was closed - all along wheelock there are hundreds of trees down of all sizes - go to the south side of the lake and its like nothing was touched - too weird how wind works
