Our place in Wisconsin is close to the South Shore of Lake Superior so that's the lake I know. South Shore is beautiful too. The shoreline is different from the North Shore. The beaches are sandy and the kids swim there when we go.
I love the Apostle Islands!
We actually go to a spot on our lake and fill up water bottles with the water as it comes out through the rocks. I think we should bottle it.
It was hot as hades along the north shore and we ended up working our way up to Thunder Bay. The kids swam in the lake and we often found ourselves wading or sitting on rocks (depending on the shoreline where we were) to soak our feet trying to cool off.
We could never eat outdoors and before we could go to sleep each night, we spent about 30 minutes swatting flies that had found their way into the camper.
cool - how long has it taken you so far?
kewl pics MMH
I'm aiming to be done before the end of the year though.
guess how many cranes in the jar contest??
but I respect your commitment and dedication on it...g.l.
Yeah, just a snapple bottle actually, I needed something to keep them in that I didn't need to spend money on.
BTW I'm not using special or fancy paper either, mainly scraps of whatever I have around. In fact, I've kind of made it a point to try and use scraps of paper from different areas of my daily life. Part of a credit card bill, part of a paycheck stub, part of a note someone gives me, part of some paper I find in a cache, etc. Now when I go places I look for different paper to try and use. I expect I'll grab a map from the state fair and use that, as well as other brocures and things from there.
Heck, at the fair I could probably get enough different kinds of paper to fold 1000 cranes just from....
Wait! I got a great idea for an entry for the creative arts building in next year's fair.
I am almost done with this one it's going to be part of a series I am going to send to Easyriders to see about getting published.
There were cars coming up behind me so I went to the next light and turned left.... I hoped Id be able to get another shot of the towers... before I knew it I was right under them!
IT was foggy and sprinkling out.
I'm not sure why I wanted the pictures so badly though -
I take a few pics and head back to Victoria St.
I don't know why but I looked to my left while driving and caught a glimpse of something in the cloudy sky. I thought it was just the light of the cross playing a trick on my eyes (kinda like a when a flash goes off and you see the shadow of the image still). I did a u-turn and went back and sure enough, from just the right angle in the sky this is what I saw in last nights fog with only the sound of the thunder headed my way.... (they are by far not a cluey shot- but just wow)
- in the first picture you can see the cross reflecting on top of my truck AND in the clouds...

I'm gonna e-mail this church the photos
I read once somewhere that a photographer takes great photographs not so much with great equipment, but by spending a lot of time at their subject. Nature photographers in particular will spend weeks or months at a location, finding the best view, checking it at different times of day and waiting for just the right conditions to come up.
and the next set are going to be from monkey fest!!!
I love the one where the monkey is looking down her shirt. haha  :goofy:
