just tryin to keep people on the same TRACK kiwi, no offense, but it says direction (singular)... im a word freak, writer and crossword addict, hence my love of the hunt...
Well Kiwi -- I think people are definately overanalyzing it....and that's OK, that's the fun of this whole thing. But there are soooo many things it could mean. A while back, I explained a little animal theory...kinda far fetched, but did you see it?
Lileks clue #1--You'll have no trouble finding the hiding place! It's made of atoms and occupies space! On another note, if Boreas does not refer to North, it means nothing. Saying St. Paul=Boreas is like saying South from the North Pole.....Might refer to previous ice castles, might not.
I brought up the confusion on Boreas because of the recent publication of the Winter Carnival fable. Apparently the writer of the local fable didn't know his mythology. See the link to the fable in the recent stories at the Winter Carnival main page here at pp.com
I was wondering how publishing the clue with Boreas in it and the fable might tie in.
I could have swore it said something about Boreas being from Olympus. Oh well, no one liked that theory last nite tho. Has the mediallion EVER been in the same park 2 yrs in a row? I gotta know.
Thanks Allison - I guess I will have to go thru the archives in future years to get a head start to rule out certain parks. Which parks would be ruled out - for being in the past 5 yrs?
"boreas" is the greek god of the north wind, as per merriam dictionary

Hey Dogg what do you think so far for this new clue?
Hi all,
I agree that Boreas means north...but are they saying look north to see a tower or two, or look in the north for the park?

Well, maybe it's not good for us all to be on the same track. People think differently and its only human but, some times its for the good

Where is the castle located?
