Went out to Como yesterday as part of Ali's birthday to see Amy's brick that was just placed last week. Talk about a perfect spot. It was a very emotional moment to say the least.
Thank you all so very much for this beautiful and thoughtful dedication.
There's a bonus too, the engraver etched the bricks when they were wet and didn't realize that some of them were different colors. So they're going to make new ones in the spring to replace the darker bricks that are there now. So I get to keep the one that's there now. Two for one! Cooler!
A big thank you goes out to PayMe for her involvement with keeping me informed on what was going on with the placement.
Oddly enough, Cluey.. up north where my friends family lives, I guess they call them Molly's. How fitting that it's our hyper, can't get enough lovin pup's name, huh?

I liked the one where the 100 year old said to appreciate the changes of the seasons because 100 times is not nearly enough times to truly enjoy them. I always think of that around this time of year. Days like today are rare.

Former 93X DJ Tawn Mastrey died Tuesday evening (October 2) in Minneapolis at the age of 53. She had been suffering from the effects of hepatitis C which she contracted as a child. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced soon.
ya she quite that about 6 onths ago I have been keeping up with the story and I know her sister she is from edina and I know her family farly good!!! her sister is the same age as me!!
Both updates are sad. Life really sucks sometimes. And I know exactly what your cousin's family is going through. No matter how much you tell that person you love them and what they meant to you, you always feel as if you forgot to say something when the inevitable day comes.
It's a sad quandary, as much as I tell you guys I love you, I know I wish I would have said it one more time if, God forbid, something happens to one of you.
just getting off the phone with the doctor :frown:
I'm in tears :frown: she's not sick or dying but she's just a little peanut.
Whitney broke a bone in her foot back in December. I took her to the dr. we had just switched over to a new insurance plan that scared me (that HSA - 3m knows what Im talking about) so we didn't have xrays. The dr said she probably sprained it so she was on crutches for awhile. Over time she complains about how her foot hurts - about a month ago she was saying how much it hurt ALL THE TIME! so I made an appointment for her to see a foot dr. - He took an xray and we saw that a bone chipped off and when it tried to grow back it grew into a tendon or something like that. So it couldn't attatch itself back to the bone.
:frown: ---- The dr told me to buy these special shoes and inserts - I bought them and she was to wear them all the time. Well, lately she has been hanging on me constantly, telling me constantly how much her foot hurts. I MEAN ALL THE TIME!!!! .... Dr says it won't heal on its own and she has to have surgery to remove the little bone piece. She will be layed up for a whole month and have to be home schooled! He said she will feel better after the suregery but she will have to probably where a special insert or shoe her whole life! OMG!!!!!
no, it was our choice not to have the xrays cause we would have to pay out of pocket about $1000+. The Dr gave us her opinion that it was probably a sprain by the way she touched it. And remember Doctors "practice" medicine and give advice. Noones perfect. Even with a cast though, it woulda probably healed the same because of where the bone chipped. It woulda grown back in to the tendon either way by the sounds of it- its on the inner right foot (not on the bottom). :frown:
I expressed my concern to the Dr that this new insurance scared me and that we are put in a position to "bargain" with the doctors since we pay out of pocket. And that it places us in a position to question every charge and every detail they do - the insurance companies were paying so much for unneccesary procedures that they thought this would be a good plan -get us to question and say no to things that may or may not be needed - made this situation worse in my opinnion :frown: - The dr worked for a larger firm not just 1 dr there so she even said that billing and how much they charge is out of her hands. she said the xrays would be up around a grand and waiting a couple days would be alright to see how she does. She seemed ok after a while ---then after another while she wasn't :frown:
And yes, Fraidy is alive and scratching.
1/2 way done with the grape harvest. don't make me done yet - I'm not through collecting 60+ hours of Over Time per paycheck yet!
Eh, besides, the way I figure it, if I lost a ton at once, I'd be much more likely to gain it back.
You bet he is! And he is gonna win it too!!!!
Sorry to hear about your cousin iceman... cancer sucks.

This lucky Joe is dedicated to all of us and our families
god damn, man....
Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is."
Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink
I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth
So I've been tryin' ta slow it down
I've been tryin' ta take it in
In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster then you think
So Don't blink
Naw, don't blink
Life Goes Faster Than You Think
Don't Blink...

surgery is set for Nov 8th.
I didn't want her to miss out on Halloween.
sounds like if they would have done x-rays back then, it would have been taken care of, quite a while ago?
