Had my Join Scout night/Pack meeting and rolled out the CD... Will Sulzbach was there and so was Ken Lillemo to help.
Will was impressed as I handed him my Pack Calendar & Budget for the year.
After all was said and done I was getting ready to bring the boys back into the room for the closing when Ken asked to say one more thing to all the parents. He said "you guys may not know this, but you are one of the luckiest packs around... you have someone here with so much knowledge, fun spirit and she is great with people and the boys. Kat brought our roundtables to a new level of excellence and so many in our district look up to her, because we know what ever she touches it's going to be great. Her love for the Scouting program is true and she will never steer you wrong - I think the current parents will agree with me that when you join her pack, you are in for a great year."
Then Ken looked at me and said I am totally serious Kat, Mary & I are in awe of you. Man he made my night - no my year!
But I still am not going back to the district level.
I took out 12 people last night at cards only to get knocked out in 5th it sucked because Ever other hand was pocket pair 10 or higher and most of the time I would come up with a set!! then they moved me and I couldnt get Crap!!! at all and when I did I would get them busted up by a set or something!!! It was crazy for the first 2 hrs of cards last night!!
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of a 5 year old again.
I want to go to McDonald's and think that it is a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples in a pond with rocks.
I want to think M&M's are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big oak tree and watch the ants march up its trunk.
I want to run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to go fishing and care more about catching the minnows along the shore than the big bass in the lake.
I want to think the world is fair.
I want to return to a time when all I knew about were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes; when I didn't know what I know now. When all I knew was to be happy because I was blissfully unaware of all the things that should make me worried.
I want to think that a quarter is worth more than a dollar bill because it is prettier and weighs more.
I want to think that everyone is honest and good. I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things in life again.
I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, dreams, the imagination, the Tooth Fairy, a kiss that makes a boo-boo go away, making angels in the snow, and that parents are the strongest people in the world.
So... here's my checkbook and my car keys, my credit cards and the bills, my 401K statements, my stocks and bonds, my collections, my insurance premiums, my job, my house and the payments, my e-mail address, pager, cell phone, computer, and watch. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this with me further, you'll have to catch me, because...

Well, I packed my bags and bought myself a ticket
For the land of the tall palm tree
    Aloha Old Milwaukee, Hello Waikiki
I just stepped down from the airplane
    When I heard her say,
"Waka waka nuka licka, waka waka nuka licka
Would you like a lei? Eh?"
Chorus
    Let's talk dirty in Hawaiian
    Whisper in my ear
Kicka pooka mok a wa wahini
Are the words I long to hear
Lay your coconut on my tiki
What the hecka mooka mooka dear
    Let's talk dirty in Hawaiian
Say the words I long to hear
It's a ukulele Honolulu sunset
Listen to the grass skirts sway
    Drinking rum from a pineapple
    Out on Honolulu Bay
    The steel guitars all playing
While she's talking with her hands
Gimme gimme oka doka make a wish and wanta polka
    Words I understand Hey!
Repeat Chorus
Well, I boughta lota junka with my moolah
And sent it to the folks back home
I never had the chance to dance the hula
Well, I guess I should have known
When you start talking to the sweet wahini
    Walking in the pale moonlight
    Ohka noka whatta setta knocka-rocka-sis-boom-boccas
Hope I said it right Oh!
Repeat Chorus
Let's talk dirty in Hawaiian
Say the words I long to hear
    spoken: Aloha

Well, I guess I should have known
