I was just talking to my daughter about mailing or registering her button online. She reminded me that last year the post office sent the card to her! I'd forgotten about that. I wonder what would have happened if she'd found the medallion and had a card that was postmarked in time but it had gotten mailed to the address on the back by mistake?
Midnight on the 21st was last night. The midnight coming up is for the 22nd.
At least that's how I read it.
<edit> Now I see. It didn't say midnight at all

First post of the season and it's to ask a favor. Work has taken me out of town but I'll be returning Wednesday night. If we don't have a repeat of last year, I'd love to meet at Matty B's (That is this year's bar, right?) and then, perhaps, go out and dig a bit. The only problem? My gear is still at home and not in my car's trunk. Would anyone be kind enough to let me borrow a pair of snow pants? I'd wear a M or L. I'd really, really appreciate it:) Thanks! And good luck to one and all... Let the Cooler Crew prevail!
I've got lots left and no need to pay for them, donation only. I received enough donations to pay for the ink and printing of 200, and I probably have a little better than 100 left, so let me know how many, and they're yours!
I *really* liked the house in Apple Valley! But after driving all the way down there with the 3 urchins, and walking through and saying how cool the different things were, calling bedrooms, we get in the car and NONE of them want to move out of St. Paul, even for an awesome house in what seems like a nice, safe neighborhood.
So we were cruising around St. Paul while waiting for it to be time to see The Golden Compass, and happen upon an open house in the Highland vicinity. It was HALF the size of the one in AV, nowhere near as nice...for the same price.
Talking over lunch Sunday, perhaps the thing to do, is just sink a ton of $$ into the place we're already in. The 'hood has it's ups and downs, but hopefully it's on an upswing ?.
Mom... could you please save a couple of buttons for ares and I? Apple Valley rocks! We have lived here for a few years now and love it... we have a couple of kids in the Apple Valley schools and have been really happy with them... if you have any questions about the area feel free to give us a call... still crossing our fingers that we get some more "cooler" neighbors out here
I dunno -- I like St. Paul, if we could afford to live in a little safer feeling area.
I work in Burnsville, and Dad in Eden Prarie, so West Bloomington would be ideal, but my mom is in St. Paul....I need to be fairly close to be able to help her out as she needs.
Maybe after 10 years, it's time to find a job closer to home.
also how do we know that inasuitcase needs mens or womens snowpants?
I was gonna see what I could do but then I didnt know.
thanks mikey for helpin out! just like becks letting me use her gloves this year and Mucluck letting me use her snowpants last year. we all share well together
thats interesting. I sent them an e-mail asking if they plan to run the radio station for only the 10 days and only during certain hours??. I'm sure it will be hard to fill 24 hours for 10 days. Mentioned them interviewing Treasure Hunters. I think it'd be cool to hear them out in the snow/park interviewing them instead of just at the station. wonder where the station will be.
Date of button release is usually last Saturday in November/First Saturday in November - it's the same weekend as Grand Days on Grand Ave. (as a button seller let this be known)
As for the Office - not sure how on the ball things are going to be - Volunteers have been running it since Kate Kelly stepped down. The Heritage Board has been working on finding a replacement. Haven't heard anything yet -
Crikey - Now I have visions of the Official Winter Carnival "Sticker" this year. I wouldn't mind lending a creative hand for a possible design - guess I should call and see if they'd let an "outsider" from Woodbury help. Who usually has the thankless task of milling out the Cooler Crew buttons?

I see next year having 3 times as many on-line registrations.
