It been great working with all of you again - Maybe next year it will be one of our years!!! Why don't people buy the darn button? - Jill - P.S. I think Pie and Vegas women need to get together :)
My thoughts are that they used a new clue-writer :) this time around, they never have ever used so many stupid references to streets as they did this year, its a clear sign of inexperience, and lame clue writing. Although somehow he/she knew to put it in newell, after last year, heh, i bet that part was no mistake. And not to mention the accident with the tri-ad-newell thing, that may not have been meant but it sent alotta people there from this board yesterday afternoon/evening, and i would guess today too. I'm glad it was a quick hunt though, shows that it doesnt have to be a 11-12 day hunt every year, which should get people off their duffs sooner. One lesson to be learned, if ya cant match the clues to a certain park, go with the majority ;) Anyone catch the last line in the last clue? lmao-heh well been fun, see yall next year -^^-Okie Dokie-^^-
I thought the PP internet piece said five hours total.Still better than the guy at Como awhile back who wasn't even searching for it.He walks past all the activity, spots it on a hill, and snatches it up.
Being that the medallion was up for 10,000 again this year, they should have had better clues or a better clue writer to make the hunt last longer than ending after only 7 clues.
We're meeting at Newell at 8:00 for a Pity Party. I'm bringing dogs and buns and lots of different mustards, and some chile sauces for ketchup, and some normal mustards and ketchup...
Can you make it???
Got any thing to boil water in for coffee/cocoa???
The writer probably knew that some rookie would go out digging and find it without a registered button or the clues. Or they tipped someone off because they knew the clues they wrote were lame and they wanted to end it.
I drove by both linwood and newell at a about 11:30 today - on my way to Como / Parade with the kids. Five poor souls at LINWOOD - I offered to start a support group.
Cold, I'm willing to bet a buck WW registered his button. The guy's a true Cooler Crew Member and a great digger. He's got the bug bad. There is NO WAY WW would *not* register his button!
I remember now. That was after Woodduck and I spent the better part of two days and a long evening at Newell. We were right about Newell - just a year too early. Maybe next year it'll be at Linwood??!!
OK, everyone, now lets look at the clues.... it has to be at Newell, so whoever is digging anywhere else is a foowell... LOL... now look clue 7 has the names of the streets... and so i'm going there tonight to dig... bye!! (still in MAJOR denial and refuses to accept the coin being found)
They are on the PP web site
Well... I got #6 right, as far as "well-trained eye" and trains and tracks.
Guess I can't have everything! :>
Well, you folks have a good time in Newell Park.Better build a fire.Hey-you could sing campfire songs.
how do you get the clues????
Just thought it would be nice to have something hot to drink on a cold night

I first thought of RR tracks, but mostly discounted it as something not part of or close to a park.Concentrated on tracks for human activity.
Terry, did you email MedallionStallion?

They'd been hunting an hour...
ONE HOUR!!!!!
Unless there's a golf course near Newell Park,I don't see the neccesity to even mention a golf course in Clue#1.

While I should have been out digging, I was in the back yard sawing up an old tree to bring for wood. Let's burn it in effigy.
I CAN"T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!
I gotta say, . . .
there's nothing much to say I guess . . .
I'm heading out to Newell, hopefully someone will bring some kindling and matches.
I had all of the clues nailed!!!!!!
no lie!!!!
I was missing the luck factor.
Huh. Well, no media-induced frenzy this year.
Allison -
I bow to your greater instincts. You were RIGHT. Did teh person who find it use the cooler??
Huh. Well, no media-induced frenzy this year.
heh i feel for ya golden boy :) how was linwood? :)
party at newell----8:00!!!!!!!!tonight!!!!!!!

Allison, you were sure right about what you said last night: the clues being easy and obvious, yet to go with them anyways.
GoldenBoy - i tied emailing your address last night to come out with me and my bud to newell, but i got returned mail from saintlyB :(
Stallion, I yust emailed you.

allison is always right. thats why i reiterate what he says, so i look smart!!!!just kidding!!!!
medstallion- will you be there tonight?
Doc, hit Newell. We're havin'a shin-"dig" there at 8:00 p.m.
Sorry Dave -
Old e-mail address - I should update it. Were you on the cooler last year?
Hey green, do you know if ww has ever registered his button? You seem to know him.
I have a show that I'm going to at my Alma Mater tonight, but I can swing by after depending on how late you'all are there!
yes, we hunted at conway :) i just havent been around much this year
I sure am going to miss those WEB CROSSING errors.... :(
I think it will be late. A lot of sulking to do!
like the idea for a Linwood park support group, heh
Swing by. You never know...

Might I suggest a theme song for the 'pity party'?SEARCHIN' by The Coasters
WEELLLLLLL--I BENNN' SEARCHIN'(OH YEAH)SEARCHIN' EVERYWHIIIIIIICH WAY--YAYYAYYAYYAY---
like how they went with the old-style black and white photograph of the finder, kinda looks like the old pictures from the hunts in the 50's and 60's
I can be there around 10ish. Are we aloud to bring alchohol to a puclic park? I don't know if I could hit NEWELL w/out a drink first . . .
anyone know bandit? is he a *true* hunter? He promised to take me under his wing, and know I havn't seen him. Sob Sob.
green, then how come they said he only gets 5,000 cause he didn't register it. That's what they said on the news.
Dave, you *must* come tonite and sing for us! ;)
Anyone know about what time that fraud found MY medallion?
I went to check on it this afternoon and it was still there at around 3p
I remember now. That was after Woodduck and I spent the better part of two days and a long evening at Newell. We were right about Newell - just a year too early. Maybe next year it'll be at Linwood??!!
no alchohol, at least that is what terry says.

Cold, he got $5,000 for finding it. Guess besides not registering his button, he didn't have his clues on him... Else he'd have gotten $7,500.
