Here some ideas for events that could be done throughout the year. Still a lot of details to be worked out like funding and organization and such. Will need people to help organize events, design puzzles, and even be in charge of some events. Anyone interested email me at allisonwondrland@yahoo.com and we'll see what we can figure out.

January - Medallion Hunt (No explanation needed)

February - Treasure Hunter's Guide Treasure Hunt (one in which you will only need your book to solve, online)

March - Fitger's Bock Hunt (This seems to be the more popular one and a trip could be organized)

April - April Fool Hunt (A tricky daylong online puzzle type thing)

May - Potluck Puzzle Picnic (Bring some food and your thinking cap. A series of puzzling contests will determine who the gold medal winner is)

June - Twin Cities Road Rally (A daylong station to station style treasure hunt where each clue leads you to the next)

July - To be determined

August - The Dog Days of August (Just as August seems to drag on forever, so will this hunt unless you think fast. An extended online/real life hunt that will go on all month)

September - To be determined

October - Bocktoberfest (details to be worked out but the idea is a bock style hunt during the day followed by Octoberfest style festival in the evening.

November - Post-Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt at the Mall of America (Why shop on the busiest shopping day of the year when you can hunt?)

December - To be determined

I am thinking about contacting the St. Trib. about a December hunt. Look out, cause I wanna hide it, write the clues, somewhere in Hennipin county...

The only problem I foresee with a December hunt is that so many people are busy with holiday stuff, they would be quite distracted. If there was going to be a Hennepin Co. hunt, that was to have a distinctive enough identity, it seems it would have to be a summer thing, probably connected to the Aquatennial.

Question:

If we were to start either a club with dues, or a business with a subscription cost, would people be willing to pay, say $25 a year to participate in the above events? (Excluding the Medallion and Fitger's hunts of course) The money would be used to pay for prizes and other expenses.

I think that would work for me Allison. As long as we get everything organized, I think a small fee would work.

Win $10,000

(in Monopoly money that is, along with a Deluxe Version of the Game)

Announcing the Mock Hunt. A virtual Medallion hunt that can be solved entirely by using The Treasure Hunter's Guide and its associated website. Clues will be given out starting February 27th at 7PM. To participate in the hunt, as well as to get information on other activities throughout the year, go to The Allison Wonderland Yahoo club and become a member. There is no charge, although you will need a Yahoo ID (which is also free) to join the club and participate. Feel free to contact me at AllisonWondrland@yahoo.com Hope to see you there.

ATTENTION

I am wondering how many people would be interested in a www.ingeracing.com medallion hunt. It would follow the same general pattern as the winter carnival hunt, except it would take place during the summer, probably in July, and no digging or damage to property would be necessary. The prize would probably be around $300 to $400 and I will sell buttons, probably for $2, and if someone who doesn't have a button finds it, they will get half of the prize. EVERYONE please let me know if they would participate and if anyone has any ideas, please tell me. I think it would be an extremely fun way to promote my website and give all of you hunt gurus another hunt to get excited about.

A medalion hunt in Hennepin Co. in the summer is something we've been waiting for! If you can get permission go for it! If not with the Aquentennial, try the Hennepin County Fair-they might go for it.

Allison- we've been thinking about holding a hunt on our land up north, 45 Acres near Virginia. Something small, a weekend in winter, maybe the beginning of January to get some practice in before the winter carnival

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the winners from the button giveaway? I listened to kdwb from 8-10 this morning like it said to on the card we sent in to register our buttons, but like the last three years they never mentioned it. when we call and ask they are just rude! Does the Pioneer Press post it somewhere? I thought I'd be able to find it on the internet, but no luck yet. Can someone please help me?

I was actually thinking I would keep it in Ramsey county just like the winter carnival hunt. I think that the Ramsey county parks, St. Paul in particular, are some or the best anywhere.

Well...

My opinion(s)?

I think Jake and Allison oughtta team up. Combine forces intead o'like compete. More bang for the buck, great minds, etc., etc.

Also, I'm telling you, insurance, insurance, insurance.

Be careful what you think up/promote in the real world. As little folks you/us/we don't have the wherewithall to fight any kind'a litigation... And there are crazies out there that make Us Way Cooler Crazies look like the true begnin critters we are.

A good idea izz to pedal a Hunt to *THAT* city to the west... Like, as said, during the Aquatenial... You guys/we/us could assist them.

T'would be nice to see The Twin Cities become the Med Hunting Capital o'The World!

But I'll not help with *THAT* city... I've made my alligence and am gonna stick with it. I've one true love and will promote THAT to my death.

Otay, OTAY! So I'm a sorry romantic slob!

HAPPY (Terry & Inks) VALENTINES DAY TO ALL! :)

As a matter of fact, my schedule is still open for July if Jake wants to team up, but it sounds like his event is meant to promote his racing. However, if that were the case, it seems to me like some sort of road rally might make more sense.

King Marley, funny you should mention that. I was just thinking of something exactly like that. Some type of hunt event up north, outdoors. Perhaps in that week between Christmas and New Year's? A lot of people have that off anyway. Or maybe in September when its still a bit warmer.

And Rush, Jake, King Marley, Green and the rest of you, checkout the Yahoo Club I started. I hope to have it be a center for information on hunts around the cities, including the ones we plan ourselves. Its at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/theallisonwonderland or just click here. I hope to send out formal invitations to everyone within the next few days.

And don't forget about the "Mock Hunt" starting on the 27th. All you need is a computer and a Treasure Hunter's Guide (still available for purchase if you need one). Oh, and you do need to join the club to do the hunt, though there is no charge for that.

Just wanted to remind anyone reading this that the Mock Hunt begins on Sunday. Its a virtual Medallion Hunt that you can solve from home using your wits and with the aid of maps or more like The Treasure Hunter's Guide. But to participate, you will need to go to the Yahoo club I created for treasure hunting (no charge, its just easier than trying to run the thing from here) You can get there by clicking right here. The prize may me modest but the clues will be challenging so if you're up for some noodling, come take a look!

Look! A new message! I'm here to announce the 2nd event of our little Treasure Hunting club- The All Across America Easter Egg Hunt. Luckily travel expenses will be kept to a minimum as this hunt you can do from the comfort of your own home. On Saturday, April 22nd, at Noon the hunt will start with the posting of the clues. There are 24 clues in all each leading to a different egg in a different state. Identify the state from the clue and write down the number representing the order in which it was admitted into the Union (for example Delaware would be 1 for being the first state, Minneota would be 32, Hawaii would be 50 and so forth). When you've found all the eggs, add up the numbers and it will give you a clue to the hiding spot of the Grand Prize Egg (more details will be given with the clues on Saturday). The first person to find the Grand Prize Egg and post its location in the club will win a prize of $50 in cash. To participate, all you need to do is join our treasure hunting club (at no charge, though you do need a Yahoo account which is also no charge). So get ready to put your knowledge of America to the test and win $50!

I'm ready...or almost anyways. Need to do some research and have all the information at hand once this starts.

Thanks, Allison! The last hunt was done very well. You did a nice job. I'm certainly looking forward to this one.

Martin Heldt, Chief Obfuscator in Charge of Funeral Stalking.

If you need a cyber-feline stalked - Martin Heldt is your man!

Fri, 05/12/2000 - 9:41 PM Permalink
THX 1138

What was Heldt going to do with Peaches home address, phone number and name?

She despised the man. He went to a lot of time and effort to find her name address and telephone number.

What was Martin heldt - Professional Funeral Stalker - going to do with the information on that woman?

Thank God, Repo made us all aware of it!

THX 1138

Martin Heldt has pulled an incredible amount of insane dirty tricks on posters!!

Do you think it is a mere coincidence that Sloop and Repo have been getting so many crank phone calls that they had to change their home phone numbers?

Of course not, internet-stalker-extrordinaire, Martin Heldt with his able bodied assistants Mindbomb, THX, Tia, and Carole Galt have been busy on the revenge path for 3 months.

All because Carole and Martin got tripped up in their internet stalking games. Tsk-Tsk. If Marty and his lieutenants would agree to stop this could all end this morning.

THX 1138

Marty wants to keep the games going. Fine Marty, you could end this anytime you want but your ego is way too big. Your friend Jaynie/Carole Galt wants to play *dumb* and act as though she doesn't know what a funer sniffer is. OK, I'll play along:

There once was a lady that posted on these boards that didn't get along real well with our boy Martin - her cyber-name was Peaches. Martin was so angry at her that he wanted to find out her full name and address and phone #. One day she made an innocent post about attending a funeral in (I think Clear Lake) Iowa. Martin did some research and using info that he already knew about her was able to ascertain which funeral it was that she was attending. He then gleaned her name from the list of survivors/attendees. Armed with her name he did a search on the internet and found her address and phone #. Then he passed it along to his buddies who he hoped would use it to assist him in harrassing and stalking her.

Martin Heldt - Class Act.

We should be re-running Carole Galt's story for her internet stalking games as well.

But since her employer fired her ass for it we'll leave her alone. Except to state the following:

Any posters who are tempted to interact with the poster who posts as JaynieDoe, Lisa Douglas, Muffin, Sasette Smurf, etc...beware. Her real name is Carole A. Galt. She pulled a pretty crappy maneuver on a poster here via her workplace. They fired her. She's been burning with revenge ever since.

Nuff said.
