My friend Brent and I made it out to Kaposia for the first discin of the year today! We had the course pretty much to ourselves. The course is pretty much the same, they put stairs in the ravine on 16, and the basket for 17 is now right across the street from the 18th tee instead of way up on top of the hill.
Anyone Got A map of the Holes the Last time I went out to play it I had a bunch of People Pissed off At me for going the wrong wya and being all twisted up and wrong!! lol
But It was only like 7 years since I played it before that!!!
Thinkin' of Discin' Highland this weekend. The wife is out of town with a co-worker for a relatives' wedding. I get to be a bachelor for about 72 hours.
This once a week exercise at softball just ain't working. I'm more sore than I've been in a long time. I need to use my throwing arm more.
okay so my favorite disc - the ace racer 05 timmy gill is official and now called Impact. it's different though - mine doesn't have the ridges and the orange is easy to find in the woods but uuugly! I don't. I found other colors on EBay however this Impact doesnt have the divit on the top. huh. I want another one of these and can't find it :frown:
I'm home for Memorial Day weekend - discin' Kaposia sounds like a goal. Spring is always better to go out before the mosquitoes take over. Let's keep track of the skies and see who's still in town this weekend. Hopefully frostbite won't be a problem, either!
we're pirating from one of our neighbors, who has an unsecured connection... so our "cost" is free....
you cant actually download any thing, since there is no computer/hard-drive on it.... just some internal memory and space storage for game downloads from Wii shop, and a few pictures...
Almost any site works on it pretty well.... although some flash or javascript crap wont....
youtube works fine... myspace, google....
Nintendo hasnt created a way for AIM yet....
BUT
there are people/sites who have figured ways around that...
I use aimonpsp.com which is a site meant to be used with PSP.... or I use meebo.com
The built in browser is a real crappy beta version of Opera, which doesnt open up more than one window at a time... but I found a site where a guy created a hack so you can use multiple tabs (like firefox)... solves that problem for me.... so I can use AIM and still surf the net....
the onscreen keyboard sucks.... so I reccomend getting a USB keyboard - there are two USB slots on the back of it...
it also has an SD memory card slot on it, so you can save pictures to the Wii's picture board
If you feel like droping by, to check it out, let me know.... we'd be happy to let ya mess around with it, if your interested...
Has anyone here played C.P. Adams Park in Hastings? That pdg.com site makes it look interesting. It has a variety of holes / lengths and most of them are open enough you don't need a machete to play.
I've been trying to find a good course map for the Disc Golf Courses in the St. Cloud Area. St. Cloud has three courses, and there are a few more in St. Joseph, Becker, Foley and Sauk Rapids.
Here is a map of Riverside. It is by far the best/most popular. The problem is that the park as a whole is too popular. It is across the river from St. Cloud State, and adjacent to the famous Munsinger / Clemens Rose Gardens. It gets used heavily on the weekends for weddings, reunions, picnics and the like. Try to imagine playing disc golf through the middle of Battle Creek's picnic area on a weekend. When I worked up there I would play just about every evening Monday thru Thursday.
CP Adams is a larger city type course. Not many challenges. But it's better than Highland if you like cut grass and longer holes.
Have you played North Valley or Kaposia yet? Those are probably the best parks around for DG. Practice on the smaller ones then play one of those parks to get the real feel of the game. There's a reason why Kaposia is the most popular DG park in the midwest. But it does suck sometimes when newbies do their learning there on a weekend.
My grandchildren will be going to the new school. My daughter just finished doing the boys' bedroom in Park colors and even made wolf paw shelves for their trophies. Not sure what kind of shelves she can make out of raptor claw prints.
But the oldest is excited because apparently their football field is going to be a bowl.
The only one I know of close to Woodbury is in Cottage Grove.
BTW - is Highland Disc Golf construction DONE done or just 'kinda' done?
Anyone know if Highland Disc Golf construction is DONE done or just 'kinda' done?
oh and I don't know the answer

Can I get that removed with 409? Or do I need something more harsh like bleach or Acetone? :goofy:

I wonder why they put stairs by 16? Maybe we'll be going down there once again in the near future?

Heck, how do you think I practice in the off season? :sheepish:
Sorry I can't make it though. I'm dying to get out there. Nada next weekend too. :frown: Busy summer this year.

kinda a good game - now I'm reminded of the first days of the season where my side muscle hurts from throwing so much.
TOO MANY teenagers out there yesterday.
Ouch! :ooh:
Not a lot of glass pieces out there, but it only takes one to ruin it.
literally at the last 2 throws! grrrrr :frown:
