Come and have some fun at the 2006 Aquatennial Disc Sports Festival. This event will take place in beautiful Sunset Hill Park on Theodore Wirth Parkway N. (and 26th) in north Minneapolis on Saturday, July 22, 2006, 9:00am - 6:00pm.
I was wondering about Theo Park last week for both types of golfing but I don't want to go there alone.
I've been thinking in the back of my mind about getting a group of us together this Sunday if anyone wants, or next Sunday if that works better. Anyone? tim? wn? kitch? cm? becksie? redbear? 3m?
I can't disc tomorrow before 7 so if anyone may want to go then than give me a call or egram, otherwise we should plan a day this week or next Sunday. I can disc on Monday anytime and Thursday is open again in the morning and evening.
talk about relaxing ...it took 2 days for me to realize that the game made me completely forget to get home to watch Windfall and another show I wanted to catch! it really takes my mind off of things
good luck --- just remember when you play that first hole... I got a 3  what did you get again?
being close only counts in games like bocce ball.... which, by the way - if anybody decides to go play, i'm totally game for.... I've been a pro at that since I was a little kid.
Ive gotta try to make it out and hook up with you guys again for some discin' though....its damn addicting
hmmmmm, I wonnnnder why he lost track of the scores
Ummmm Maybe because it was dark and we couldn't finish the game. Plus, I wanted to spare you your actual score. I figured you were bummed out enough already since you were late. :eyeroll:
OK OK - I was the one who was late - but sweetie - we walked past 5 holes on the way back to the parking lot. I guess you wouldn't know since you were busy trying to add up all your shots on the holes we did play.
Hey Timmers - Help the little girly girl out will ya?
Me and Steve hit Kaposia EARLY this morning... like around 8-9.... and we stunk the place up.... it probably still reeks from how badly we sucked.....
twas his first game though, and now he's almost as addicted as I am...
If you guys are planning on heading out to play like... next sunday, or anything.... let me know? you may have two more people for the group, if its okay?
I went out there with a friend and his kid at 5:00 and had one of my best games. Unfortunately we ended up skipping those same holes because his kid was getting tired. Oh, well.
My bro posts all kinds of stats on his site and I never looked at the dream round link next to our stats. It's a game of what it would look like if we got our best scores on each hole for the entire game. DAMN!!
A 38!! Fricken Cool!
Kaposia
South St. Paul, Minnesota
...........HOLE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 OUT 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 IN TOT
It's only a matter of time before I birdie 8 and 17. I've hit chains a couple of times so far. #12 is one of the shortest holes but I just can't seem to get it through the trees.
I still have my #3 ACE disc mounted in my dart room. I used it once after getting it and almost lost it but looked for it for 2 hours straight as the guys played another round. Never again.
so is it at Garlough or the walk over to Marthaler? that would be cool but its hard to beat Kaposia. Id like to get over the that one off of 70th? or 80th? north&south again when anyone wants to go. I thought that last weekend may have been the last time out for the year but so far the weathers holding up.
3ms arm is messed up
kitch and jakes backs are out
becks doesnt really like to go all the time :frown:
me and a friend found this one the other night, while out that way for a party...
Its a tiny one... and when I say tiny... I mean tiny...
small 9 hole course...
Its good for practice....
we found it from robert street... going south, turned right - on the road by Holiday, and drove for like maybe 5 minutes.... when you hit the intersection where the nature center is, turn right again - theres a big sign that says "Garlough park".... the school is just up on the right.....
you'll wanna pull into the lot and go way down to the end of the lot.... the 1st hole is right by there.....
I dont recommend checking the place out at night either.... we could only find like 4 holes... and couldnt figure out why the place was so small...
plus... everybody knows that the woods are scary at night.
right by the first hole, they have a mailbox lookin thing on a post....
inside of it, they have a map of the course, and score-cards for you to use....
I thought that was pretty cool
the back of the sheet lists a buncha businesses that the course is "sponsered by"...
stepped out of work the other day to go home and as I cross the street into the Peanuts Park (downtown St Paul) I find a disc upside down on the ground- practically in the street. It has a huge burn mark in the center that goes all the way through (from some idiots cigarette) - I wonder how it will fly??? probably to become one of my favorites if it flies funky.
Its a Innova - white - Star Teebird fairway driver - no weight
if you want I can tell you where theres a ton of them lol!!! if you want to play a little freeway hopsotch!!! they are in the center meding of 65 by the foot bridge by that corse thats by that lake LOL!!!! is that good enugh for finding them lol I see 5 or 6 there every day and keep saying to my self if I ever get hung up in traffic I am going to hop out and grab them!!!
Funny how there hasn't been any posting in here for a couple of months and then there's some activity today. The day I couldn't wait to post that I bought a new bag. I love it! It even has a flip out beverage holder. Plus it holds all the discs I ever use.
This sounds cool. Nice area too.
Anybody up for a round at Kaposia later on?

Hey Timmers - Help the little girly girl out will ya?
 :eyeroll:
yeah jana, if you weren't kidding we skipped I think 12,13,14,15 because it was too dark and we wanted to get the last 3 in.
twas his first game though, and now he's almost as addicted as I am...
If you guys are planning on heading out to play like... next sunday, or anything.... let me know? you may have two more people for the group, if its okay?

It's Minnesota's 100th course, pushing it ahead of Iowa and Texas to give it more courses than any other state but California.
I'd like to check that place out.
I was thinking of opening a park like that on my own- thanks for posting that!

Is that at that small Garlough Park course?
I think if theres good weather this weekend, we might play there, just for the hell of it...
and maybe even if theres crappy weather too... I aint afraid of no snow.
The only part at Kaposia that I dont like, is the "pit of death".... where my disc ended up that time I went with you?....
everydamntime that I play it, I always end up climbing down there.
I guess my disc just naturally hangs to the left.

and its at Como...
other than that, it sounds like a fun event.
The hole in one deal sounds cool...
