we've had what, 4 or 5 ideas in the last half-hour here, each one about a different piece of the clue, any of which could be the ticket. i figure at most 2 of them are correct; mom doesn't give us that much in the first clue. so which ones are the right ones, and which ones were put there to make us overanalyse?
Our beloved St. Paul is the place for gold....... The puck is not gold, so what is ? Beloved ? Do they refer to the Capital as the beloved ? anyone else want to share on this ?
ok-back from McGovern's--it is really great to see the crew. These are a great bunch of people. Really. I will give this out--it's in a big park. The clue writer seems angry that it was found so early last year. I say no rec centers. Hidden Falls is my early handicapping guess--based on nothing!!!!! Green, Treasure Guide, Terry, Tim*, Allison, Annete, DDy, Dad, E&h mom, WW, Marley King, Tiny Thumbs, Electric Duane, Terry, Inks, and whomeever I am forgetting, you are really good people! Think big park, or Downtown. This clue is a throwaway--thank God it's in St. Paul.
While leaving McGoverns, I stepped on a wad of gum, and the medallion was stuck to my shoe. You can stop noodling now. Goodnight to all of you in coolerland.
My read of the first clue - it's in St. Paul...not necessarily a park...no mention of golf courses yet...bold could mean thinking outside the box...on your toes could have something to do with ballerinas????
What a great evening! Sure wish those of you who couldn't make it had been there. It was memorable to say the least.
Jake - Thanks for all the hard work you did with the Jeopardy game!
AnnetteB - Great meeting you! Glad you came!!!
Meeting new folks - putting faces with names - the stories - the finders - the noodling - the buttons - the laughs - the old friends - the new friends - what could possibly be better?
As the first clue reads - GOOD LUCK to one and all. May a cooler crew member find it this year!!!
That's what would be better! If we could have met everyone.
For those of you who didn't make it tonight, remember we do a rehash bash in the park where the medallion is found on Sunday, February 4th about noon. It's pot-luck so when you're tired of noodling clues you can noodle what you might want to bring to the picnic.
Terry-I am only being half facetious--tonight, for after tavern, I have soup--homade from pork bones softened earlier today, homemade noodles, carrots, onions and celery. I may be a 33 year old bachelor, but I make very good soup. Night All--Next clue will come soon.
When the pre-hunt partygoers give their reports, I'll be ready to post a story at coolercrew.com. This Water Cooler and coolercrew.com should be getting some press in the morning paper. Sorry if the story makes it sound like I do all the work. Blame the PP editors, because I know this board and the mild success of coolercrew.com has so much more to do with group rather than individual. Good luck to all of you. I hope to see some of you folks out in the snow next week. I'll be the one with the big, ugly, bright orange Tampa Bay Buccaneers jacket (old logo). I couldn't bear to wear the Vikings jacket this year, so I thought I'd show my wishful thinking by displaying an image of the Super Bowl home team.
ssp, that's funny, yes, the right person should find it this year, ME
The word "line" is used quite a bit in this clue..ideas?
we've had what, 4 or 5 ideas in the last half-hour here, each one about a different piece of the clue, any of which could be the ticket. i figure at most 2 of them are correct; mom doesn't give us that much in the first clue. so which ones are the right ones, and which ones were put there to make us overanalyse?
Which "line" were you doing when you saw that???
huh, ssp?
Our beloved St. Paul is the place for gold....... The puck is not gold, so what is ? Beloved ? Do they refer to the Capital as the beloved ? anyone else want to share on this ?
Sorry--was thinkin' of something else; it's already getting to me!
they was smokin'
yeah they was smokin'
first letter of each line spells good luck and I think thats about all thats in this clue
are you sure the puck isn't gold (colored)? the golden anniversary is generally the 50th?? perhaps they changed it this year?
And what is really BOLD
That's not likely that they changed the color of the puck.
Well: beloved, June, gold (rings): weddings?
Night all, happy hunting.
I am also stuck on bold.
well, now we've got a reason for the "hints" mom's dropped. she needed them to spell out "good luck"
Do they still have those gold horses on top of the state capital?
night leela.
and on that note, g'night to everyone else, too.
good night ares and ...GOOD LUCK
Bold gold, yes that's what i'm thinking. Beloved, also thinking about wedding, gold steeple.
another thought, if the clues spell out Good Luck, that could refer to horseshoes.
guess i'll have to wait for someone to get home from the party..
any noodles will do.........Hello
horseshoes could be put on a horses toes (hooves)
well GOOD LUCK to all and GOOD NIGHT, sleep well for tomorrow we hunt.
or a place with a horseshoe pit, yes, they sound good
good nigt to you then, i'm staying up for awhile, i took a nappy

it's gotta be up high for you to keep on your toes
??? keep on your toes ????????
keep on your toes, that soundes good, on your toes = high

sorry i didn't get to meet any of you, i'll see ya in the park.
It's OK, riv--the parks are where the action is.
That's what would be better! If we could have met everyone.

I think I will bring.....Noodles.
Poker hand Joe. You would think Mom would have started a new thread today........
Noodles are good!
Terry-I am only being half facetious--tonight, for after tavern, I have soup--homade from pork bones softened earlier today, homemade noodles, carrots, onions and celery. I may be a 33 year old bachelor, but I make very good soup. Night All--Next clue will come soon.
And for good measure--really good poker hand Joe.

That soup sounds good to me!
I think I'm going to try to unwind and watch something mindless on television till I fall asleep.
Goodnight, GOOD LUCK, SCMDs!!!!
Greg - the story is already up! Check out the Winter Carnival link at the top of this page to find it.
And Tony!!! Lurk no more!!! It was wonderful meeting you tonight!!!!
Yep, read the story. (But it's still more fun to see it in the paper.)
