gggggooooodnesss

the home nurse came out, gave the new antibiotic that takes an hour to run through, twice a day. She looked at his ankle and thought he should have an xray cause it was so swollen (St Joes . He was in so much pain. :frown: so, another trip to the ER yesterday afternoon. Woodwinds this time. coincidentally we were placed back in the same room this whole thing began in on July 31st....ROOM 8. (note his surgery was 8/8/:ooh:.

The ER doc was pretty easy going and helpful. He sat down and explained that he thought his swollen ankle was not broken and not heart related (worries about blood clotting beginning in the ankles is always a worry, I guess, with the heart). He reverted back to CM having the Reumetoid Arthretis :frown: and that it takes over joints with no warning for no reason and hurts like hell. So another confirmation that he has this (the first time we went in to the Urgent Care, back on July 29th, Dr. Stacie thought he had the beginning stages of it and was going to treat for it). Now the bad news about it, He cannot be treated for it because he is on so many medications during the first 30 days of the heart suregery that they have to wait unitl the "worry" period or "grace" period is over before they can begin to treat it. JUST LIKE THE BACK DR. - and in retrospect, his back pain may be BOTH the disc problem AND the R. Arthritist. But WHY NOW?! why did the arthritist start flaring NOW? why not 6 months ago or 2 years ago? Just amazing how the heart problems AND the Arthritist symptoms all happened at the same time which has made it difficult to give correct diagnisis'. One great thing that happened last night though was the wwwwonderful rack of ribs that kitch cooked up for him. yyyyummie!!! thanks kitch for doing that. after another day of unexpected pain and running around it was very much appreciated and needed. Anything all of you have done has been appreciated.

He had a painful evening, he kept his foot up most of night. This morning he seemed warm and was gonna take his temp and try to kick back and sleep or watch tv all day. hopefully no interuptions today...fingers crossed. expect for Timmers. Timmers has a hall pass to stop by today.

they had a little kick of hot to them and reminded me of when I was a kid and went camping. The smokey bonfire smell after camping a couple days with grandma. Not the backyard bonfire smell when you stand next to it and it gets in your clothes smell. They tasted like ham. He didn't have any BBQ sauce so we got the full flavor you soaked them in. ty.

Did they do a urinalysis to test for gout? Gout is often misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis. And the ankle is one of the main sites that gout attacks.

A natural treatment for gout is cherry juice. Not juice as in Juicy Juice, but 100% tart cherry juice. He should be able to drink that while taking his antibiotics. They sell it at Knowlans as Indian Summer Montmorency Cherry Juice. Its in the bottled juice aisle, not in the refrigerated section. My doctor recommended it for arthritis also and said that it works really well for gout pain and is a good antitoxin even if you don't have these maladies.

Hope you start feeling better soon, CM.

thats right, the doc mentioned gout but made it sound like it was part of the arthritis. Thanks for the idea of Cherry juice. I'll grab some on my way over there after work.

I always thought Gout was something grandma got or someone in the civil war era got - it just sounds so icky. It sounds like that is exactly it though. His foot got all stiff last night and he couldn't move it. Not exactly the part of the body you want that happening to :sheepish:

I forgot the doc mentioned that in another form of arthritist.

What I didn't read though was, Does it go away or is it a lifetime thing.

I didn't hear that anywhere

I'm normal :goofy:

We've got a bottle of Marachino cherries in the fridge, but that ain't juice they are swimming in - I think it's Bacardi 151.

Be sure to get pure sour cherry juice. None of that blended stuff or anything that doesn't list cherry juice first in the ingredients. The stuff at Knowlans in SSP is pure cherry juice and on the way from your place to his.

You can avoid gout with diet. Ares' link has good information on what to eat and what to stay away from. Anyone remember Maggie and Jiggs? Poor Jiggs used to get a flare up of gout after eating corn beef and cabbage.

It's a done deal. I picked up some juice and delivered it. I needed an excuse to see CM anyway and I know its hard to find that stuff so figured I'd get it where I knew they had it.

I'll post soon, though - making plans for a September trip to MN.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

well my heart knows me better than I know myself

so I'm gonna let it do all the talking.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

I came across a place in the middle of nowhere

with a big black horse and a cherry tree.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

I felt a little fear, upon my back

I said don't look back, just keep on walking.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

But the big black horse said look this way

and said,'' Hey little lady will you marry me? ''

but I said no, no, no, no-no-no

I said no, no, you're not the one for me

no, no, no, no-no-no

I said no, no, you're not the one for me

(ooooo,woo-hoo)

and my heart hit a problem, in the early hours,

so I stopped it dead for a beat or two.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

but I cut some cord, and I shouldn't have done that,

and it won't forgive me after all these years

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

so I sent to a place in the middle of nowhere

with a big black horse and a cherry tree.

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

but it won't come back, cause it's oh so happy

and now I've got a hole for the world to see yeah

(woo-hoo,woo-hoo)

and it said no, no, no, no-no-no

It said no, no, you're not the one for me

no, no, no, no-no-no

It said no, no, you're not the one for me

(whoo-hoo,woo-hoo)

said no, nah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

you're not the one for me

nah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

you're not the one for me

(Kazoo break)

big black horse and a cherry tree

I can't quite get there cause my heart's forsaken me

big black horse and a cherry tree

I can't quite get there cause my heart's forsaken me
