Does Maplewood Mall have any place that sells blinky buttons? Seems like its a growing industry and I'm curious what else is out there.

I went to the Superamerica on County Road E and White Bear Ave. SA is a sponsor and the website says buttons are available at all metro locations. This one is a metro location and it's even in Ramsey County.

Nope! They told me they are owned by Freedom and do not sell Winter Carnival buttons. Before leaving, I checked the building and sure enough, it said Superamerica.

I wonder if the St. Paul Winter Carnival knows that?

BTW......last time I go to that SA.

heh.

and good one ian- I was trying for that too.

I can't beleive there are already almost 5000 buttons registered.

Kat, is there a way you can find out if thats true? OR did they start at a high number or just keep going from last year? wow!

at $5 a button - thats $25 grand?

what does the button money go towords this year?

This what I know -

Winter Carnival Buttons are the next major source of income next to sponsorships... all $$ going to help support the various events.

This year we had some 20,000 buttons to sell. At last report we had to ordered another 1000 to complete some 4 packs and it looks as though we may be selling out which hasn't been done in several years.

I can find out registration number for those curious people...

I'm glad they added the online registration. A few years ago the registration post cards were made from really flimsy paper and they were getting jammed, torn, misdirected, stuck to other mail pieces. (I work for the Saint Paul post office) We use automated machines to sort the mail and when you get non-standard mail pieces they tend to get shredded.

I knew I wasn't being too paranoid mailing 4 different cards from 4 different locations!

Yeah, I use to walk my postcards to the manual sorting unit to be safe. The last couple of years the post cards have been fine.
