Awwww shucks guys, Thanks! It is really nervewracking every year to put those together....wondering if it'll be "good enough"....Terry does a great job of fine tuning! I am NOT a very artistic or creative person
And no worries about keeping a supply -- you guys are much more likely to be out and about than I (and I think I speak for Terry) am, at least during the week. I have a bunch more if you need them for passing around.
I got a guy at Mickeys the other night to trade me his 2009 NorthWind button for a cc button. I had to show him becks 2008 11th annual to convince him it was Winter Carnival authentic
There again are 4 button designs - King Boreas, Vulcans, Klondike Kate and the 4th this year is dedicated to the Bouncing Team (in an attempt to get them more involved with Carnival again)...
Should you buy a 4 pack - there is a bonus pin dedicated to the MEDALLION HUNTERS!!!!
Buttons are still $5 each and $20 for the 4 pack and will be available starting December 5th (sorry not any sooner as they are still being packaged up to that date).
Lots of coupons this year in the button book that actually may be used (free kids admission with a paying adult to the science museum, buy one get one at the ordway, coffee at caribou... etc)
Also new this year: a Blinking button of either the boreas or vulcan that is attached to a lanyard (instead of a pin).. these are sold individually at $7.50 each (i think).
As last year - I will be selling buttons and will have them with me most of the time and I am willing to meet you somewhere too.
I will be heading to the Fridley Community Center to pick up a Santa Suit. The event ends at 2 or 3 (I gotta check on that) so that's when I need to be there to get it....
hmmmmm I've been going there lately since I found out my high school friend bought it. Maybe CM and I can meet you and Diggs there Tuesday just before we have to bowl.
My calander is booked near full for Dec and I won't make the Pearl or any of the other meeting op's. This would be MY chance to party with the cooler ...please say yes and stop in on your ways home - happy happy!
We probably won't make it. Pennys side is having christmas that weekend. (thanks for the birthday reminder though)
I can't make it to Diggins thing either because a guy at work had a stroke. Means I'm on 2nd shift the rest of the year and have to work 6 12 hour days (6pm to 6am) christmas week. :barf: Kinda sucks since I worked thanksgiving and am scheduled for New Years too.
The five 2010 Saint Paul Winter Carnival Buttons will be unveiled in Grand style by Mayor Coleman and representatives from the Carnival. This revealing event is part of the annual Grand Meander festivities.
10:30 am - Salut Bar Americain - 917 Grand Avenue, St. Paul
And I will be there with buttons for sale!!
New this year:
BLINKIE BUTTONS.. For $7 you can buy a button that blinks and is attached to beads. These buttons will also have a registration card and work just like the other buttons.
Blinkie Buttons are limited (only 3000) and can be purchased from the Tax Collectors or the Winter Carnival Merchandise Store.
I think they turned out very nice.
But then I always think they are super.
