2009 Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt

Submitted by KITCH on
Clue #1
Just a small stunt to start off our hunt:
A name from treasure hunt history
Guides you in St. Paul, to a park after all
And with a slingshot solves the mystery.

Clue #2
Get out and go search high and low
But keep a little elevation
The thing most key; that you can see
A landmark singular sensation.

Clue #3
When there is snow down you will go
Pushing yourself along ever faster
But the end of the drop it seems has a dead stop
Where your hunt just might end in disaster

Clue #4
A city or two will come into view
Where you see the sky turn hot vermillion.
As towers glisten, stop there and listen
The nearby treasure’s one in a billion.

Clue #5
The son of Sam in this exam
Is not a killer with a gun.
It’s but a clue to lead you to
Where no trials are ever won.

Clue #6
You don’t need to balk, just go for a walk
And be ready when the game commences
You won’t feel dismay if your field of play
Also includes going for the fences.

Clue #7
A couple of dots, a couple of lots
And with success you shall flirt.
To get the prize it would be wise
To keep off the kiddies’ dirt.

I should remind everyone quick too that the Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt starts this Sunday! And that of course means a kickoff party. The plan is to meet in the bar area at Fabulous Fern's, preferably by the games, starting at 6pm. I'll give the clue out at 7pm. Registration is $10 which of course all goes towards the prize money. I'll guarantee at least a $200 prize. If you can't make it on Sunday, you still have until the release of the 4th clue.

I'm going to be in DC this weekend so I won't be able to make it! :crying: This sucks because the tortellini at Fern's is usually the best part of AW's hunt  I'll send my registration $$$ along with someone else.

hhmmm, going to try and spoil that for you.

However I only have 5 days so I will have to get very lucky to find it.

That is plenty of time. BFG is coming back from his trip around clue 3, so I plan on finding it by then

By my count we are up to 17 registered hunters so far for this hunt. Here's the official list so everyone can be sure whether they are on it or not:

New Daddy

Mikey (3M)

Tim the Hunter

Leelabell

Terry Valentine

Mike (from my singles club)

Muckluck

Magpie

Kat

Becksie

MnM

Bobby

Erin

Steven

Regman

Nick (a different one)

Iceman/Cereal Killer

I apologize for any spelling mistakes. Also, it's not too late to register. If you'd like to register and haven't yet, just let me know and we'll make arrangements. You have until the 4th clue is released to register. As it is, I've taken in enough money that I think it's now safe to officially declare the prize will be $250 if found by a registered hunter (otherwise it is $100).

Homemade slingshots are traditionally made out of a forked branch from a tree.

Mad_Dach5und

That would be a double-barrel slingshot. I know there's no gun barrel involved - just roll with it...

Just checking in, I see the first clue is out.

I will have to noodle this.

So is anyone else going to be looking to register that I need to make arrangements with? If you're not registered, don't feel like you can't still go out and look. You still get a $100 for finding it. Not everyone can afford to chip money in these days but the hunt is still for everyone. The extra money will just go towards another hunt.

[Boys]

One singular sensation

Every little step he takes.

One thrilling combination

Every move that he makes.

One smile and suddenly nobody else will do;

You know you'll never be lonely with you know who.

One moment in his presence

And you can forget the rest.

For the guy is second best

To none,

Son.

Ooooh! Sigh! Give him your attention.

Do...I...really have to mention?

And you know from her

Maddening pose, effortless whirl,

Stroll-ing,

Can't, help,

All of her qualities extol-ling.

Loaded with charisma is my

Jauntily sauntering, ambling shambler.

She walks into a room

And you know you must

Shuffle along, join the parade.

She's the quintessence of making the grade.

This is whatcha call

Trav-ling.

Oh, strut your stuff!

Can't get enough

Of her.

Love her.

I'm a son of a gun,

She is one of a

I think it was in a sock in the snow. One year it was in a fake rock. He's had some years where there was no snow.

jake wrote a clue????

is this right???
Tue, 03/03/2009 - 1:02 PM Permalink

That would be correct. He told us Sunday evening that he wrote it and that Allison polished it.

He also said the history name wasn't about himself.

Allison Wonderland

My email for Paypal is AllisonWondrland@yahoo.com for anyone looking to register that way. And yes, Jake originally wrote the first clue and then I rewrote it a bit.

The clue may come out a bit early tonight, like 6:45.
