southwest may not. i'm flying on nwa/delta frequent flyer miles. won't even be on the same plane as them.

but i will be leaving msp later and getting to bwi only a few minutes after them, and leaving bwi later and getting back at msp earlier because i don't have to lay over at mdw

oh my goodness - THANK GOODNESS

I thought I was getting the shaft on my unemployment - thinking I had no taxes taken out and they were paying me approx $50 less a month for no reason I knew of.... turns out they finally have a payment history posted online and it shows the deductions!!!! so I am paying taxes on the money ...funny how I'm paying MORE/DOUBLE in to taxes than they are giving me in Stimulus each week.

but I'm happy. NEVER been happy before about paying taxes. I was worried how I was gonna pay my taxes again come 2010.

after 2 weeks of waiting, finally having my first iphone app (cheesy though it may be) approved for sale in the app store. its a lousy little stopwatch, that nearly 100% duplicates the functionality of the built-in stopwatch so i half-expected it to get rejected, but they let it in. now to build version 2 and make a few bucks on it.

I don't have an iphone, but I would totally use a stopwatch app if they had on for blackberry!

Last night I walked relay for life, for 6hrs and 12 mins and walked 41388 steps (or 20.694 miles) and had to wear a fancy pants pedometer to tell me all of that..

If I can add my two cents - the best part about a stopwatch (for me) is for running, and mine has 2 alarms I can set for different intervals and it will beep at me - I have one set at 2 mins (run intervals) and one set at 1 min (walk intervals) and then as I train I change it - the run is now at almost 5 and the walk is (sadly) still at one. <- if I didn't have to have a watch, and could just program my phone to do it and stuff it in my runners sack and just hear the beeps alternate - that would be way sweet.

things like that were already on my to-do list.

i've managed 13 actual sales over 4 days being available. i made it free yesterday to get download counts up there for the new iphone release on friday. managed 306 downloads in 14 hours yesterday, putting it in the top 50 in the health/fitness category. my goal is 2000 give aways before raising the price again to take advantage of rank placement.

Lessons in Longevity

Lessons from the lives of the worldÂ’s longest living people.

While many people consult doctors and plastic surgeons for the secret to a long, youthful life, many of the worldÂ’s oldest people will tell you that itÂ’s more about simplicity than secrets. While fancy supplements and super foods claim to keep you going for years, the following individuals are proof that sometimes a good attitude and an apple a day are all you need.

Myrtle Jones, 111 years old, South Africa: Ms. Jones loved to bake and lived independently until the age of 109. Known as having a sharp memory and sense of humor, she did not smoke or drink. Myrtle advised, “An apple keeps the doctor away. An onion a day keeps the cold away.” These are pretty simple tips from someone who saw Halley’s Comet not once, but twice!

Busten Martin and Euphemia Cameron: Busten retired from work when he was 97 years old, but had to get a new job washing vans because he was bored. In 2008, at 102 years old, Busten trained for the London marathon and now holds the record for the world’s oldest 5k, 10k and half-marathon competitor. He finished the half-marathon in five hours, a time that includes a stop for a beer and a cigarette. Euphemia Cameron also believes that staying active is the secret to a long life. While celebrating her 100th birthday in 2009, she declared, “I don’t like to sit about, I keep myself busy. I don’t know what a hobby is – I’m far too busy!”

Beatrise Farve, 113 years old: Described as a “soft, smiling lady,” Farve was healthy her entire life without suffering any medical conditions or taking medications. She lived in the state of Georgia and sold beauty products until she was 100 years old. Her friends and family called her “Mama B” and say that her philosophy was “Work hard and eat a good breakfast.” True to form, Farve started every day with a plate of fried bananas and bacon.

Jeanne Louise Calment: Having lived to the age of 122, Ms. Calment has the longest confirmed lifespan in history. She was “discovered” at the age of 113 when she became known as the last living person to have met Vincent van Gogh. At 85 years old, she took up fencing and was still riding a bicycle regularly at age 100. Calment’s secret? Garlic, vegetables, cigarettes, red wine and “avoiding brawls.” She credited olive oil for her fairly youthful complexion and said she poured it all over her food and rubbed it on her skin. Last, Calment swore by port wine and two pounds of chocolate every week.

While cigarettes and port wine may not be the usual ticket to good health and youthful looks well into later years, all of these individuals were active and interested in different aspects of life, from traveling and art to cooking. Perhaps it is a testament to spending life enjoying your passions or simply to living life to the fullest. If one thing is certain, there doesn’t seem to be a certain “secret” to longevity, but simply an array of positive thoughts and passions for living that the fountain of youth keeps flowing.

enjoy - last night I went and saw two of my favorite bands play - both are friends of mine. I danced all night, we joked around and I even got ribbed by both bands during their set (apparently the story of how I earned the named "chunks" is still a fav to both)

but the highlight of the night was, one of the roadies whom I've known for about 8 years, and is a man of very few words, sat with me, and hung out and we talked for about an hour and a half - it was really nice, I guess he's finally felt comfortable with me. That says a lot!

I have track and pit passes for Nascar tomorrow! although I'm not sure i'm going to go - I haven't packed for cabo yet, and it's my boyfriend who is the nascar lover (I could care less about left turns) and he's in Sac with his children.

Other enjoy: spending friday night with him and the kids at his softball game, and scoring "awesome points" with his daughter after bringing her an autographed shirt from the band.. somehow knowing a band makes me really 'cool' I was even awarded a fairy sticker (prized item) and a clay dog she made me.

this whole kid thing may not be as bad as I think...
