Maybe they would put it at Highland because we would be leery about it because it WAS the sight of the first medallion. You never know what the clue writers are thinking or what they think we will be thinking. :) I personally don't have any idea which park it's at.
Ok Inspector, I do think I remember those "ties" now. :) I haven't been digging, though I did some scouting last night at a particular park that I like.
CF- If McDonough is where I think it is, its essentially on Arlington and Jackson on the north end of St. Paul, about half a mile east of Rice St.
I like the chances at Palace, possibly Battle Creek, highland, although, im gonna need more stuff for that, Hidden Falls aint out yet. Parts of Phalen, and the list goes on.
Yeah, I know from past experience about reading too deep. Usually I just get lucky about the park and then think, "Oh, that's what that clue meant," when they publish the meanings.
Lynx? isnt that the Womens basketball team? could it be on a basket ball court? or possibly hidden in on the rim (circular) or maybe even in a basket ball.
I believe its literally the same Medallion every year, about two inches in diameter and half an inch thick made of a clear, blue-tinted acrylic-based plastic.
Listen in clue 3 what do you guys make out of it, it says linking in a circular motion, well if you put the C down to the below it spells city. Thats what i think it means but im not sure any other ideas out there?
Basketball would be good for "keep on your toes". Also circular thinking could mean that it is hidden the very same place it was hidden another year. Who would think of that?
Ya i found it one year, i think i crapped it out one time but i accidentally flushed it down the toilet and ended up in the diaper next to the mississippi. Go Figure.
McDonough Rec Area is borders Wheelock Parkway on the north, immediately west of I35-E. There is an access road there that leads into McDonough Housing and 35E. The rest of the housing area is bordered on the west by Jackson St. and south by Arlington. And yes the K-Mart is just south of the housing area. It's a big open field that's just behind the Mississippi Arts School.
Hey Hey your thinkin of the city thing all wrong, It is definatly NOT mcdonut. Does anyone know a park that lies on the border of st paul and another city?
Hi all. I finally got this message board thing figured out this year so I will stop being a lurker and start contributing. RG - isn't hidden falls on the border of St. Paul and Mnpls?
Who was president during the depression? Do you think the "depressed" clue could have something to do with that? Maybe there is a street or a school with the name.
I got that information from something I remember reading on the Cooler Crew site about the Medallion. Before that it was a metal coin that was obviously the same one used every year because you could see all the nicks in it from shovels over the years.
And personally, yes I believe it won't be in a park, more likely a rec center.
So far I've gotten to a "bold" detergent container, a bank envelope (or some bank related material), shrinkwrap.
Thanks, I try to be annoying whenever possible. :)

Mulder...I think the key is not to read too deep into the clues...It seems that many people here try too hard to make things fit to every word.
Probably far fetched- maybe it's in something w/ MN Lynx-"linking"

Does Scully help dig with you??

So, does this medallion always look the same every year? Same size, color, material, etc? how big is it anyhow?
I believe its literally the same Medallion every year, about two inches in diameter and half an inch thick made of a clear, blue-tinted acrylic-based plastic.
No, no Scully. Unless my fiance is Scully, but I don't think he'd like that too much. :)

AW....I checked out your web page....pretty cool!....its interesting seeing the number of visits climb with each day.
Basketball would be good for "keep on your toes". Also circular thinking could mean that it is hidden the very same place it was hidden another year. Who would think of that?
I dont know, ive never found it. LOL!
Thank you for the info on the card
Thanks AW! Is that for sure?
An upside down "C"? Hmm, that would be a horseshoe for GOOD LUCK!
Does anyone know, has anyone that posts on this board found the medallion in the past?
Thanks AW! Is that for sure?
no one "posts" but there have been lurkers that find it. since 98 though, I'm not sure
Ya i found it one year, i think i crapped it out one time but i accidentally flushed it down the toilet and ended up in the diaper next to the mississippi. Go Figure.
Mulder....I think you are right...I doubt "he" would want to be called Scully...*GrinZ*
This is for CRAP FACE:

lol butt dont your remember the year it was in a diaper? Well i crapped it out and it floated down the river into the diaper
yeah, parts of Battle Creek Park are in Maplewood and Saint Paul, same as Phalen
Hello Sue!
I was checking out some older posts and saw you refer to "deadmans hill"....I'm sure we know eachother....I graduated from HiC in 76...and you?
Are there true believers out there that think it "won't" be in a park just because it hasn't been mentioned?
84
HiC? whats that?
Hi all. I finally got this message board thing figured out this year so I will stop being a lurker and start contributing. RG - isn't hidden falls on the border of St. Paul and Mnpls?
Highland Catholic-across the street to Hillcrest park (oops, Rec Center)
Holy Crap that part where its not in sight, its hidden right? well what about Hidden Creek Park by the Airport?
I dont think that it "wont" be in a park, it could be and it might not be.
deploy could be the torpedo in Como - it was hidden near there in 1990
Raider, you mean Hidden Falls?
You still used that name 8 years later?....I take that back...I most likely don't know you...*smile*...that "huge hill" seems so tiny
Hello! As far as borders go, Battle Creek, Phalen, Cherokee and possibly South st. Anthony Park Rec. Center?
Deploy could also be Fort Snelling. For Army troops.
Who was president during the depression? Do you think the "depressed" clue could have something to do with that? Maybe there is a street or a school with the name.
Medallion-less,
I got that information from something I remember reading on the Cooler Crew site about the Medallion. Before that it was a metal coin that was obviously the same one used every year because you could see all the nicks in it from shovels over the years.
