I was out there for a while, last night, before the snow got real bad..... I really dont know if i'll be back today

we think it means there is baseball fields or hockey but "no game" means its not hidden near them NOT just the snow and cold. If hockey is truely what they are getting at then "no game" would probably mean not near the hockey cause you would play hockey in winter.

We were out there from 2 till 5 yesterday checking by all the gold post and locks with no luck.(even had my new Cooler Crew shirt on for luck)

The "mite "I think is a reference to hockey.

The "park-a-lot" is the big parking lots right there.

The "to darn cold no game today" is the ball feilds or just the fact that the park is called "Sand Creek Athletic Park"

Not going back down there till tommorow morn.

With the snow today and the way folks search I would have to say no one will find it today....(I hope)

I called the lady doing the hunt a couple of days ago. She wouldnt say yes when I asked about her comment on this being a 14 clue hunt. She just said "well the snowflake days is 14 days long...so.um"

I think cause its there 50 year and the medallion usally gets found on like clue 3 4 or 5 that she is trying to make this one last. I know its not the big zip lock baggie with the huge coon rapids coin in it this year("The treasure this year does not look the same"). I think its "freddie" again or a Coon Rapids Snowflake days button. So its small like PP's.

I think "no game" = baseball fields because baseball is not played in winter.

I grew up just outside of St. Peter - sure as hell sounds like they are describing the Gluek park on the south side. I believe the railroad line used to go up to the old St. Peter State Security Hospital before freeways were invented - the old brick pylons are still in the River about 1/2 mile downstream from the Hwy 22 bridge.

From the traffic loop area in Riverside park - south of 22 you can see the current railroad line bridge that spans over the highway on the other side of the river. Don't think taht really applies as well to the clues.

Medallion was found by the tag team of Jeff Pruitt and John Churilla of Coon Rapids. It was located in Aspen Park (Home of Central Little League!) off of Foley Boulevard (near the Post Office) - Baseball Field #1.

I hate it when they dont give us the explanations for the clues.

Just shows me that the person writting the clues lives near powderhorn park...geshhh..

The Medallion has been Found!

Congratulations to Sarah Hadro

on finding the Medallion!

The Medallion was located on the

Sunrise Prairie Tail

under a pine tree, wrapped in a Bible.

Wrapped in a bible? WTF!?

Clue #5

This large tree was once so tall

Now it lays down, the pieces not small

It could have been wood for the fire,

Better look hard, it's down to the wire

Clue #6

This clue is the one, listen to me now

The entrance to the park is where you should bow

On the right you will see your logs,

Claim your prize and feed the dogs!

<edit> wow! that was wwwway easy! ice skating and disc golfing in Ham Lake? omgoodness was that too easy. clues look like they were written for kids.

Thats what the Rosemount hunt looks like every year too, but its still hard to track that sucker down.

I think its even geared towards kids too.... thats probably why they give out fake money, good for use only at places in Rosemount...

Also why I call it a "keeper".... if its still the wooden 4-leaf-clover dealio anyways....

Forest Lake starts Sunday. The winner will be announced Feb 27 at Fishpalooza. Huh? They are going to keep it a secret if someone finds it before next Saturday?
Fri, 02/19/2010 - 2:21 PM Permalink
barefootguy

They will probably announce that it's found but keep the identity of the finder secret until the 27th.

Where on that linked website is (are) the clues? All I see is a park map link and a rules link...

Strange.......I looked at the above link this morning and it went to the clue. Now it doesn't.

the button didn't have to be purchased prior to the hunt beginning? wonder if there is a time limit on button purchase?
Sun, 02/21/2010 - 7:32 PM Permalink
Tatergirl

Nothing in the rules about time limit on registering. I just bought mine yesterday. They register you with raffle ticket when you buy a button. So you are eligible for $500 medallion and an addtional $500 raffle drawing.

Buttons can be purchased at the following retailers:

Stella's on 97

Green Door Consignment Co

Friar Tuck's Pub

Forest Lake Floral and Greenhouse

Central Bank

Clue #2

While others reside, walled up inside.

Staying in wonÂ’t help locate the prize.

The kids always know where itÂ’s most fun to go.

Take their lead to see where the loot lies.

Residential park with playground?... gee that's just about all of them.

Wow I live 2 miles north of FL and never knew there was 22 parks there. Mostly because my whole fricken yard is a park.
Sun, 02/21/2010 - 8:06 PM Permalink
diggorius rex

first impressions: parks with playgrounds AND a baseball field or basket ball court (take the lead)

bayview, beltz, clear, kulenkamp

i'm gonna go ahead and rule out the skate park and the senior citizen tower park / hockey rink...

just my thots.

diggorius rex

how much was the button?
Sun, 02/21/2010 - 8:32 PM Permalink

Sliding hill?

Bridle Pass Park (take the lead)

Clue #3

Now that you're out, don't start to doubt.

Your reward may be more than financial.

Feel the sun on your face. You're in the right place.

At your feet is a value substantial.

Im highly suspicious that a cooler is writing these clues... structure and rhymes are exactly like WC clues. Except these are anal about punctuation.

Jesse is close to Forest Lake

when clue one mentions staying away from "Fenway" does that mean baseball?

Loot lies just looks like a play on words or anagram

walled - a park surrounded by a wall

There is a retaining wall or such in the park

a structure in the park where people can be inside - an out building
Mon, 02/22/2010 - 4:30 PM Permalink
Grey Wolf

Fenway is one of their parks. Rules say it's not there.

We were scouting parks today some have ballfields that are not noted on the park website such as Cedar and Schilling. And we found 2 parks not even listed on the website - Shady Trails park and Tolzmann.
Mon, 02/22/2010 - 10:50 PM Permalink
Grey Wolf

I was wondering about Tolzman. Could that be a part of FL Township?
Tue, 02/23/2010 - 4:01 AM Permalink
diggorius rex

where was it found last year? possibly rule that park out?

how about in a cup or juice box (something you might "throw" away?)

baseball? seemed like two sport references already
Tue, 02/23/2010 - 8:08 AM Permalink
diggorius rex

Clue No. 4:

"On a normal day, we surely would say

'Help us out, pick up the parkÂ’s litter'

But watch what you throw, this weekÂ’s different, you know.

And to toss this would leave you quite bitter."

quite bitter - orange or lemon? or just a rhymer word? like something that looks like trash, but that would be stating the obvious..

Tatergirl

The township was annexed by the city a few years ago...tolzmann is way closer to downtown than kulenkamp or sherwood. It could be a Lions park... I'll check it out today.

Another note.. when I was checking out cedar park.. it looked like it extended south, but at that end it had a sign saying Broadway park? I don't know who's in charge of parks here, but I've found 3 parks now that are not on their parks list. And one they have listed (Bixby) I can't figure out how to get access to it. And we have not found Enchanted Forest Park... I'm thinking it's between the 2 elementary schools but it hard to distinguish school property and there is no sign that I can find.
