This is the first hunt. They are trying to have more events leading up to the Fishapalooza tournament coming up this weekend.
I don't know why Forest Lake doesn't have their "days" celebration in the winter since our nickname is "Flaketown". They have a 4th of July celebration every year, but there is no Forest Lake Days. They could have something like a winter carnival.. like Flaketown Freezer Days. All events leading up to to the Fishapalooza. I'm going to write to the powers that be.
good ideas. where are all the sponsers located? maybe a DT park is the best considering it is the first hunt (go with the biggest and most well known park?) easy access, etc. i'm hoping it goes a little longer so i can cruise over there some morning..
It'd be interesting to find out where the location in Minneapolis was. From what I can find out, it looks like they had people wearing Flynn Lives Tshirts hanging out at arcades. So it must have been an arcade in Minneapolis.. Of course they don't leave the info up on the site after the prize was found. Not that it was much of anything, a used cell phone, a velcro wallet and some arcade tokens...
Does anybody want to join us in this treasure hunt?
I'd love to use our awesome Cooler Crew as a resource during this event. It takes place in two Saturdays. We can use your help here on AM and FB. We could actually be contenders for this thing even if you can't make it in person. Consider it a 3 hour AW hunt where we're all on the same collective team.

You've registered for this crazy train experience of a lifetime, so what next? You and your team partner will be on a lively, one-day, Minneapolis amazing race. This scavenger hunt will take you to unmarked checkpoints known as SOLVEpoints and explore MPLS like you've never experienced it before as the puzzle unfolds. Our high octane energy adventure game might take you through the many exciting neighborhoods of Minneapolis like Dinkytown, Uptown, the Wharehouse District and some nifty places you might not even know about!
On this sensational urban adventure, you'll solve clues ranging from pop culture to math (nothing tougher than 8th grade) to American history, anagrams, sudoku, and so much more. It's like a real life Trivial Pursuit game! Along the way you'll face exciting challenges like bowling a strike, building a house of cards, identifying a flavor of ice cream or putting a puzzle together.
They expect you do to all of those challenges, solve all of those puzzles, and race all over town in just 3 hours? Either they haven't done this before or the puzzles are fairly easy and it's really more of a race. Sounds like it's just two people on a team. Sounds like it might be faster to solve the puzzles than to pass them on!
Although I have been getting the urge to do another one of my 24 hour hunts. Since it's likely to be mostly CoolerCrew people doing it, any input on if you prefer a high fee/large prize or a small fee/small prize (or no fee and no prize?)
Sounds like fun.. but why have races like this always been in Minneapolis? I know they had one other similar one there.

Some of those areas make me queazy walking the streets.
Starting at the same time too.. I wonder if it was planned that way... Or if these two organizations even know the other's is going on at the same time.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have been selected to compete in Twin Cities Diamond Dash Presented by R. F. Moeller on Saturday, June 12th 2010. You and a teammate will be eligible to win a $15,000 Lazare diamond ring by solving the clues sent to your cell phone that will lead you all around Minneapolis!
We got the cabin  (finally) ..... so we will be going to the lake every weekend starting tomorrow ..... but I will do the clues during the week and go get it before the weekend ...... lol
For the record everyone, if you have my cell number, please don't use it to call me via voice. It's too confusing to deal with on the fly anyway. You can text me if you wish, and I'll respond as fast as I can with either an answer, or to let you know I don't have an answer. And of course if you can get on the site here, that works great too.

What the heck? Is it some big festival day for Minneapolis next weekend?
Weekends away from the cement jungle are so refreshing.
