2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

IMO not a very helpful clue.

Again, is the marshland off limits? The woods at TS are so thick and the vegetation is over eager to take my eye out!

I don't know what Ma Press's point is or intent with the early scrambling clues. I miss the videos.

From miles around they came to stay

A night or two, then on their way

To reap the riches fall can yield --

The delicacy of a watery field.

There it is! Thanks Terry

Why didn't they do the full scramble tonight, do you think?

All this does is get all the people at BC and Highland and elsewhere (aka the PP boards) to TSP. Bummer...

not helpful for those who have already been convinced of the park, but could be for those who know the history of the area

hard to explain it does involved several colors of crayons :goofy:

Has anyone trekked the northern part of the park yet? The part north of cty rd E2?

Just wondering if there any trails there or is it all woods and swamp?

I ran into a guy at beaver lake (the other guy finding pirate medallions) He was convinced the medallion was there.

I obviously don't think it's there, but it's always amazing to see people out at most every park convinced they have the right ideas.

Oh yeah.. and I was out at Central Park in roseville hunting pirate medallions today, got chewed out by some lady feeding the indigenous wildlife there. She kept talking about medallion hunters and geocachers tearing up the parks and ruining the wildlife areas. She wouldn't quit talking until I just decided it was best to leave.

Did anyone run into this lady during that 2nd hunt that ended up at that park? I could swear I remember hearing someone talk about someone like that out there.

Id say okay, if its in tje park. It was hid in a creek at swede, and on the side of a cliff at phalen (ok,slight exaggeration...)

Hopefully the parks department opens up some more parking at TSP to accommodate all the extra people.

Swede was not hidden in the creek. That's where my group raked it to after not seeing it that night :crying:

I'm thinking of shooting them an email.... otherwise the parking on Lake johanna blvd is going to be crazy.

I guess it is. A wee bit early.

It's obviously at TSP. I am looking forward to the explanations.

Being as I have a full 10 hour day tomorrow working, I best get to the bed and start some sleeping.

Good luck to those still hunting.

Coolerheads will prevail!\

Goodnight and SCDs!

Wild rice (also called Canada rice, Indian rice, and water oats) is four species of grasses forming the genus Zizania, and the grain which can be harvested from them. The grain was historically gathered and eaten in both North America and China. While it is now something of a delicacy in North America, the grain is eaten less in China,[1]:165 where the plant's stem is used as a vegetable.

Throw away clue, so they didn't care. I mean, if you were set on the park this clue does nothing for you. And if you weren't set on the park, you're trying to fit a specific historical story to a park it doesn't fit.

Or they got lazy. It is a Sunday you know.

Clue No. 9

A night or two, then on their way

To reap the riches fall can yield --

you buy a ticket and then they call off the numbers in order that the ticket was sold when the papers show up.

I hate to say it but "From miles around they came to stay

A night or two, then on their way" sounds a lot like Como to me.

The video posted earlier makes it sound like thy start selling tickets when they open.

but they didn't stay at como on their way to the rice harvest, they stayed at lake johanna.

If you watch that video posted by AW, it sounds like they sell tickets all day. If that's the case, to be first, you'd have to be at Gabe's when they first open, then return that night. True?
