Mine says "Cooler Crew hopes that this year Nimrod gets the clue!" and then shows a picture of a door. I click on it, and it logs me off. I don't get it..
My kid is two now. Put it in Highland, and then we can say suck it Donny. It would help if the item it was hid in involved goldfish crackers or pizza. Thanks in advance.
I know in 91 they put hid the puck in a Hostess Sno-balls wrapper, but I'm thinking with all the news about Hostess going under and everyone going on their last Twinkie runs, I making a guess the puck is going to be hidden in a Twinkee wrapper attached to a Baker's Union card.
Plus there's always a double meaning of Twinkie in the state of MN.
In the last several weeks, I have found myself in the middle of Como for the oddest reasons or for no reason at all. It was earlier this week that I realized I had been on every street through and around the park and around the lake lately.
We live near by as does our son, so we are often on Lexington through Como, but this has been Como, Horton, Midway Parkway, Hamline, past McMurray fields.
It could just be a fluke - or some sort of premonition.
There are other parks I would actually hope to be hunting, but for now I'm thinking Como.
So, you are leaning towards Como because you have been in or around Como recently for not the least of which reasons that you reside near Como. Sound reasoning. I think I'm all in.
Truly, I live nearby, but don't find myself all over the park in the middle of the winter except for medallion hunting. The realization that somehow I've been through every street in and around the park lately has me wondering if it all means anything.
Your confirmation number is #18xxx - does anyone know how high numbers have gone with registered buttons? I seem to remember registering the afternoon of the PDG and the numbers were in the 23K range
I like the twinkie wrapper idea, I think our puck was hidden the night it went from 42degrees to deep freeze and I like the last unexplored corner of Ramsey county in the northeast. That said...CHAIR - OH - KEY!!!
That's good stuff. The final days before the hunt are far too long. Hopefully the first clue is an unhelpful as usual - I don't want to feel tempted to dig in the impending -10F chill!
I'm spoiled by facebook .... GAWD I wish we had the LIKE option with posts here. I hate not giving someone feedback when I think something is funny, smart, interesting etc. And yet posting a response for everything you like just creates thousands of posts to weed through.
Has anyone asked the powers that be at ableminds of whether they can/will add that feature in the future?
What has been their response? ... too difficult, don't wanna?
It would save on the number of posts... so you don't have hundreds of posts to slog through... alot of which say LOL, good idea, nice, hey I like that, bwah!... OK we can still have that one  Not that I'm trying to be a posting police, I think newbies would feel more welcome if you could respond with likes rather than your feedback reply show up 250 posts later. You know how the traffic picks up right as the clue gets released.
I already had my first "What if...????" stomach-dropping moment and the hunt hasn't even started. I work at a St. Paul school and a teacher who knows I am slightly obsessed with the medallion hunt started asking me about what the medallion size is. She explained that she was asking because some kids found something on the field and were kicking it around during recess. It was a bit bigger across than a golf ball and was all wrapped up in packaging tape.
Of course, I asked her if she picked it up-- which she did. It just happened to still be in her coat pocket. After telling her it was probably nothing, I told her that she still HAD to open it and check!
I can totally relate! Last year at TS I was digging around this huge pine tree that was over by a tiny little parking spot/dumpster and across from the lake by the pavillion. It was I believe clue 10 and of course I notice that you could crawl into the tree like a fort. After digging around the base I hit something hard and as I move the snow its a little treasure box. I about had a HEART ATTACK!!! I thought it was in that thing and with shaky hands I open it up...and its a geo cache. I wanted to cry I was so SURE it was it. I had a neat little prize I could put in its place and I kept the contents/note with it and took the box as my souvenir. I know your not supposed to do that, but it sits here at my work as a painful reminder of how I felt so close, yet so far! :goofy:
Hi everyone! Finally got our buttons in the mail today (slower than expected!) and registered online. I probably won't be digging myself, since I have a shoulder thing. Might send the husband out sometime, though. So it's mostly online noodling for me this year!
Must be because we're on the button this year. Maybe next year kiddo

its overdue.
Are we ready for another year?
I think with the lack of snow - the puck will be (or most likely already is) hidden in something and in a large park.
expect some nice camouflaging again this year.

He carries a walking stick at night-hmm to hide that medallion with?
Though it is a sweet photo. My daughter saw it (she's 7) and asked if she is a princess like the movie Princess and the Frog!
Has anyone asked the powers that be at ableminds of whether they can/will add that feature in the future?
I could have "liked" 20 posts already
