oh my I just noticed something. We are taking the song clues the entire wrong way. Crosby Park is a Red Hearing from what I noticed.

White Christmas was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1974

Don't Fence me in was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998

Its odd that they mentioned Think Out Side the Box was last years clue..making us think of previous years.

In 1998, the puck was hidden in Cherokee

In 1974, the puck was hidden in Cherokee

Gobble could be a Turkey link to Thanksgiving, started by the pilgrums and Indians, which I get Cherokee..

Now that's an interesting and thought provoking noodle Mr. Tom.

The "bark" clue seems pretty important. I'm trying to think of bark-related terms. Please feel free to add to my list:

moss

lichen

cork

aspirin

mulch

birch bark (canoe)

I should add the High Bridge for High Tech.

While reading about the West Side I found this image. So the public baths at Harriet Island were the river and not some inside facility.

White Christmas was never mentioned in these clues... it was mentioned in 2005.

Almond Bark? I think of those Pretzels Grandma use to make us at Christmas time diped in that yummy white stuff when I think of Almond Bark

Yes, I agree. But he didn't sing it solo and we were told about a Happy Holidays pair.

OT - this is an article in the St. Paul paper about both the Harriet Island and Wilder Charities (now Foundation) public baths. The river may have been used on hot days, but there were buildings for people to bathe in.

Edit: It would be helpful if I provided the link. Duh!

Okay, for the sake of argument, here's my thoughts on Harriet

Clue 1 - It's on the county line

Clue 2 - I'm stumped here

Clue 3 - this basically fits any park, could summer forbids refer to being able to see St. Paul and the carnival activities

Clue 4 - Ups and downs lots of hills in the area, also think this clue refers to the river water level - could point to several parks, like the fact that yellow mashed rice refers to being able to see crashed ice as well as Kellogg Blvd being visible just across the river if this is tied to Rice Krispie Bars

Clue 5 - can't remember who said it, but love the idea that gobbles up man's frills refers to The Taste that used to take place on HI, I also like the fact that there was once a zoo on HI, but it's now gone - probs cuz all the animals died in a flood

Clue 6 - schooled in time - Harriet Bishop, but also reading on Plato, he founded one of the earliest schools in western civilization, wheel of fortune ties to the paddle wheel boats

Just a few ideas...

Again, whats up with the numbers this year. Are we getting the run around and we are getting some sort of address/coordinate location? I doubt it but still...

can see the 1 from the treasure site?
Fri, 01/25/2013 - 8:43 PM Permalink

Good ideas except for #1. Harriet Island isn't on the county line. Annapolis Street is the boundary.
