Not any crazier than this whole hunt has all of us. 14 minutes to the real clue - if that's on time.

............come on baby fit-my park.....fit MY park. After taking this much time off of work, how do I explain the deprogramming that I need after the clues?

Yeah...I did that too once. I didn't exactly find the camping gear I was looking for, but there were plenty of pitched tents!

The end draws neigh, no time to be wary -

"Hark cheekiest gopher" and not sanctuary.

When "you are here," you're in the right place;

The treasure lies near, in an icy embrace.

Don't trail away from Boreas land.

Search generally east from where you should stand.

If you want to survive, if you want to thrive,

Now is the time to revisit Clue Five

So where's the "you are here" sign?
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:29 PM Permalink

A map of the river along the bluff?

You are here is at Crosby! Unless there is one at Chair-O_-Key

Sorry case, daddy and nimrod. I was rooting for a dark horse.

What if the first two lines of clue 5 talks about things that melt - like the Harriet Island ice palace did. The palace being the frill and nature gobbled it up.

Cherokee doesn't flood so that can't be it.

If don't fence me in is about the old jail, you need to be east to see it. The seeing a fence thing is redundant. Fence all over the place.

Clue 5

Nature does what nature wills

And gobbles up man's silly frills.

"Don't fence me in" might be the song,

But spotting a fence won't lead you wrong.

Hark cheekiest gopher anagrams to Cherokee Heights Park. How could it NOT be Cherokee. Well, unless it is yet another red fish.

Having a hard time seeing how the first two sentences of clue 5 connect to Cherokee...

Nigh, I'm guessing?
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:37 PM Permalink
snow_turtle

Yup, "nigh" on twincities.com and Boreas spelled correctly.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:38 PM Permalink
OT

Yes, but odd they'd have a typo in the official clue.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:38 PM Permalink
OT

Ok, that's solved then. Thanks
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:39 PM Permalink
Terry

There were two errors in the scrambled - Boreas - and night was supposed to be nigh.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:39 PM Permalink
PilotsHatGuy

Yes, it's suppose to be nigh. I was typing fast
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:39 PM Permalink
Terry

For those going out tonight - best of luck. If it's not found, we will be out there again tomorrow.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:42 PM Permalink
OT

I think near was supposed to be nigh in the scramble.

westy3789

"you are here," --- its in quotation marks...like a marker on a map? or just a generic place holder for our "park?"
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:44 PM Permalink
leelabell

Look for a cottonwood tree east of the sign, and fence, and stay in the county.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:45 PM Permalink
leelabell

There's a sign.

Don't knock out all the dark horses yet. I think I'm still good! It's a Strrrrrrrrrretch.. but I am a nimrod!
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:46 PM Permalink
queenmalley

another error in scrambled?
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:51 PM Permalink
KT

Sounds like it might be *right on the border*
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:53 PM Permalink
PilotsHatGuy

What the fuck is mans silly frills being gobbled up? That is the key.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:56 PM Permalink
KT

Maybe it's an old structure that has gone to ruin, and nature (trees, grasses) are reclaiming it? But I would think most structures built were deemed necessary when they were built, not a frill.
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:58 PM Permalink
queenmalley

..and "fence"
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 9:59 PM Permalink
leelabell

Tim says there's an old falling down fence.

Don't fence me in is about cottonwood trees.

What else is over in that part of the park?
Tue, 01/29/2013 - 10:00 PM Permalink
Terry

I agree and though I've noodled this clue in my getting to Cherokee after the Harriet red herring, I can't make this fit the park. The only think I can figure is nature melting something, perhaps the flood plain below - Lilydale and Harriet flood frequently, but the only connection there would be to get you to the bluff side of the park instead of the picnic/playground portion of the park.

PilotsHatGuy

The fence is the fence around the entrace to the Vento overlook. it should be closed for the season (there is a sign on the fence) but it's open (don't fence me in). There is also two pine trees right there and a wheel sign.

queenmalley

Please explain again how "Don't Fence Me In" is about Cottonwood trees? Anagram?
