I have a question... in past hunts that made it to clue 12, we had a plan for picking up the paper and relaying the clue. Is everyone just on their own this year? Are people counting on using their smart phones from the park since the paper hasn't been released that much ahead of the online clue?

Oh, my! It would be WONDERFUL if you found it! Finally, a hunt in your area... I hope it's up top, and not in that ravine. That just looks dangerous.

Well, I'm not quite gone yet. The snow from the top of my car slipped down and covered my windshield with about three inches of what is now ice. So I have the defrost on and will leave shortly.

So I'm at work now. Que the group of teenagers playing hooky from school finding the dang thing.

Good luck everyone!

My bet is someone finds it before noon. Now that the sun is up and people are coming back to the park. It's not that large a logical area. Though it looks like people are in the woods. Is IT in the woods? Did we have a "woods" clue? That be a shift.

given prior to this last 4 inches of snow we had most fields were bare grass.. i find it hard to believe it's on third base.....

Unlike the Ramsey County Sheriffs Dept--- Saint Paul's finest is taking the opportunity to ticket as many people as possible. We saw someone getting a ticket for parking in the handicapped spot. (ouch) They were also ticketing for minor stuff like too close corner, fire hydrants, etc. There are sections of the road where there are no parking signs on one side of the street- so keep an eye out for the signs.

FYI you might get easier access to the park via 35E to hwy 13(lillydale exit), brings you right to Annapolis.

Getting ready to head out...

Yay! Thanks for the pics! She looks stunned.

She does look stunned. The pictures of the med aren't really clear. Is it rounded on the corners? What's in the middle? Looks red or pinkish.

I figured it had to be bluff side without the picnic reference in any of the clues. Good for the finder!

I will be waiting to see the clue explanations.

Bluff side being north side.. like by the high bridge area?

I guessed right on the before noon part. I got something right for once this hunt! Actually I had the area pegged last night (bluff side by the pine trees vs across the street in the ravine). I'm curious exactly where it was.

I wonder if this is my yellow mashed rice noodle = Arhcimedes -- it would be quite (c)lever.

That's why I like the south end so much.

Bluff side across Cherokee from the main park area. Not by the high bridge - more on the west end.

FB beat the PP hotline then. and all the other media. They really need to update their dang hotline. Still says hunt is on at 10:12.

Tree growing into a fence is clever.

Did a cooler find it? Can someone post where it was hidden? Being unable to get on FB at work, this is my lifeline.

leelabell

Not cooler.

They just left park 15 min ago, so hotline wasn't updated.

Found bluff side by tree with fence growing thru it.

Stuck to ground in dirt and ice.

Not east of anything.

North of the sign.

Clue 12:

Clue 12 (Location within Park)

We've reprised a location; it's Cherokee Park.

Near a fence that's embedded deep in tree bark.

From the Bruce Vento Trail, near Annapolis Street,

Between sidewalk and woods is the path you must beat.

Nested under the snow the treasure is found --

From the fence search 10 feet on the ground all around.

With treasure in hand and button in tow,

The Pioneer Press is the place you must go.

Clue pinpoints the treasure location and identifies that it's in a nest buried in the snow.

Winners announced on PP FB page:

The medallion sadly got chipped as finders Scot Tuma and Lynn Olson-Tuma dug it out of ice with a garden hoe and spade.
