Agree OT - that's what I said in my first gut reaction post [while reviewing AW's site it just popped out) ...but spelling and punctuation don't seem to bother the CW. Would be the same problem if referring to a lake.
the street "Christie Place" near Wakefield. the street has that Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery on it. Maybe reference is that Christie's career has died. :goofy:
I always find interesting stuff in the Hunt, such as this:
"Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery was established 1912 for the poor in the Jewish community in St. Paul. It is near the intersection of Larpenteur and Prosperity, which is the boundary line between St. Paul and Maplewood. The cemetery association is not connected with any single synagogue. There are approximately 5 acres and 3000 burials."
After James-Younger Gang member Charlie Pitts was killed in the chaotic aftermath of the disastrous September 7, 1876 Northfield, Minnesota raid, his body was boxed up and temporarily submerged in the lake by Dr. Henry Hoyt, a local physician who wanted the bleached skeleton as a display piece for his office.
Hi folks! I'm new to this board this year. I found this on the History of Como Park website and thought it may be helpful (or not?)
1972 In January, keepers are forced to shoot “Whitey”, a male polar bear, to save the life of a midnight visitor who fell into the bear grotto. In August, the perimeter fence around the Zoo is completed. For the first time, the Zoo animals are protected from vandalism.
It's the only mention of a location I've found so far. Other stories I've read said something like he may still haunt a corner of the lake but not really a mention of location.
The common version is the body was submerged at Seltz' Point, but no one really knows where that is. But that's about as specific as "the middle of the lake."
Thank you, Clue Master. Just now reading these posts as I have been all over the place tonight, as well - including breaking my navigating computer mouse! ...which was my Cat's fault.
Hmmmmm
Trying to figure what was mired in "sandy" ...the storm. Most notable were carnival rides ...as I wait for the unscrambled clue
With the snow and cold, maybe not.
You'll find this quite handy:
After giving them fits
He was mired in the pits.

Where is Charlie Pitts?"
Embalmed so not to decompose
Then under rushes the pine box lay
A young boy found him, no decay
A grisly yield from this watery grave
Was it MURDER? became all the rave
Just "bleaching his bones" was finally proclaimed
So let dem bones alone and don't disturb them
A passage will show you the true way
Remember, if an eerie fog or wind blows
That crime didn't pay from the first bank that day
And watch out for an outlaw to transpose
Search a sacred vicinity
To locate this trinity
Discover Colonel Nest with a grin
Be sure to stop, smell the Jasmine
Crowned Victor or Victress?
You then may win!
Once a grave yard, now a play yard
For Orchard Street Cemetery once stood this ground
They say not all the bodies have been found
Aimless souls may still roam
Searching for their way home
But now, Judgement Day is here!
You Seek and item in the clear
Only the promise of life anew -
will guide your hands to my capture true.
Illuminations of this great devine light
Guides these souls 35 feet west, to this heavenly site
NOW, Run or walk, but do not stumble,
Head toward the sound of passing rumble,
Have faith and harmony, no more strife
For what seams to be dead wood truly has life!
Freedom from her wooden cage,
Enlightens all who watch and gaze.
Never will there be such pleasure,
Clinging fiercely to this treasure,
Ending this hunt in finest measure
Let me know if there is some hazing I must endure. I am prepared.
Medallion hunter 'tie I die.
Godspeed this year, friends.
More than you would ever want to know about Charlie Pitts. Including where the box with his body was submerged.
First thing that popped in my head was "Throw Out St. Paul".
