It's no wonder that relationship didn't last! And we have another example of a near miss.

Not far from Larry Ho Drive  but it is a private home. Wonder if there is a sign up on Larry Ho or Afton

There is another "Rainbow" child care on Como and Dale east of the lake. https://www.facebook.com/RainbowChildDevCenter/page_map

This is a facility. [need to get a visual]
http://www.rainbowchilddevcenter.com/about-us.html

Description recites back to it's "beginning" in a church on Thomas

It is also just south of Marydale Park

Yes, they are pairs, but there are 23 pairs. 23 is a number often associated with references to genes so clue #1 could be giving us 23 as a clue.

State Capital Grounds:

Clue 1)

Green- green line rails end down on cedar and wrap around the capital.

Genes- Genetics/Science Old Science Museum now Scientology Church building on Wabasha.

Clue 2)

"won't find the puck by a private home" - made me think of finding it by "Public Housing", just so happens, St. Paul Public Housing Agency is right next door, and one block closer to the capital on Wabasha.

Clue 3)

What's it in clue: "Charlie Pitts" anagram = "A Chips Litter". I'm partial to a Doritos bag. Also, this clue is a great opportunity to throw a red fish to Como!

Also, Charlie Pitts dead body was on display at the Capitol for days.

Clue 4)

Rainbows lead you to the puck - plural rainbow flags on the Wabasha Bridge last year. Also, same sex marriage brought into law at the Capitol.

The clues are walking you right up Wabasha from downtown across the bridge to the Capitol. In my humble opinion.

Please feel free to knock this down and/or help it forward.

And old sandy could be Sandy Pappas, president of the state senate and the capitol is in her district.

I remember there was one year that Allison was interested enough in Iris that he went out hunting there. That park could be cleared of snow and medallion by a small group of diggers in about an hour or two.

Love the memory.

Did a drive around Como this afternoon. Saw 4 parked cars and 5 people hunting. 2 by the Black Bear Crossing, 2 by the frog pond and one somewhere by his/her lonesome in the front of the conservatory but further south. No rainbows or anything else at Como Elementary school.

I'm not totally convinced it's out there, but I'm even less convinced of anywhere else.

Also checked out Marydale. I love that park. No one was there anywhere. Did not see anything related to rainbows - didn't expect to - but the Rainbow Child Care Center is at Dale and Como/Front just a couple blocks south.

It's not too cold to drive around.

I went to the corners of Front, Dale and Como and the Rainbow Child Development Center is housed right on the triangle that used to be a motor coach sales place last I remember. 3 bold Rainbow signs, with one of them right at the point of 2 street's sidewalks, pointing to Como ave as it is facing the tri-section of streets. Across the street to the north is Schroeder's [sp?] Bar and Restaurant with a huge mural on the wall facing Como of the skyline of St.Paul. [I miss going to Schroeder's for chicken with my mother :frown: ] Ace Hardware across Front ..."come in handy"*

Only saw 2 hunters over by the Conservatory. No Kangaroo lot at the Zoo.

Marydale Park sure is developed since '72. ...there were yellow boards on trees like those on the Como run - are those lap markers?

Looking for Beer adverts... Finnegan's Irish Amber, Shamrock Beer ...perhaps on the ground there may be something related at the site or a Liquor Store nearby? The one on Como I did not get out of the car to look if there was an AD in the window and the traffic was too fast to slow down and read.

Not so far fetched if one recalls the French School in the Old St. Andrew's School being a 2003 Como clue [?] In fact, reading the clues for MaryDale in 72 it is amazing how many insignificant signs were major clues.

I recall driving around Shamrock a few years ago just because of the hype. It is terribly small as I recall.

  • Also noted that Como Animal Hospital is now a 24 hour facility. Good to know with my ailing cat. The one on West 7th and 35E was an awful and $$$ experience last summer.

Rainbows typically appear to the east (the sun is to the west in the afternoon/evening when rain typically comes), could that line be pointing us east?

I'm obsessed with a puny little park in NE corner Ramsey. Not even on the map. It's even scheduled for renovation in 2014...so we could have at it.

Tiny suburb park called Red Pine park in WBL. I drove on their ice rink Sunday...oops-thin ice. The streets are all named a genera of species.. Red Pine, Norway Pine etc..in our Genes

Old Sandy... Sandterra park and street abut the other side of these woods, with a groomed trail between. The mired in the pits guy... Hugo Chavez, I don't know...quick sand (sand ground..sand terra)

Over the rainbow. Blue Bill circle... You have a blue bird that flies up high in Ramsey proximate.. And it's circle, you keep beginning again by name.

There..I now can join the hunt having absolved myself of my Smeagol-like neurotic behavior I get every year at this time...

Now what corner of Como are we?

Has anybody noodled Prosperity Heights Park and I may have missed it? It's on the north side and all street names leading to it are colors (Orange, Hyacinth, Rose, Ivy.) I'm kind of fixated on it, but not enough to go out there and dig...yet.

Northern most easternmost park in Ramsey county. Completes my 4corners theory I've had a few years. With benson airport, bald eagle and Oneka golf course all surrounding it, we could chase big parks forever...but I digress....I'm letting it out so I can let it go.

Has a soccer field, play ground, swamp not much else. My son's soccer team had practice there 2 years ago.

I think any park in the general area would complete the 4 corners idea. It has never been antwfere near the ne corner. Lakewood would be the most likely in the ne.

I'm with ya Terry. Basically I'm holding on to my thoughts without getting park locked.

I had some thoughts - mostly random - during this crazy work day. One had to do with returning to start over - and thought about walking back and forth over that walking bridge on Lexington.

I think most of the rest were those fleeting kind that are quickly set aside for how stupid they are.

I thought bald eagle Otter would be the most logical..I just googled the corner and found the most north..east .. You can see both corners a block away... So if they were playing with lines, that park would, although not practical, be the chosen one.

I did a drive around a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is that is one big swampy pile of .... er park. Very undevoloped (other than the Bald Eagle boat launch area and the Otter Lake dog park, there isn't much there. I didn't even see signs identifying the park. Lots of woods a marsh and not too many entry points.

See I think the last line may be hinting at the labyrinth you pointed out.

I also think "is it far away, or where you've been" is asking you what part of the park... most of the como finds have been in the SW section of the park, so near where we've been before or far away.
