We usually end up scouting parks in the dark. It will be good to do that during the day for a change.

Going to scout around IM and BC too.

I LOVE that park. Specifically and generally.

And I have never liked BC for hunting.

Clue 2

Now and again, the plans of men

Are fouled beyond measure.

But rest assured, "wedged" is our word,

We've well secured the treasure.

Glad its secured.

Wedged - I wonder where - in a tree, under a rock, secured.

I wonder who will move it this year before it's found.

"I wonder who will move it this year before it's found."

heh

It is often moved by shovel, squirrel, kid or raccoon.

By the end of this, we'll know how well its wedged.

I keep wanting to think the first half is a history clue.

Wedged and bound(ary)+ inside the box and out makes me think they're playing with border between SP and RC. BC, Phalen, and Lillydale come to mind.

wedge alternate def - "a. Something that intrudes and causes division or disruption: His nomination drove a wedge into party unity."

Hi everyone, I was new here last year and have changed my screen name from English Teacher to Smore. Anyway, the quotes around "wedged" are interesting. I'm thinking it may be an anagram or some sort of trick. I'm thinking w-edge-d...but what would the w and the d mean?
Sun, 01/18/2015 - 10:46 PM Permalink
brasscat

it was a foul at swede too. The puck was to close to the brook...so both Phalen and Swede had mishaps. there are so may types of wedges. The clues are so obvious that they are screaming golf that I think all the golf interpretations are red herrings... look deeper...these first clues are meant to be vague.

Open water where there are many ducks, etc. gathered?

Feels like a history or current event clue.

The plans of men being fouled.

Could it be a history clue about a hunt gone wrong.

Phalen 2004, hidden falls 2007.

BC had a mishap (moved med) also. failen, swede, and BC were all acknowledged by goodhue in videos

fouled beyond measure...failen...they had us measure (take steps) from the nature sign and med was not there (moved by raccoon) swede, moved by reggie into creek, BC moved by me before found. All red herrings?

The title of this thread is, "2015 - Public Land In Ramsey County". Did the rules say Ramsey County? I'm not finding it. The medallion has been hidden in Dakota County.

Treasure Hunt clues will be published in the Pioneer Press and on TwinCities.com beginning with editions of Sunday, January 18, 2015.

A new clue will appear daily through Thursday, January 29, 2015, unless the medallion is found prior to that date. Read the daily clues to search for the Pioneer Press medallion hidden on public land in Ramsey County. The medallion will not be hidden on the State Capitol grounds, at Como Zoo & Conservatory, under any skating surface, on a golf course, under or on any artificial turf surface or at any construction site.

I didn't see that before, and recently I've been blocked from seeing the SPPP page because I have exceeded my 30-day limit. I just subscribed, but it hasn't kicked in yet. So, I appreciate you posting that clarification, Terry.

my first thoughts with fouled are a baseball reference. from the deed is done video we know that merriam was ragsdale's first year and we all cried foul over that one. and it was on a baseball diamond.

Phalen's plans were "fouled beyond measure" at least twice:

1. Murder indictment (Hays) and acquittal by jury. While he was in jail his original claim was jumped.

2. Filed a new land claim. A later perjury indictment caused him to flee to the west where he was killed in self defense by his companions.

for some reason I thought clue 1 meant it was off the ground, when they said don't dig in ground. Wedged fits for an off the ground hide. (Yes I know they also meant don't dig in the dirt)

"Well secured" . . . McAfee St. near Phalen?
Mon, 01/19/2015 - 8:51 AM Permalink

I think that just meant as a general rule, we are not to dig into the ground, ie it won't be buried in the ground.

could be.
