On Wednesday my husband went into a cyber cafe owned by these Germans and came out with the information that it had been found and that it was at Como.
Like you, I never believed it could be at Como. It was there just four years ago and all the Winter Carnival things were there. I thought they'd NEVER hide it there, they'd be insane to do so. And everyone who was suggesting that it was there was also insane. Plus I had no trouble fitting the clues to other parks, and pretty well at that. Then Clue 8 came out and basically said Como and it was like I got hit in the head by a two by four. I never even tried to match up the clues with Como because I *knew* it couldn't possibly be there. And then when it was, I realized I had no idea what the clues were talking about anymore. My digging partners dragged me out on Sunday anyway, and we did finally manage to get to the right part of the park, but we didn't stay too long and I never went out again after Sunday morning. I wasn't that close anyway. I wouldn't have ever looked in the area that it was found in, and even now that I know what the clues meant, I still can't see what inspired anyone to dig in the area in which it was found. Maybe because it was the only place where you could see both the alleged "opening below" and the trolley car.
You described the feeling well, the two by four. I was in disbelief when my husband told me it was Como. Methinks the clue writer is good at the head games! Well, I'm glad you got out there to dig a little. There's nothing like digging in the right park. I have to go out there and see the spot. I haven't done that yet. I started thinking back on the different hunts, and I have to say that Cherokee was the best hunt so far. The clues were great that year, and also the length of time it took added to it. But I do wish they'd hide it in Mounds one of these days. That's such a beautiful park with a great view. Next year, Allison.
Honestly, I don't know if they ever will use Mounds again. Seems like they would have done it by now. But its the sort of thing we'll never know unless and until they actually do it. And personally I liked Conway, although I wasn't very involved in Cherokee.
I'm not sure. They said they were going to come back next year to do some more filming, but they also said they would make a smaller version that was just for this year. I'd guess it will be several months at least though.

some people have said the same thing about como, too, allison. :)
although i'm with you on that. after the litter clue in 96, i'm fairly confident it won't be there. and conway was a good hunt. the first of the head games in recent history. is it a park or a rec center? our survey says: park.
allie, you definitely don't have to leave. after a sufficient mourning period, most of us will be moving over to shoot the breeze.
No, Como was the opposite. "I don't think it will be there because they JUST used it." I guess they're both based on patterns, but one becomes more likely every year while the other becomes less likely.
you're right. i should have used similar instead of same. i still expect phalen to be the target within the next couple of years. or at least the st. paul side.
Well I went ahead and reserved the cabin for Fitger's weekend. Its has two bedrooms with queen size beds, one with two twin beds, a loft with a queen size bed, and a sofa sleeper that's at least full size, maybe queen size. It has a 4 person hot tub and fully equipped kitchen and is smoke/pet free. I have 6 people definitely staying there so far and two maybes, so I'm looking for two to four more people that may want to hang out with us, or maybe even just think that $30 a night is a good rate for a place to stay for the weekend. so if you're planning on going to Fitger's and staying the weekend, let me know if you want to stay with us.
If you have Mom's address and Mom's Mom's address, could you send them to me? NL's going to try and get them, too.
What are the dates o'Schell's and Fitger's Bock Hunts? And may I bring a "guest"? If Stal can make them, he's going to do both hunts but I doubt if he's any more flush than I R. Could he, too, take advantage o'your floor????
Heard that driving to work tomorrow will be otay. BUMMER! Wanted a snow day to try and take care o'this house that Pickles has trashed (he drags EVERYTHING!).
I don't have those addresses either. I only know how to drive there...not the house numbers. I'll have to try to get those.
According to our web site, the Schell's hunt is on the 24th of February. The Fitger's hunt is on the 17th of March. We won't be doing the Schell's hunt. We need to spend some time up north.
A guest is welcome, Green. Just bring sleeping bags and a mattress or something unless the hard floor sounds comfy.
Thanks, Ter! Hard floor sounds fine to me with my 'bag. No worse than the hard ground of a tent, but much warmer! :D
I remembered the Fitger's date after I posted... DOH! MayBee being St. Patty's Day I'll get lucky and find a bock or four... Instead of a cow paper towel holder????
Can I tell you?
I just recently had to pitch my bock I bought at *that* place (name xcapes me...) after the first Fitger's Hunt. You know? When I was "totally clueless and in the dark"? LOL!!! He'd lost both horns and a leg... Poor guy.
Finally home after what turned into a very, VERY long day and night. Green - no need to send anything, but I can pass along those addresses to you myself, if you want.

I have to go to my meeting now...I get to look out the window!!!! Maybe Cluemaster'll float by.
I never get to go to meetings! I guess I'm not important enough.

Yes, Conway was right up there with Cherokee. I enjoyed that year also. When does this documentary come out?
I'm not sure. They said they were going to come back next year to do some more filming, but they also said they would make a smaller version that was just for this year. I'd guess it will be several months at least though.
Have a great year and I'll see you next year. You did a great job on the board.
Thanks, but don't feel like you have to go away for a whole year. We're going to have some other little hunts in the meantime.

Hello everyone!
We're doing the Fitger's hunt, but will be staying at our own place and commuting as it were. We've seen that Superior Shores - it's a nice place!
This snow sure is peaceful, isn't it? As long as you don't have to drive in it, it's quite pretty.
Hi Serik - friend of Tim! Glad you made it here.
Howdy-Doo, Ter!
If you have Mom's address and Mom's Mom's address, could you send them to me? NL's going to try and get them, too.

Time for a new bock!
Tobie's.
THAT'S IT!!!! You're rite!!!
All I could think of was "Tiny's", "Timmie's"...
LOL!!!
It should be a fun weekend. I'm looking forward to another hunt.
Hope the weather doesn't keep us from up north this weekend. It's been too long as it is.
The cow paper towel holder was still there last year. So was that crazy elevator.
I'll have to get right home afterwards as I'll have to get bock to Hattie...
That means I won't get to partake o'the beer drinking contest... Or inbibe at the bar (hope I don't get the Bar Bock...), but thass otay.
Weekend's supposed to Bee frigid, but I think clear.
Wish it'd snow about 56 inches tonite...
Good evening!
Finally home after what turned into a very, VERY long day and night. Green - no need to send anything, but I can pass along those addresses to you myself, if you want.
Hi Mom!
OH, GODS!!! THE E-LEAVE-E-ATOR!!! I'd forgotten!!!
The HIGHLIGHT of the Bock Hunt! The ELEVATOR!!!
Terry spewing and sputtering and punching buttons... And me and Inks unable to breathe because we're laughing so hard!!!
Gods, but that's a classic moment!!!
Oh, Mom.
((((((((((Mom))))))))))
Please, if you would.
Love you.
Green - Why do you need the floor then if you gotta go back? What am I missing here?
Ittiz otay, Ter. You've prolly got buttons on your mind...
I'll/We'll go up Fri nite - stay at your place - and come home Sat after the Bock Hunt.
Capice?
Terry, are we still invited? Still don't know if children will be along, and if so, how many.....
I think maybe we'll save the staying over in Duluth for maybe an anniversary getaway....
Mom - the bedroom is already reserved with your name on it.
Where will Dad sleep?
That poor stranger in that elevator...I still wonder if he ever thinks about that time.
I get it now, Green.
Dad will sleep with Mom.
Awwwwwww Maaaannnn!
And I thought I was finally gonna get my own room!
LOL!!!!!!!!
I'll sleep with Dad...
LOL!!!
Now Green! Behave!!!
Otay... (sigh)
Good evenin!
Good evening all. I think I have finally recovered from my day at work. I hope that all is well with everyone.
