Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Timmers,I did see that!
Toldja!:)
Hey Allison and Mr.Liqour! Lookin forward to hangin wit ya'll tonight!
I saw Violent J and the clown posse are back for another run at the hunt..
What's interesting is that there is no place in the universe where it is absolute zero. I always believed it was absolute zero in space but, it is not.
Goodmorning - eyes half open, still in my robe and slippies-I cannot believe I am up so late thismorning. I woke up to hear my 10 year old watching Bugs Bunny say he needed to get his cigarette lighter! no kidding. I had to tell her that this cartoon came out when they did not know better. FYI-I do not smoke (husband does but not around the kids).
Marley Queen-I love the idea that Harriet and Como may be entwined in the clues somehow.
LL - my family tree goes back to Hinckley-they were in the Great Hinckley Fire. And that Cubed Gem thing is COOL-that would be a "princess cut" -my wedding ring is that way.
I also love the Highland Park idea-they may mean stay away from Como (golf course) but refer to Highland.
In the late 19th century (1800's) eastern european and Russian Jews made there first home on the west side and then moved to the Highland Park area. So if there is any reference to Russia or Europe / Cubed Gems that puts it in Highland and Edgecumbe runs through Highland Park near the golf course----SOLVED. hehehe
Highland Park.....Mostly Catholics or Jewish!:) I worked on Snelling and Randolph for eight years...I'm an Irish/German Catholic 1/2 of my clientele was Hasidic Jewish...really wonderful folks! Oh and the food during the holy days! YUMMY!
I grew up there too-Wellesley near Hamline---kids go to Randolph now I went to Randolph my aunts and uncle & mom too. Family tradition just like the Medallion Hunt. I also grew up in Como Park as a teen.
hahahahahha-Scribe--you were saying about the west side being mexican? -note: the next page in the Hunters Guide after Weida is EL RIO VISTA REC and PARK CASTILLO located on the west side!!!!
Me2,Nother one of my stompin grounds in high school! I actually dated a korean boy from the west side but all his freinds were mexican...we were a strange group!LOL! WE liked to hang out on the old green stairs over the caves and do goofy dangerous stuff!
Parque Castillo is a little park on the mexican fringe...lots of work was done to it bout four years ago.A group of girl scouts and myself designed a native garden there.
JOE! did I do it right? Am I supposed to catch it by saying Joe? or not do anything?
I always have what I call "the claw" - a garden tool great for scraping through the snow---my husband is in mgmt at Linders-we both used to work for Wolters Greenhouses in West St. Paul for many years until they retired.
Timmers,I did see that!

I like Highland,Highland is good.

Mornin' all!
Just read the rules and realized the total prize is worth $11,200 this year.
$1,200 in Cub groceries, $2,500 cash for finding it, $2,500 for having the clues and $5,000 from Ma Press.
Also, Jake and Allison were both correct on Absolute Zero. Absolute Zero is -459 F & -273 C.

ok-I keep missin' Jake on here.
E&H- I love the idea of a new park.

Do we bring food to the Pre-Bash????
oh Scribe...here is another for ya...
The hunt begins with the #1 clue at 12:00 midnight on 1-20-2002
am I alone again?--I am always alone...that is why I am Me2 (me too) dont forget about me!
OMG! thats cool!
Nope, Me2, no pot-luck for The Pre-Dig Gig since ittiz at McGovern's. The Re-Hash Bash, now that's pot luck. We'll post more on that later.
Ian, HOPEFULLY, will bring his Sloppy Joe Medallions... He's not missed a year yet and he makes them himself.
I'll prolly bring corn-on-the-cob. Maybee some Devil's Den Eags... Maybee some o'my chile/cheese dip...
We are not allowed to have potatoe salad... LOL!!!
that IS techniqually our first clue! not at como zoo, golf course, or Harriet. so I wonder if they will refer to an island like area.
In the late 19th century (1800's) eastern european and Russian Jews made there first home on the west side and then moved to the Highland Park area. So if there is any reference to Russia or Europe / Cubed Gems that puts it in Highland and Edgecumbe runs through Highland Park near the golf course----SOLVED. hehehe
Me2,Thats interesting since the west end and west side are now considered the mexican settling point..
ok-just looked in the St Paul Parks Guide #2-- what a co-ink-i-dink --
look at Eileen Weida park! first of all in the book-the first park above it is Edgcumbe hahahahaha
Then it says that it is located IN "railroad ISLAND". (hot Harriet)
near SWEDE HOLLOW! (we just talked yesterday about it)
Views of the Capitol (hence 9-11 US flag, government-good year to be patriotic)
Weida-Weird eh?
Highland Park.....Mostly Catholics or Jewish!:) I worked on Snelling and Randolph for eight years...I'm an Irish/German Catholic 1/2 of my clientele was Hasidic Jewish...really wonderful folks! Oh and the food during the holy days! YUMMY!
"Weida-Weird eh?"
That would be a good clue to that park!
I grew up there too-Wellesley near Hamline---kids go to Randolph now I went to Randolph my aunts and uncle & mom too. Family tradition just like the Medallion Hunt. I also grew up in Como Park as a teen.
Bein a good Catholic girl....I hung out with lots of folks from Cretin and St.Thomas......course I hung with the punk rockers from Highland too..
Variety! The spice of life!
hahahahahha-Scribe--you were saying about the west side being mexican? -note: the next page in the Hunters Guide after Weida is EL RIO VISTA REC and PARK CASTILLO located on the west side!!!!
You would think the hider of the puck would use these books as guides of where NOT to hide it.
Me2,Nother one of my stompin grounds in high school! I actually dated a korean boy from the west side but all his freinds were mexican...we were a strange group!LOL! WE liked to hang out on the old green stairs over the caves and do goofy dangerous stuff!
Parque Castillo is a little park on the mexican fringe...lots of work was done to it bout four years ago.A group of girl scouts and myself designed a native garden there.
the green stairs by Ohio? or the green stairs by Wabasha? Are you reliving old memories? It is nice to remember things from long ago. :)
Wabasha.....Sorry about the old memories but these places just make me think is all......memories is how I pick my favorite parks!:)
To warm up for the hunt..I'm gonna go do a few estate sales see what I can scrounge up...:)
I love estate sales and garage sales-always looking for more pre1880 St Paul history stuff.
Thats it! To be able to own a peice of history!
And I love old tools and garden paraphanalia...I actually do the hunt with some of that stuff! Doubles as good weapons too!LOL!
Here I go...

JOE! did I do it right? Am I supposed to catch it by saying Joe? or not do anything?
I always have what I call "the claw" - a garden tool great for scraping through the snow---my husband is in mgmt at Linders-we both used to work for Wolters Greenhouses in West St. Paul for many years until they retired.
