Slim the only thing I don't like about your idea is I think there needs to be a fire pit or grills at the park its at....light a spark and Diamond in the rough...I'm thinking its buried in the pit someplace...
Danielle - I don't see why they couldn't bury it in sand either. I don't see how digging can destroy sand - that's what it is for!!! Besides, todays clue says it is going to be tough and they know there isn't going to be much snow by the time it is found.

Danielle, the book says it's never buried in the dirt, however, it could be frozen in a clump(the Diamond in the rough) That's been done a few times

I don't think there is a fire pit a Merriam however I forgot to add that one to my list I saw something else ther that would fit my spark theory

Gates at Phalen were closed. But, there's a parking lot on the north end by the boat launch that's open (use your legs)
