Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
leelabell
DM - we will still be there
Jim - clue explanations are on the website - we think the rehash will be this sunday, but don't know for sure.
So has anyone verified the bash this weekend yet?? At least I will still be able to kinda feel like the hunt is still on....ugh I am going through Post Medallion Symdrom!!
I wouldn't say the clues were easy. They were actually quite difficult to interpret because we're so accustomed to dissecting them and placing great emphasis on each word. In general, each clue had two meaningful lines mixed in and around two lines of CRAP that threw us off. The clue writer obviously did not employ the same strategy and include the same level of complexity within each clue that preceding writers had. Such a drastic change in writing style was virtually impossible to anticipate and tough to adapt to.
I cannot believe that there were no street references until Clue #11 ! And Clue #10 is the only one that is even remotely clever... I don't want another medallion hunt this year. PP had months to come up with this set of clues. Can you imagine how much worse the clues would be if hastily written ?
Lisa's mommy, I believe we were all saying this Sunday would works best since we were all planning to dig anyway. Keep looking here and at the coolercrew site for more info.
Actually Leela, its fairly simple. Just email to Sysop, tell them a screen name, and the email addy of the name, and within a day they will give you the password.
OK we have an idea, those medalling kids and I. I think we should all e-mail the PP and ask for another hunt, less reward money of coarse. They did it before WAY back in the 50's. Atleast it would be something. I expect atleat a full week of joy every year.
Okay then I will be at Mirriam on monday hope to meet alot of you. Ummmbut wait I hear talk of McGoverns tonight????? I can do that too maybe I can drink the depression away or somehting and the guy who cut me off in front of the PP last night well he can buy me a drink or vise-versa. anyone know who that is in the little green audi??Mine was the big tan boat...
I guess now I don't have to try to find sitters and go to PP tonight. Hubby doesn't work tonight and I had a chance to go and meet a few of you. Oh, well.
TO THOSE OF YOU WHO TOLD ME YESTERDAY IT COULD NOT BE AT KELLER: YOU WERE WRONG. YES KELLER IS IN MAPLEWOOD BUT IT WAS THERE IN 1976. ITS ALSO BEEN FOUND IN ROSEVILLE AND W. ST PAUL
Jan I hate to even rehash clues at this point but read clue number one...do you see that it says in a st paul park??? It doesn't say in Ramsey county....
Scribe, I would love to be there. I'll have to really, really coax my hubby to go. I guess if I mention BEER, he might not fuss so much. I'm the cooler head and he's the shoveler.
Well Im off. Hopefully I'll get to meet a few of you tonight. It's been a fun year (minus Mr News) and I cant wait till next year. See you all later!
Final Teaching #infinity:
If you know where it is, go there. If you were treking on it, I feel bad for you. Now that I realized I was the one who was treking on it, I feel like such a dumbass!
Jan, after the medallion was found at Wakefield Park, Mplwd said they would never have it in their city again because people destroyed the park. If the clue specifies St Paul, it usually rules out the suburbs. If it says, Ramsey Cty in the clues, that's when we think outside the city.
Jan...I don't know the particulars, but there has been trouble in the past in Maplewood (property damage I believe), and the city of Maplewood will not allow it to be hidden there.
seems to me that the clue writer could throw everyone off from the start just by mentioning Ramsey County, then hiding it in Rice Park. We would be stumpped for weeks, all looking in Maplewood, roseville.
Sounds good if the building is open on Sunday. Unless anyone has a good reason not to do the rehash this Sunday, let's go for it. It makes sense being the weather will be good and all that.
Wait did I say Monday?? I meant sunday.... whos going to McGoverns?? and for whoever said something about a park out of st. paul I invite you to spend as much time as you want out there. I am so depressed. Thanks to all ya all that worked in here with me I hope to see ya all next year I am sure I will if I am not in jail or dead.
DM - we will still be there

Yep TD! I'll take care of it.
