Mr. Mikey, of all the people, I figured you and Leelabell to be the two most likely to find the Med.  Both of you were right on it.

Man, I hope ittiz in BC next year.  I want a chance at finding it!  LOL!!!

Can somebody help me....

last night I was reading "the treasure hunt" by Barr...

I think its in chapter 8.....the family is noodling a clue....and they had some great little source to help them...like a book......

I don't recall what it was...but I know I don't have it in my books to noodle with...

Its bugging me and I won't be able to look at the book until I get home...

(I know its not a THG or a Hudson's mapbook) grrrr...what was it...

KITCH

Eric ...you should do the North Branch hunt....I don't know anybody that lives up that way other than you....

I think that we should have a Cooler Crew Hall of Fame. I have no idea what the criteria would be, but it would be a good excuse to get together and party at some point. We could have people nominate Crew members and you would have to have been a Coolerhead for a certain number of years. Possibly a fun tradition to start. Hell it works well for Baseball! Maybe I am just going through the hunter withdrawal. I cannot wait for Sunday! I might see some of you at the movie on Saturday as well.

That area's a little dicey, not too bad though. Probably not much worse than where I used to live. An acre lot? How much are they asking?

200k....

but I guess  the main issue is it doesn't have city water.

200k for a 2 bedroom 1 bath rambler with no city water? Insane.

Or maybe even a Treasure Hunter's Hall of Fame, although there are quite a few people who would probably need to be in the initial induction depending on how many years was the minimun requirement.

Frosti - Think thats insane ... check out the price of my property!  26 wooded acres on a private lake!

Kitch - I just might do the North Branch hunt ... wanna join me?

Anyone - Someone at my work said Stillwater has an annual hunt in the spring with a 10 grand prize also ... I can find nothing online other than they have a hunt.  Can anyone validate or invalidate this for me?  Stillwater is about 15 minutes south of me!!!

If he grew up in the country he should be used to not having city water. They can just put up an outhouse and call it good!

as far as i know, there are several folks from the cooler who are down at the press faithfully every night."

Several isn't that many considering how many people are on this board. I know who the people are down there -- I'd say there were a half-dozen to a dozen "faithful" clue-getters. And, the "as far as I know" statement suggests you aren't one of them. I'm not disparaging the people who don't get the clue. I'm simply saying that if the Pioneer Press wants to hold onto that tradition they are going to have to reward those who do go down there. Otherwise people like me (21 nights out of 22 in the last two years -- I forgot that I didn't go down on #12 at Phalen and instead went right to the park) will become web trolls, too. If that's what they want, that's what they'll get. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

From what I understand, they (MA Press) considered getting rid of getting the clue at the paper all together.

When does North Saint Paul have one???  I think I am going to compile a list of hunts and whatnot and pop it up on our website.

WarmMilk

I hadn't heard that, but that's one solution. I'm sure 50-100 people picking up a paper at night isn't much more than a hassle for them.

Whoever said there were only 6-12 cooler crew members down at ma press was severly mistaken. I was there every night except for the last (because I was at the park), the lowest number was clue 1 in which only Jake and I went to get the clue. After that there were atleast 20 and probably closer to 35 coolerheads down there every night.
