It's still in the valley of death, I'll be there this weekend to see how that area is anyway.

Its wet...and muddy.

on the subject of leaving food in the backyard...
We have squirrels and birds that show up in the summer and take food from our dogs food dish, when he's not outside...

the squirrels mainly, because my dad used to give them cookies, and crackers, to keep himself occupied, before I moved in over here

now the clown occupies him instead of squirrels? interesting visual- sees dad throw circus peanuts out for the clowns and fill Faygo into bowl ;)

Nah... when i moved in, so did my dog who was put to sleep, like 2 years ago... and now we have a new dog, and a cat...

If you knew my dad... you'd understand what I mean, by "keeping himself busy"... he needs to do stuff, otherwise, he's a pain in the ass.

enough about that though...

GO SEE DAWN OF THE DEAD!!!!! NOW!!!! IT KICKS ASS!!!!

The Star Tribune's Golden Ticket contest starts next Sunday, March 28th. I believe it runs from the 28th to April 2nd. When I find more info, I'll post it here.

That would be an awesome find, season tickets! But we would have to do our hunting on the other side of the river, I'd need to do my homework on those Mpls. parks

From:Mrs. Mary Agu

Compliments of the day!!

I am Mrs. Mary Agu a former staff of the Federal Ministry of Aviation undergoing medical Treatment. I am married to Dr. John Agu who worked with National Petroleum Corporation for nineteen years before he died in the year 2003.

We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.Since his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home, which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited a huge sum of money with one finance/security company in Europe. Presently, this money is still with the Security Company. This money was accumalated from an onshore engineering award my husband won during the last military regime.

Recently, my Doctor told me that my condition with the special grace of God would soon be okay.Though what disturbs me most is that am diagonised to be having spinal abnormalty. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church or better still a God fearing individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here in. I want a church or individual that will use this to fund orphanages, widows etc propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that giveth.

I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband’s
relatives are not Christians and has being maltreating me with the only motive to take away the funds from me becuase of my faith and trust in God since his death hence I don't want my husband's hard earned money to be misused by this
unbelievers. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly manner, hence the reason for taking this bold decision.

I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the lord one day. If you will be of assistance, I will surely appreciate and thank you for your kindness in giving me this help. You can respond using email address mrsmaryagu9@uymail.com

Thank you

Mrs. Mary Agu

A virus would make me e-mail people even when I am not online?

It's probably not you that is actually sending it out, but someone else, under your e-mail address.

Some viruses search for e-mail addressess on your pc(Any e-mail address), then sends itself out under those e-mail addresses.

So, most likely someone with your addy on their PC is infected, and their machine is sending out e-mails under your addy.

    Does that make sense?

sounds like the junk that's been showing up on the computers here at work. I end up explaining to the people here how it's not their computer sending the emails, but some other computer that has their email address on it.

It'd also work if a PC that's infected has visited any websites where your email was displayed (in text) on that site, if it's cached in the browser history, the virus on that PC will find it and use it as another email address to spoof itself.

    Stupid juvenile hackers...

    For Me2:

Email 1- I got something like that also. I'm not sure what it was about. Possibly some kind of scam to verify your email as active. If you were to reply to it, that would show it was active and it becomes more valuable on spam lists. I just ignored the one I got.

Email 2- A variation on the classic "Nigerian Scam", although a rather interesting one. As I understand it, they claim they have some huge sum of money that they need to move out of this foreign country, often millions of dollars. They want to know if you would be so kind as to hold it for them and they may even give you a cut of the money. Of course in order to transfer all this money into your account, you'll have to give them all of your banking information. Funny then when money ends up going out of the account instead of into it.

Email 3- A process known as "spoofing". In the good old days, when someone got a virus and sent it out to all their friends, one of their friends might notice and tell them that the person sending the email must have a virus. This made it easier to not only curtail the spread of the virus somewhat, but also to track it back to it's origins. But now these viruses can be sent from one email, and yet made to look like it came from a different, totally unrelated email. The second email address is typically one that is somewhere on the infected computer's hard drive. And then if an email ends up bouncing back, it goes back to the email address it *thinks* it came from, not the one it actually came from.

So the bottom line is...ignore them all.

Is it true that there was no Boreas Rex XIII ?

    The reply

    Ian, you are correct!

"Legend" has it that Boreas Rex was superstitious, so they skipped thirteen and went right on to Boreas Rex XIV. (And it doesn't hurt to be one up on Vulcanus Rex does it?) That is why John Bennet is Boreas Rex the 68th and
Tommy Barret is Vulcanus Rex the 67th!

Thank you for your question, have a good day!

I see your e-mail is King Boreas- how fun! What other facts can I help you find? The new "Fire and Ice" book is very helpful if you are looking for info. It's at Barnes and Nobel for about $20. I also know many people in carnival who are wonderful info sources. Please let me know if you need more help or if you would like to volunteer for Carnival in 2005. (Yes, I am starting my recruiting now!)

Minnesota Historical Society may have some information.

Also, a book I would recommend for fun... Sherlock Holms and the Ice Palace Murders... two St Paul business leaders families' are about to be united by marriage at the 1889 Ice Palace... that is, until the grooms misteriously disappears 3 days before the ceremony.....I am only on Chapter 4 so far, but if you dig Winter Carnival History, you will like this story. I do so far!

yup...RAMSEY COUNTY Historical Society ....NOT MHS!

MHS put up a neat littlearea on Winter Carnival BUT, RCHS had a better set up in the Landmark Center in January. It is down now, but they put it up every year. ::sticks tounge out at MHS:: ;)
