speaking of !!!- Coca-Cola Co. on Monday unveiled C2, a soft drink with less than half the calories and carbohydrates of the original Coke and an ad campaign pitched at followers of trendy Atkins-style diets.
I still have a case of Viking pop bottles in my garage. The only time we had pop was when we went on vacation and we'd take the kids and walk through the aisles and they'd pick their pop. I loved the black cherry.
I'm too young of a pup to remember much of anything old in the pop category.
Anyone remember that "OK" soda? I seem to remember that stuff tasted like they scraped the bottom of all the soda flavor barrels and mixed it together. Nasty.
I went into a store and asked for pop and ice cubes and they started laughing at me. Seems it's "soda and ice" down there. No such thing as "cubes". They really got a kick out of the "cube" thing.
Rondo had those stupid TV commercials where a guy would slug the whole can down, crunch it in his fist, and set the smashed can in front of the camera for a close up. Amazing the stuff lasted as long as it did, with that stupid of an ad campaign.
The Pop Shop! Now that damn jingle is going to be stuck in my head.
Pop Shop, doodle-e-ah dah dee dah dah Pop Shop, doodle-e-ah dah dee dah dah Pop Shop, doodle-e-ah dah dee dah dah Pop Shop!

Yup, thats the one! I was a little worried no one else would remember :)
It moved and converged with channel 136 which was G4. Now it's called G4Tech Tv. Looks like "Call For Help" show is gone. It seems to be mostly about video games now. Tech Tv web site is gone also.
Alas, the last of the dot com era is falling apart. When tech tv is forced to merge with some other thing, and then be mostly about gaming. Guess it's back to the net to get tech stuff (though most of us techies never left that)
I have it in the DVD player now, gonna watch it tonight...
Hey here is a good one... So we were watching Messengerlast night -it is that Joan of Arc movie...FYI: yesterday was also Marks birthday...
at the very end of the movie the movie said that Joan of Arc was burned at the stake on May 30th 1431 !!! WHOA! not only were we watching it on May 30th but it was Marks birthday ! I cant believe a triple coincidence plus 1 ...31 + 31 = 62 and Mark was born in 1962 ;p
That's nothing, try waking up at 4am to find a couple kids decided to have fun with a stolen car by trying to run it down a hill near your house. Happened at my place. My roommates said they've never seen a muffler glowing red before.
they stuck a stick in to push the throttle (gas pedal) to the floor, so the engine was running at very high RPMs, much higher than your average RPMs while driving, so the muffler was getting overheated (not to mention the rest of the car, good thing they got out there and shut it off before too long).
The hooligans decided to use our driveway as the "launch ramp" and pointed it down the hill. Luckily, it was winter and the car got stuck on the snowbank, otherwise if it would have made it down the hill, it probably would hae crashed into a house. Still, seeing a revving car teetering on a snowbank wasn't too fun.
check out an indi film called Interstate 60, it stars James Marsden (Cyclops from X-Men) and Amy Smart (a female lead in Rat Race). It got little (if any) theatrical release but after catching it about a month ago on DVD, my roommate and I probably spent about three hours discussing it. It is a great movie to watch and think about.
Anyone remeber the "Pop Shop", soda pop store?
I think it was late 1970's early 1980's when they were around.
They didn't last long.
They should open a store that has all of the discontinued pops throughout the years, I liked a lot of them. Crystal Pepsi, O.K., Pepsi Blue etc.
I was thinking of the "POP shop" for a while this a.m.
also Viking Pop...
My roommate has a "Pop Shop" soda pop bottle. Not sure about any viking ones (but then, he does have a lot of bottles, gets em from estate auctions).

is it also only half the taste? Hehe
Anyone remember the "Pop Shop", soda pop store?
Those were awesome. Always got two of every flavor. They changed to Viking in '79. In Cottage Grove anyway.

Me and my brother used to love Rhondo, anyone remember that one?
Yeah, Surge was a good one! Can't say that I remember Rhondo, when did it come out?

I have a case of Pop Shop bottles, red heavy duty plastic crate. I bought 20 +/- Viking bottles at a thrift store last year for $5.00
OK had really weird cans, cartoons in black and white.
I have 60-80 old pop bottles: NEHI, Mason's Root Beer, Bubble-up, etc.
What happened to Tech TV! I wanted to watch screen savers today and the channel is gone! Seems they merged with G4 or something.
wha? tech tv is gone?

Just came in to take a JOE!
I don't have cable, so I've never even seen Tech TV.
http://www.g4techtv.com/home.aspx?noflash=t
I don't have the channel..but I used the website alot.
now that I really look at it...yep this sucks...
I used the website alot for tips and tricks...
I'm not a gamer....I mean tips and tricks for windows and pc.
Comcast owns G4....and then bought Tech tv..... you can do the math on the rest of it.
all i know is G4 sucks and tech tv rocked...
I'm sure you'll see the commercial aspect of G4/Tech to reflect alot of the "services" provided and upcoming from a certain cable provider.
I'll drink to that!
of course I'll drink to anything
So any word on any mock hunts coming up? Is Marley still doing his?
me2 was over today, and I said she's doing the next one.
That's all I know.
Oh sure, invite her over to your shed but not the rest of us.
no mock hunts that I know of, but I'll be nice and share some information.
The city of Oakdale is having a medallion hunt, starting on June 21st. Finder gets $1500.
Oh sure, invite her over to your shed but not the rest of us.
She wasn't invited into the shed. I made her stay in the kitchen and admire it from afar.
Big Fish? Good flick. I recommend it.
I have it in the DVD player now, gonna watch it tonight...

Never a dull moment at the Taylor residence. :-)
