until they've experienced it for themselves, vino, no one ever "gets" it.

but they know.
you are a third of the way to st. paul.
heh
But after sending out my invites with the rhyme on there - I got several calls of WTF is up with you and this poem?
so far, I just laugh and say - you will see. you will see.
and chase people around, trying to draw a V on their face....
It would look even more insane
In the past, Vulcans wore grease paint on their cheeks and gave women a check-to-cheek "smooch" or "smudge." After complaints in the 1970s, the smudge was largely abandoned. Now, the Vulcans use grease paint sticks to mark participants, mostly children, with a "V."
The Vulcan and his men utter many whoops and yips,
As they smooch the lovely girls and smudge them with their lips.
Some distance from the hiding place and high up in the air,
Are stacks, that pour forth sooty smoke by more than just a pair.
:pbpt:
My mother has plenty of photos of me bawling my eyes out after being smudged from them.
of all things to be afraid of as a child - men with facial hair... or apparently painted on facial hair.
When I got a little older, they would still chase me through the front yard and grab me and smudge me during the parade.
Vulcan History
edit-Heres the link
the "V" was too sought after to stick around in any one place for any amount of time, or else they'd get mobbed by tons of us little kids...
I also believe that, it was after one of those parades... 1994 or '95, which was where we first got the idea to steal the ICP paint design....
One of the ladies down at Twin Cities Magic & Costume on W. 7th, told me a couple years ago, that they were the store that those guys purchase most of their grease marker things from.... they get some kinda "vulcan discount" or something.....
will post them soon, hopefully.... if I can get the camera and the computer to get along with eachother....
the pit itself looks the same, only with snow... kinda surprising, since this summer it was so overgrown, it just looked like a thick forest.... snapped a couple of that.... along with one of "ClueMaster's crop circle" area.....and a few others..
I was soooo afraid of them. One year I ran and got the hose and said if they got any closer I'd dowse them.
looking back - it's funny.
then, it was terrifying.
I got to read some of the stuff Scribe brought home.
Very cooler. Especially the one about ripping the park field apart.
