Oh my. This sounds better and better. I'm beginning to have kind of a mini-dilemna of a good kind though - trying to think what we should drink first!Â
We've got that Black Snow Coffee Porter you bought. Then I've got a Terminal Gravity IPA, huge bottles of Stone Brewing's Ruination IPA and Double Bastard Ale, and a huge bottle of Rogue brewery's that I can't recall the name of right now, that is also an ale of the flavorful variety. Oh, and a bottle of that Scottish Porter I wanted you to try. How not to kill the tastebuds... start early and proceed with caution, I guess, eh!?
Hey All, You drank all the Autumn Sunset just as winter began....nice work! Last time you drank the whole batch in 8 days...we finally made you more. This Wednesday 12/29/04 we will release 1800, yep from 5-6pm pints are just $1. This is the classic English IPA that was made from a recipe we dug up from the year 1800. Unfiltered, yellow, hop devil that weighs in @ 7.1%abv. Come and enjoy....while it lasts
Uh, dude - it's a weekday. I hate to say I'm getting old and boring, but I like have to be in bed by 7. :) I don't even get off work until 5. You do the math.
OTOH, the fans and phenomenon surrounding it is scary. Yesterday in the Philosophy section at B&N (Frosti ain't the only one getting gift certificates) I saw a book about the Deeper Meaning of LOTR philosophical thought.
Beer Fans, Tickets are now on sale for the 4th annual Winterfest Celebration. This festival is sponsered by the MN Craft Brewer's Guild and features the Winter/Big Beers from Minnesota Brewers. It is a great fest that invites brewers to dig deep in the cellar and bring out all that special and vintage beer, as well as usual favorites. Live jazz music brings a great atmosphere to life while you sip from your commemorative tasting glass. This year's event will take place at the St. Paul College Club (990 Summit Ave), that's right in the mansion next door to the Governor's residence. We already have 11 Minnesota breweries showcasing their beer with hopes of 16 possible. The date is Saturday, Feb. 19 from 6:30-9:30pm. Tickets have sold out all of the first three years and we predict the same this year. Don't wait to long........
Tickets on sale at the Town Hall Brewery in Minneapolis and Great Waters Brewing in St. Paul.
The new beer, 1800, at Town Hall Brewing was very good. Quite hoppy, but not floral like a traditional IPA. Different than anything I've had before. It's based on an old beer recipe they found from the 1800s. It's high hop and high alcohol contents were originally designed to help the beer last a long sea voyage without going bad (hops are a preservative). It's also unfiltered so it has a nice cloudy appearance.
In other news, I got my envelope of free swag from flying dog brewing the other day. One sticker, one coaster and a bunch of Steadman labels. Want some? Follow this linkand see the Attention Collectors message at the bottom of the page for instructions. Did I mention it's free?
Wired for wiring, yay!
My Amazon list is under my yahoo e-mail address. There's not much on there, I just started it last month.
I stopped off at Town Hall last night and picked up a growler of their Black Snow Coffee Porter. For the wiring project, dontcha know.
Â
I'm buying 6 of those next week....figured i'm giving away 4 of them for christmas to my brother-in-laws.....
Its gotta be the best present to give.....(I get to drink at least a pint of each one I give away).
This sounds divine.
And it's made with politically correct and yummy Peace Coffee.
Oh my. This sounds better and better. I'm beginning to have kind of a mini-dilemna of a good kind though - trying to think what we should drink first!Â

I should get some cheese. To cleanse the palatte.
Beer and cheese. Hmm. Nice. How about some pretzels?
I might even already have some pretzels. And I know I've got Ranch flavored chips!
heh. Great! We're all set then.
Swell. Let the pigging out begin.

Sigh. Tempting bastard.
I'll meet you at the Cedar/Riverside LRT station at 4:45 and we can walk over there together. :-)
crap!
<evil chuckle>
"So Bob, what made you drop out?"
"I listened to Black Sabbath at 78 speed and saw God."
"I had the same thing happen to me, except it was Grand Funk."
Who's Hanna? rrroww
[Edited by on Dec 28, 2004 at 09:53am.]
I have absolutely no idea.Â
Well jeez, had I known she would be there I would have come to the party with you!
You were invited, as I recall. And even phoned at least once to remind you! Heh.
I know. But you didn't mention Hanna.
I hear the cute guy in the front is monogamous tho. Now there's a shame.
meowwww
You mean that plastered dude with the loopy grin?Â
That's the one she's referring to. I've seen that loopy grin before.
Speaking of plastered, Town Hall tonight? Anyone? Bueller?

More ammo for my "why I detest the LOTR 'movie' abomination". Heh.

Meet me at 5, we drink until 6, home by 7. Simple math. ;-)
I loved the LOTR series.
OTOH, the fans and phenomenon surrounding it is scary. Yesterday in the Philosophy section at B&N (Frosti ain't the only one getting gift certificates) I saw a book about the Deeper Meaning of LOTR philosophical thought.
Scary I say.
That kind of stuff has always been out there. The movies just brought it to a wider audience.
Yes, but.
It's still scary.
Yeah. Ric dressed as a fighting Uruk-hai still gives me the willies. ;-)
sorry I can't make it...
that is just plain EVIL
Ha! I talked my brother into going with me. We'll be there between 4:30-4:45. I'll buy the first $1 pint for anybody else who shows up.
Now that'sevil. Heh.
Truly. I shall use my will-power to deny you, evil tempting dude!
About the 57th time you read the series (and I'm talkin' with the Silmarillion and the Hobbit), the philosophy starts to make sense. Keep at it. :)

What is this, taunt Sparky day?! Fine, sign me up then!
I'm not taunting, merely informing. The 19th is my wedding anniversary, by the way.
Holy Schnikeys! So we should be buying you a ticket. :)
I was gonna' post this on LJ, for all those fighting the evil addictions. I'd forgotten just how fun that comic was.

Speaking of fun, did you see Fuzzy today? Satchel is writing about how he feels.
Yep, saw that - with his paws. heh.Â

I like the high alcohol content on most of their beer's.
The main problem is I'd love to sit and try a bunch in a night...but that would be near impossible.
Â
Nah, just very inconvenient. :)
Inconvenient, yeah.
"I swear honey, I have no idea what happened to my pants!"
Or my wallet, or that guy I was with!
OK, that's it. I'm taking my sleepy ass home and making guacamole.
