we can go back to the other but I thought if its talked about alot than it would be confined and not inbetween lots of other posts. doesn't matter to me just so everyone who wants to know whats going on can find it. We could just rename the thread to something else - a get well thread. It's not like theres a cluey thread - heh oh thats the no mod!
he's got a couple of us making sure he gets plenty to drink and taking drugs on schedule. He may have slipped a disc in his lower back on top of everything else. I may loan him the laptop so he can come in to the Cooler but he isn't getting any rest!! he can't fall asleep.
hi everyone, Im really sorry I have not been online to post any updates. The last 2days have been crazy. understatement.
in a quick nutshell.
Brad is in Windwoods Hospital. He was admitted a couple days ago.
it's been test after test. our cluey is pretty sick but the doctors seem pretty close in a diagnosis. Yesterday, in a nutshell, was a big "F-up" - I brought my laptop up so he can post soon. He is loking good right now but the dr. is here to do an echocardiagram. they may send him to st joes
hi guys, brad here. still in the hospital (Woodwinds). It's been a physical and emotional roller coaster ride. long story short, I was diagnosed with bronchitis then pneumonia then misdiagnosed with leukemia and as it sits now I have endocarditis. I've never hurt more in my life. the pain meds are helping very little. Support from family and friends like you are helping out alot.
Brad! Hugs to you and hurry up and get well. Hope now that they have a diagnosis, they can turn this around quickly!!! Glad you could post and let us know. And very, very glad about that one diagnosis being a misdiagnosis! Big, big hugs and lots of prayers to you!
I'm sure hearing about a lot of people who have some kind of nasty viral crud that's going around.
I just heard two of my wife's friends have gotten rather ugly staph infections from rather simple cuts - one had just a popped zit! I'm kind of worried there are more and more of those 'superbugs' around. Makes you think twice about shaving - and I use an electric razor!
hey, an update, Brads mom and brother are trying to set up a website to keep people informed but I don't know if or when that's happening. Until then I will try to keep you posted and try to get Brad to post during the times he is on Valium. he has also been on something called Dilodin since Thursday night. Just trying to keep things quiet today but between the doctors and nurses coming in still every 20 minutes since 5:30 this morning with the rude awaking of the EKG guy - he's sleeping inbetween. Tomorrow they are taking some of his bone marrow and also placing a camera down his throat to look at his heart. he will be unconcious for both procedures. he is asleep now, he has a constant wheezing with his breathing. :frown:
I think he liked talkin to somebody who wasnt a doctor or a nurse, and attacking him with cords and tape....
yeah, he's definitely enjoyed that. we've been out there eveyr day since he's been in, since we're taking care of alibabas while he's in there (who, incidentally has been a delight to have around, and a lot more talkative than that cardboard statue of that dude in the army we had standing around for a couple of weeks a few years ago  ). and he's been looking so much better every day than he was when he got in.
as it sits as of 8 am this morning, the infectious control doctor came in and gave his opinion. His aortic valve in his heart is extremely “leaky” (doctors keep saying “leaky”). He has bacteria in his blood that the doctors say ate away at this valve. He said he was 95% sure that the bacteria in his blood was eating at his aeortic valve and it's "leaking" and will need to be replaced. They have had him on antibiotics to kill the bacteria but they say it could take weeks to clean his blood. If his heart is too "leaky" they may not be able to wait for the blood to clean.:frown: He also wasn't quite sure about the excrusiating back pain but right now says that the bacteria could be eating at his bone marrow in that area (bone marrow in the lower back was seen on the MRI). They are taking a bone sample from him this morning.
.
basically by the time I got to the hospital too many people were coming through the room and Brad was tired. 4 different nurse and orderlies and blood test taker and ekg people. ALL with in 20 minute.
:frown:
cluey is home in bed fighting a serious diagnosed case of pneumonia.
there may be some other things going on as well but most of the many tests aren't back yet.
I'll post more soon
Hope ya feel better soon CM
GOOD JOB!
he's got a couple of us making sure he gets plenty to drink and taking drugs on schedule. He may have slipped a disc in his lower back on top of everything else. I may loan him the laptop so he can come in to the Cooler but he isn't getting any rest!! he can't fall asleep.
I've had a talent in that lately...
that'll get him out of bed, and running away faster than you'd think....
Let me know if you need ANYTHING!!

I'm only a couple miles away. Let us know if he does / doesn't get relocated.
We might have to 'sic' these guys on Cluey...
I can't go see him because he sure don't want the crap I got right now on top of everything else. I sure hope things work out soon.
We love ya Cluey!
Edited to say, I was just wondering what time Mucluck posted the above post. Hope we hear an update soon.

we helped move some furniture around for him, so he could watch his DVDs and stuff, and feel more comfortable...
holy crap, there are alotta light switches, for just one room!
sat and talked for quite a while, until the sleep drugs started to kick in...
he seemed to be in about an okay mood as you can be, given every thing thats going on....
I think he liked talkin to somebody who wasnt a doctor or a nurse, and attacking him with cords and tape....
Its a lot to handle, and take all at one time....
he's a strong dude though.... Cluey's gonna kick this s**t in the a$$ and be outta that piece in no time...
seemed like the drugs were some good stuff  :pbpt:
sounded like he's gotta pretty full day today, though too....
the leukemia f**k up, pisses me off, to no extent....
I hate seeing good friends go through this type of stuff.... hopefully everything today goes as smooth as possible, and they can find more out....
keepin the big guy in our thoughts.... gonna maybe call later on today, and see how things went, if nobody posts....
