Knock, Knock, Knock

BLAM, BLAM, BLAM!

Rick Lundstrom

If you said what you said to me, there's people here who would accuse you of threatening thier life for no other reason than they think it gives them the upper hand in a debate.

I didn't suspect you were serious.

Maybe skydiving, or a boyfriend/girlfriend (Whichever you prefer).

I don't think my wife would like that. But it certainly would cause some conflict. hmmmmmmm................

Have you ever asked her?

THX, are you heading over to your Sheriff's Office on May 28th to apply for a CCW permit?

I'm going to look into it, that's for sure. Scribe wants to also.

Do you have to take the classes before you apply? Or do you apply first?

you and me both, thx. if you have to take the classes before youa pply you may as well wait. i've heard that most of the classes are already full.

i've heard that most of the classes are already full.

I've heard the same thing.

People were calling and signing up as as soon as it looked like it was going to pass.

Full of what?

Full of law abiding citizens.

Well, if anyone knows about low self esteem and small penises, it would be you.

So I'll take your word on it.

THX, as far as I know, you can apply at anytime then take a safety/qualification class. What that class/firerarms training will be, I don't know. The state will set minimum standards. No one is even sure who can actually teach a class.

I've heard talk of a $100.00 fee for the permit that would be good for 5 years and $20.00 a year to run annual background checks.

I think you mostly just need a clean record.

the current situation is that in most municipalities you had to present a good case for getting one. and pretty much the only thing our illustrious police chief lets through is job-related permits.

I see once again fold you know very little. Convictions are only a part of it. If you are currently a user or have been known to be a user, no permit. That would certainly disqualify you...correct?

"Overview
This bill establishes a "shall issue" policy for permits to carry a pistol in public. Essentially, it reverses the presumption on the issuance of permits to carry a pistol. Under current law, a person must demonstrate "an occupation or personal safety hazard" that requires a permit. Issuance of a permit is discretionary and a permit may be limited in its scope. Under the bill, a sheriff is required to issue a permit to a person unless the person is disqualified under specific, listed factors."

Looka my gun!

Looka my gun!

What are you guys reallytalking about?

On a business trip to Montreal last week, someone gave me a black beret. I look pretty sharp in it.

You don't need all that weaponry. Just carry yourself with a little confidence.

I'll repeat myself. "I see once again fold you know very little".

21, no felony and a safety course? Yep, no citizenship, no mental issues, show no ability to shoot...right?

I hate to break it to ya fold. The State hasn't sent out it's requirements for anything yet. You are guessing as usual.

I hate to break it to ya AGAIN fold. T.a.s.e.r. is the correct spelling. Not "Tazor". 21 feet is the maximum range. Not "50".

Of course you would have known all this IF you actually had one or at least been somewhat informed. But that's just you, isn't it?

Those tasers worked real well on Rodney King.

If I am truly fearful for my life or the life of one of my family members, I don't want no taser.

I want something that I know will stop them.

Did ya sell pink flamingos and straw hats from your roadside stand too? LOLOL!!!...Someone hand me a tissue...LOLOL!!!!

And remember boys and girls. Always bring your "taser" to a gun fight.

"No, no, our new concealed carry law is all about being "consistent" with the way gun permits are issued in Minnesota. It's about creating a "uniform policy," in the words of Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who complained on his radio show recently that the old law was "highly subjective,'' forcing many decent citizens to leave their sheriff's office with an empty holster.

"This, despite the fact that a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension survey found that 93 percent of permit applicants got one in 2002."

You don't like PAC money, JT?

How about MN lawmakers grabbin' the ankles for that NRA money?

"This, despite the fact that a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension survey found that 93 percent of permit applicants got one in 2002."

Intellectually dishonest.

There's tens of thousands of people, like me, that never bothered trying to get a permit to carry, because they knew under the rules at the time they would be denied.

You don't like PAC money, JT?

I don't/didn't have a problem with PAC money as much as I had a problem with Wellstone's hypocrisy and lies.

How about MN lawmakers grabbin' the ankles for that NRA money?

Where can I find such information? Since it's state reps, I don't think it would be on the FEC web site.

I'm truly interested in knowing how much NRA money is coming into the state, versus the anti-gun lobby. My guess is there's at least as much anti-gun PAC money coming into the state as there is NRA money.

see and what i want to know is what's the distribution of those issued permits. because i'm willing to bet that 93% of the 7% denied were right here in the metro area.

"I think they are afraid of being wrong."

If I couldn't handle being wrong, I'd have driven myself crazy a long time ago.

What I have a hard time handling is what is being done to my state. And the other side can gloat if they want.

But know this. This legislation is giving in to fear, and cloaking it in highfalutin' Constitutional rhetoric. Take pride in it if you will.

From what I have seen over the years the dems use fear all the time. For instance the commercial of G.W. pushing the old lady in a wheel chair down the graph, And the crap from the 80's about the Right saying that catchup was a vegetable. "They are starving our children"

More simplistic rhetoric.

Mon, 05/05/2003 - 7:30 AM Permalink

It is simplistic.

That's what the Liberals hate about it.

In Minnesota, they no longer can force their personal beliefs upon the rest of us.

You don't like guns, don't own or carry one.

Our friend Dennis wrote a little poem about Minnesota

I don't think he'll mind if I quote a verse:

"Shakespeare's grand potential and Mahatma's guiding light,

Are beyond the comprehension of the vigilante Right,

So pen our nation's epitaph and make the lesson clear,

"God couldn't make His wishes felt, for guns were worshipped here!"
