Anyone else heard anything?

Somebody posted something about that awhile ago.

Maybe it was Luv.

He moved some quotes around, and if they went after "Bowling for Columbine" with a fine-toothed comb the Gun Culture could feign a lot of indignance.

But Moore is eseentially powerless, compared to someone like Tim Pawlenty.

The film is not going to change anything.

Didn't take much of a comb to show Moore to be a fraud. He is. I kind of liked Roger & Me. Since then and once stardom got a hold he hardened even more politically. Mr. Champion anti coporote guy who happens to be worth millions, hmm, wonder why he doesn't give it all away and live on the salary of an auto worker. I mean it's not fair that he's rich is it ? Now I think he actually does a service to his opposistion without him even knowing it. He's so far gone and over the top that he turns much of what he says into a joke because of his tendency to exaggerate or flat out lie. It's sad some people will swallow it as fact when it could be entertaining, the guy even has a few valid points (very few IMO) but some who might normally want to agree are silently hoping he'd shut up or at least tone it down a bit lest he distract from real debate and or progress for his causes. He was on some talk show a couple weeks back stating that we really knew where Osama was but that Bush is paid by the oil companies and Shieks who control them and don't want Bin Laden caught. So Bush takes the money in exchange for amnesty for Osama. Sure, O.K Mike, everyone's in on it and you're on to em'. Of course he's either too dumb, paranoid or dishonest to admit it would be a political feat if Osamma was caught but hey, it's just little details and I'm sure if someone went over everything with a fine tooth comb they could find fault. Don't worry Mr. Moore, them evil conservatives are just picking on a righteous fella like yourself and trying to nitpick you with those little details and facts that get in the way of your rigtheous cause.

Keep up the good work Michael, can't wait for your next oscar speech and keep on a throwin' those conspiracy theories about, your help in getting the right elected is mucho appreciato !

If the laughable term "gun culture" now supposedly means "our" culture then I suggest people be more culturally sensative. I mean we're always being admonished to bein culturally sensative so I say respect my culture ;)

I'm filing a "Hate Crimes" lawsuit.

Whatever the hell that means.

I thought you'd see it as a compliment.

"God, Guts, and Guns..." You know the drill.

Well you'd be wrong, I don't see it as a compliment. I see it as a thinly vieled attempt at discrediting a large part of the population.

Yet another school shooting points out the need for better gun control

That was intelletual dishonesty if I've ever seen it.

Next time there's a fire will I see "Yet another forest fire points out the need for better control of matches"?

Next time a woman is abused will I see "Yet another woman abused at the hand of a man points out the need for better man control."?

Guys, that was my sarcastic typing

And

Manatee High’s principal says police told her the officer accidentally left a bullet in the chamber of his gun.

isn't an accident. It's negligence. And it shows that someone needs improve his gun handling practice.

The kid was on all sorts of anti psychotic meds and he smoked a joint you tell me how he legally owned a gun not to mention he was only 17 years old.

East Side, I guess recruiting standards for the Bradenton Police are really low.

A rift in the culture

"Do they post a "no guns allowed" sign, and offend some customers — or choose not to post a sign and offend others?"

THX 1138

"Do they post a "no guns allowed" sign, and offend some customers — or choose not to post a sign and offend others?"

Like a sign will stop anybody anyway. Especially criminals, which are the people you need to be afraid of.

Not to mention, why would you want to frequent a place that posts "no guns allowed"? Isn't that just advertising to the bad guys, "Come rob me!"?

Frickin' Idiots!

This is what you wanted, JT.

The gunners sowed the seeds of discontent. Now we reap the whirlwind.

Tue, 06/17/2003 - 5:50 AM Permalink
THX 1138

I'm not discontent.

I'll carry my gun. No sign will stop me. It's concealed, it's legal, and the worst they can do is ask me to leave.

That's assuming I will frequent any place that doesn't allow me to carry my gun.

Tue, 06/17/2003 - 5:54 AM Permalink
THX 1138

What's stupid is, people have always been allowed to legally carry.

And we always had people illegally carrying.

There were simply a disproportionate # of illegal carrying.

Now it will be legal.

I don't understand the problem.

Go back and reredat that. What are you saying.

This isn't about protection at all with you, is it?

You just want to do it. You're like Crabgrass with the drug legalization stuff..

Tue, 06/17/2003 - 5:57 AM Permalink
THX 1138

It's all about protection with me.

What is it with you?

Do you really think that sign will stop criminals?

Why do you want to stop law abiding citizens?

Tue, 06/17/2003 - 6:12 AM Permalink
Rick Lundstrom

I bet 75 percent of those signs are up as a protest against this law.

This has driven a wedge between Minnesotans. Power politics by the Republicans.

I say it again, this is what you wanted.

Tue, 06/17/2003 - 6:19 AM Permalink
Rick Lundstrom

What is it with you?

I dislike what's happening to Minnesota.

Do you really think that sign will stop criminals?

Nope. And. as I said. I dont' think that's why most of the signs are posted.

Why do you want to stop law abiding citizens?

Nothing stopped you before. The vast majority of permit request were granted. So that means this is just power politics to please the NRA and other gun lobbyists.

THX 1138

I dislike what's happening to Minnsota.

I bet you do.

Nope. And. as I said. I dont' think that's why most of the signs are posted.

Well, I agree there. And that's why I won't frequent places that post signs unless I absolutely have to.

The vast majority of permit request were granted.

That's such a dishonest statment.

I'm done.

bye

A business or organization that posts those signs are telling the law abiding citizen that they are not welcomed there.

Where are the "Criminals are not allowed here" signs?

I knew some people in North Side Minneapolis (pretty tough area) who, with their friends, would post signs in their windows saying there were no guns in their house.

Their rationale was -- if there was a person in trouble in the neighborhood, they wanted them to feel there was a place for them to go for help where they wouldn't be shot if they got near the house. I don't know if they still do it.

They were opening themselves up to problems. But they felt is was important.

Other people put peace symbols in their window with "Evolve" written next to it. Maybe other people have seen those.
