CLUE#10
Too many chief's and not enough indian's
That's what happens in the kitchen
Making these pie's are what I do best
You better get out there before the rest

CLUE#9
A little yellow ball and a racket
A little white ball and a bat
Go now and don't be a river rat

CLUE#8
One name is the same
Now this is kind of lame
Put them together and it's all the same

CLUE#7
Let me be frank I love the navy
Figure this out and it's all gravy
But you must go play on upper ground
And you wont be let down

CLUE #6
It's just about time for spring
Time to have picnic's and things
Call the family young and old
Off to the park you must go

CLUE#5
It could be black or brown
But look it's right there on the ground
Watch out for the bear
Reach in his mouth if you dare

CLUE #4
If you can view more then one dome
You your self will find the home
Of the puck's newest home

CLUE # 3
If you can see trees of green
You are where you need to be
You will have to look high and low
It's right there with a glow

CLUE #2
So now that the hunt has begun
Head on out and look for
A church that has just begun
Talk among your self's to figure out this 1

CLUE #1
It could be long or short
Wide or skinny, but for the beginning
Tread around and start looking

I was gone all weekend and stopped in briefly to see what the clues were. Sounds like Cherokee to me right now but I don't think I'll be able to get out to look for it until tomorrow evening.

me2 says baker st. runs right into baker park, too.

Hmmm, now that's a thought that seems to fit a lot of clues. I believe you can see both domes from Baker and there is a higher and lower ground. It's not on the river though and doesn't really have any picnic facilities that I remember.

I was looking at the river rat thing too that is why I took a drive by Baker Rec. earlier thismorning.

Mounds has the CARVERS CAVE which is shaped like a BAKERS OVEN

and CHERRY ST for Cherry Pie :) is at Mounds

I called Ares last night from CarverCave/Mounds cause there was a helicopter and river police patrol scoping the river with lights for something/someone last night about 10:15 last night. Police everywhere downtown and the river. Firetrucks on Navy/Raspberry Island and Robert St was completely closed off with police and flares.

I know there is no picnicing at Baker Rec. But that clue is definately Baker. I called Ares thismorning with the Baker theory. Cherokee and Baker meet right at the tennis and there are evergreen trees there but I don't buy that end of the park yet. Personally I would think a clue writer would NARROW down the area in the park the closer to the last clue you got BUT I have been finding that clue writers are giving boundaries to get you to the right park and never telling you where in the park til clue 11 & 12 :(

I thought it cute that Cherry (pie) and CHERokEE
you have ok in CHER-EE CUTE :)

But you must go play on upper ground

The playground at Baker is indeed on the upper ground. I'm still not sure about the pinic thing, but it does have baseball fields and tennis courts.

There were clues in my hunt about where in the park to look, several of which were in clue #2. You don't want to give too much out though about where in the park because once someone does figure out the park, then the hunt is basically over.

In your Battle Creek hunt we were having trouble dechipering what we NEEDED to SEE. we had the st names and school but to which were giving us location and which we had to actually see was tough. Did we need to see or stay close to McKnight and North and the school was the park identifier? or the other way around---same here in Lilmans hunt ---we have the middle of the park and both streets to the extremes---so do we stay to the middle or go to an extreme?

Mon, 04/07/2003 - 10:20 AM Permalink
me2

besides street names which clue is the identifier of the treasures location in the park I dont see. YET ;)there is baseball and tennis to the extremes but why not mention the basketball in the middle?
Chris Digger says he checked it out and usually its hard to want to go over what someone says they covered. The kicker is...that is usually where it is hidden. Kinda like CM in IM -I didnt even want to go look cause he covered it. But we have learned our lessons I hope from Mears & Phalen & BC :(

so looks like I will be checking 4fold over the playground/pyramidbathrooms/basketball area EVEN though it hasnt mentioned basketball or bathrooms.

I would say streets are rarely something you have to actually see. Typically they're just given as geographic boundaries. And things you have to actually see are generally described in the clue as something you have to "keep in sight" or "you'll see". In Lilman's hunt the way the clues are written would suggest you can see the baeball diamond and tennis court, the picnic area exists in the park, but you actually need to be near the playground.

Mon, 04/07/2003 - 11:58 AM Permalink

but in Cherokee you cannot see both baseball and tennis at the same time. I also thought you need to stay near the playground.

In this instance I think you need to see the domes, evergreens and the 'glow' and maybe the #1 staying near the playground up more by Chippewa. There is no sign of a church in Cherokee or IM or Baker except for the Cathedral (and the only way that would be 'beginning' to me would be the construction on it but that has been going on for a while now).

hmong community united methodist church is on george st, in between baker and cherokee. I like the "among us" clue...

Mon, 04/07/2003 - 12:33 PM Permalink
me2

yeah but Douglas park is closer to that church than Cherokee
Douglas FIR-green trees ;) there is a playground there and a church across the st. and you can see part of downtown. not sure how much though you can see.

I would ASSSSSSSSUUUUME you need to see the church at a distance OR it is on the park or the clue is actually no church at all.

Mon, 04/07/2003 - 12:38 PM Permalink
me2

There is a Cherokee United Church on Baker on the east side of Smith - but you cant see it from Cherokee -you may be able to see it from Douglas but not sure.

That hmong church on George is right next door to an old friends parents of mine. Ther is no park around it :(

Twas not an insult at all, just a friendly reminder that assuming things can completely screw you up in a hunt. Don't be mad m&m/cat women.

Upper Ground = High Land

I know there are tennis courts there but cant recall where

but in Cherokee you cannot see both baseball and tennis at the same time.

Then it's probably not at Cherokee.

Where does Lilman live anyway? Hmmmmmm

Newell even has a baseball field tennis courts playground and picnicing and you wouldn't be a river rat there.
